Wanna know more about Me? (aka Lady-Queen-Kam)

So you think you want to know more about this scary girl:
Okay then... here we go!

Here are the reader submitted questions:

➪Lease favorite food(s): mushrooms, ham, milk, bananas.

➪Favorite book: Of course I am a huge fan of the Twilight series! (go Edward! Although Alice is my favorite character) I do love me a good LDS Romance every now and again. I have read a lot of Nicholas Sparks book, but get bored of them quickly. I really like Clair Poulson books and other mystery/crime type of books. I plan on picking up a Nora Roberts book in the near future. Everyone seems to always suggest her books. We'll see. If you have any great suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I recently learned that maybe it's better to get a suggestion before you go out and buy a random book. You never know what will be inside.

➪Favorite fictional character: This is a tough one! I did mention earlier that I do love Alice Cullen! (as well as Edward. Totally NOT a Jacob fan) But I seem to be obsessed with which ever character I have seen most recently in a movie. I am weird like that. Somehow I find a way to relate to whatever movie I am watching. This is a really good question that I would love to revisit at a later date.

➪What do you do if you have free time? Honestly? I Plurk. I totally can not get enough of my Plurk friends. Especially Aubrey and Marci. I love them to pieces! They are always there to listen to me vent, make me smile, laugh (and I do mean LAUGH) and always there for a good cry. Seriously they are the best.
If I am not plurking, you can find me watching movies, playing the Wii, playing on my iPod, or just chillin' with Dustyn. We also LOVE going for rides and absolutely can not get enough time camping. I love free time!

➪Who is your "superhero" in life? I would have to say birth mothers/birth parents. I am in complete awe of them. They make one of the most difficult decisions to help someone else's dreams come true. What a selfless decision. What a life changing choice. One that I will forever be grateful for. They are most definitely my heros! I can't wait to meet a birth mother that will make the decision that makes us parents here on earth! It's hard to describe the love and respect I have for birth parents.

➪If you could tell the world just one thing, what would it be? (is anyone else singing Jewel at this point? I can't stop!) It's all okay. Kidding! I would tell the world that, "Adoption is an Option!" A lot of teenagers and unwed mothers don't realize that adoption is an option for whatever reason. Maybe they are afraid of what their friends and family would say or maybe they are afraid of the pain and hurt that comes with adoption. Whatever reason, it seems like so many are fearful of adoption. I would love to educate the world about adoption. That is how you get over your fears, right? Education? It seems like this is the case especially in small communities. Maybe. Maybe not.

➪If there was no chance in failing, would you do something different?
Oh would I! I would do so many things different. Why are we so scared of failure? I am terrified of it. It's okay to fall on your face sometimes. It is! It only makes you that much better and that much more prepared the next time around! If only it were that easy. Let's see... here are a few things that I would do differently. I would have gone to an big out of state school. I would have gone into architect or advertising or design. I would be creative! I would create. Maybe try my hand at painting, drawing, sculpting. I would go get my teaching degree in mathematics. I would run! I would get a real job! I would blog about my feelings more often. I would write a blog post good enough to post on AubreyMo.com . Oh the things I would do! So... what's stopping me?

➪What was an important lesson you learned growing up? I think for sure, it was to WORK HARD! No matter what you are doing, work hard. Go the extra mile and do what it takes to get things done. You aren't going anywhere if you don't work hard.

➪What is the funniest thing that has ever happened to you? All I can think is embarrassing moment, which I won't share here. I'm still embarrassed. But if anyone else can think of something, go ahead... share. I will keep thinking, but I can't come up with anything at this point in time.

➪Do you have any brothers or sisters? In fact, I do! I have a younger sister JaKell (28) who is married to Brandon. She has three kids (CamRee, Tryen, and HadiLee) and two step kids (Gillian and Brynnley). Then I have a younger brother Jace (26) who is married to Tina. They have three dogs (Aspen, Tyke, and Mojo). Then last but not least is Chet (18). He is single and starting a new job! (oh and a dog named Diamond! And a family dog named Camo)

➪What is your middle name? Lee

➪Name five favorite things about your hubby:
Only five? ;)
1-He is creative! I love what he can do with a paintbrush or with a computer. He is definitely talented. I could look at his paintings and artwork for hours. He listens to my suggestions and doesn't get upset when I critique his art (even though I know nothing about art). I LOVE talking art with him.
2-His desire for children. I always wanted a large family. With the infertility issues and adoption challenges we have faced, I have decided that I want two kids at the most. He still has hopes and dreams of a large family. A little heart ache can't get him down. As far as a large family, we'll see. I'm still set on two.
3-He always shows his respect for me. He always opens my door, always walks on the outside, always lets me go first, always makes me feel special. He is always there to do little favors and errands for me. Most of the time I know he doesn't want to, but he does it anyways without complaining. I don't have to question if he loves me.
4-He gets so exited over little things. Anything to do with Apple/Macs, movie previews, electronics, TV's, just anything. He comes home and tells me all about what he read about that day. Sometimes I have no idea what he's talking about, but it's fun to see him so excited.
5-He loves the Lord. He honors his Priesthood. He is always ready to serve others and do the best that he can. He tries hard to be the best he can at his calling, he always has great comments to make, he can be counted on when given an assignment, he has a testimony and is not afraid to share it, he helps me be a better person. We aren't perfect by any means, not even close. With Dustyn's help, we are continually trying to better our lives and the loves of those around us.

➪If I lived closer, would you eat Fat Sticks with me? PS we should eat them anyway. Uhm... heck yah! Let's go! Aubs, I am glad we share an obsession with Fat Sticks. We should totally have Fat Sticks soon! P.S. You should meet my friend Carrie. We should all have Fat Sticks!

➪Am I your favorite? (Wait. Don't answer that). Srsly. Do you even have to ask?

➪Umm... weren't we going to swap blog posts?!?! We totally need to get on that!

➪What is your favorite place to eat? Okay, what place isn't my favorite, really. Let's see... there's Texas Roadhouse, Fat Jack's, Cafe Rio, Jason's Deli, anything Thai, Steve's Steakhouse, Zupas, Spaghetti Factory, Cheesecake Factory, Melting Pot, Chili's, and many, many more.

➪What is your favorite Wii game and what is your highest score? Well it would for sure be Dr. Mario! I LOVE that game. I don't know what my highest score is, but I don't really know of anyone who can beat me. My dad can occasionally.

➪Why did you name your daughter Hannah? Do you have names for your future children? It was kind of a joke when I was in college and in my 20's. I would always say, "Oh my Hannah!". I always joked that I would name my daughter that. When Dustyn and I got married we talked about both liking the name Hannah. I didn't think we would ever actually use it. When Hannah was born, we didn't really know how old the baby had to be in order to give her a name and a blessing. Just in case, we came up with a name quickly and that is what we came up with. (We later learned that she was not old enough)
We do have names for our future children. We have a boy name and a girls name. I hope we get to use both. I would share them, but I don't want to just yet. ;)

➪Who is your favorite friend in Stansbury Park? Stansbury Park? Where's that? Ha ha! Kidding! It would definitely have to be Anika! ;) Oh yeah and for sure her mom!

➪If you could live anywhere in Utah, where would you live? Yes, Arianne, I wish I could live closer to you, but I really, really love Sevier valley. I don't think I could ever leave. It's my most favorite place in Utah. Maybe you should retire here. ;)

➪How big was the biggest deer you ever shot? If it wasn't 2AM, I'd go find a picture to scan in! It was when I was 16, my first deer. A 3 X 4. We shot it and were back in town before 7AM on opening morning. Nice.

➪When are you going to come see me? Soon! When are you going to come see me? ;)

➪What is your favorite store to shop at? I love, love, love Target most of all. Can't get enough. I love me some IKEA. I love American Eagle for Jeans, Maurices for shirts, and Keen shoes (where ever you can find them). If I were skinnier I'd shop at Gap, Banana Republic, etc. (oh, okay... and richer)

➪What is your favorite treat? I love Ice Cream (it can't be thick or creamy. Ew) or popsicles. Mostly anything cold.

➪What is your favorite hobby when you have free time? I know I mentioned some before, but I wanna add photography in there. I love taking pictures and learning photoshop. I also love going to the school with Dustyn. I need to learn some more hobbies. I would love how to do more handcrafts.

➪What is on your birthday wishlist? Hmm... I don't know just yet. I will post about it when I have thought more about it. It's a very important list, you know. :D

I think that is all on this edition of "Getting to know Lady Queen Kam!"
Until next time, have a great Thursday!

A sneak peek for Cyd.

This has been promised for months.  I know.  But here are a few pictures from Cyd's Senior Photo Shoot.
These are just a few.  Many, many more favorites coming soon!
(blasted blogger - always kills the colors.  They are much better in real life Cyd)

M-I-A

I hadn't realized that it had been so long since I posted, but Arianne noticed! :) Thanks for remembering me!

It has been a busy week. Full of traveling and whatever else we could fit into the mix. So here, for your reading pleasure, is a quick rundown of our week. Well as far as I can remember. :P

Of course on Tuesday Dustyn cut his finger and had to go get stitches. His finger is doing well and he gets his stitches out on Friday! YAY! And I guess while I am at it, I might as well fill you in on the story. He was at school unloading the kiln. One of the students used a little too much glaze and his ceramic pot fused to the kiln shelf. Dustyn pried it off and as he was doing so, his right index finger slipped and ran across a sharp piece of glass (fired ceramic and glaze = glass) and spit it open (He said it looked like a fish mouth. Ha ha). It's about an inch long and was quite deep. So that was the story with that. On a side note - today he was getting another pot out of the kiln. Same student's pot. He was using gloves this time. Smart, I know! Well he got it of the shelf and walked out of his office to see whose it was so he could get on them about using too much glaze and . . . he cut his pinky. It's not as deep or big, but he says it bled a lot. By now - the student is feeling horrible. And his account is being charged for two new kiln shelves. Poor kid. Poor Dustyn.

On Tuesday night, Dustyn and I went to a dinner and award ceremony for the Sevier County Commissioners Show. The show was alright this year. Sadly, I was not impressed. But the dinner was alright. Nothing to write home about. :P So that was our Tuesday!

On Wednesday we drove up to Springville right after school (Right before we left, my sweet brother had us stop by so he could give me a throw that he bought me. It's the best! Thanks Chet, I LOVE it. He feels left out when I wear SSHS shirts, so he bought me a RHS blanket. Rivalry. lol). We had to pick up some student artworks at the Museum. While we were there we had the opportunity to see the Spring Salon show. For the most part it was an excellent show and I was impressed!! But there were some pieces that I just didn't know what to think about. They hadn't put up the name/title slips yet, so a title might have helped me make my decision, but I have yet to make a decision. There was one painting that I want to buy!! I am sure it was in the thousands, but I LOVED it. I wish I could show you. Guess you will have to believe me. Unless you go to the show!!

We also had the amazing experience of seeing the Wayne Thiebaud show! It was great! I want to go see it again! If you have the opportunity to see it before it leave, I would recommend it. Especially if you are interested in Pop Art. It was awesome. We of course ended up buying the show catalog and the "Delicious" book. I also learned that when he was young he lived in St. George for a few years. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. But I am not clear whether or not he is currently active (I don't think he is), but I found it interesting that he had ties to Utah.

After we saw the show we jumped in the car and headed to St. George. Dustyn had a yearbook training the following morning. I decided to go with him since I usually help a little with the yearbook! We got to St. George around 12:00AM or so. We actually stayed in Hurricane. So Thursday we went to the Yearbook Training which was pretty fun. Then we rushed back home to host at the commissioners show by 4:00PM.

Hosting was pretty boring. For THREE hours. But we did get a chance to look through the show, which like I said, I found pretty disappointing. It may have been that I was at the Springville Museum of Art the previous day and saw 2 awesome show . . . or the show just wasn't great this year. I did however like 5 pieces! Dustyn's! I thought he did a great job. But it wasn't really anything that Sevier County would consider in their show. They are pretty conservative. BUT . . . Dustyn did sell another piece this year! He was pretty excited . . . until she told him where she was going to hang it. In the bathroom. He was so depressed about that. And really, WHO hangs original oil paintings in the bathroom? Weird. Oh well. At least he sold another piece. If you recall he sold a sculpture last year. So the Commissioners show has been good for him.

On Friday we mostly hung out and chilled with my parents. I thought we did something, but I can't remember.

On Saturday we drove up to Provo. We made a stop at Costco and picked up a few things. We went to lunch at the Olive Garden. Soup, Salad and Breadsticks. The best! We wandered some more. Went to both malls and just hung out. It was nice to just spend time together wandering. We went to Baby Momma. Funny, funny movie. I really liked it. Dustyn wants to own it, if that tells you anything. I really was funny though. And good! AND I can't remember any really bad parts! That is always nice! For dinner we wanted to go to Leatherby's (I was craving Gretchen's Golden Nugget). We were sad to find out they had closed. :( So sad. I am totally disappointed. So instead we went to Red Robin. It was pretty good. I had Fish and Chips with LOTS of Malt Vinegar. YUM! I think I get fish, just so I can eat the vinegar. I am such a vinegar junkie! But I was still on the look out for somewhere to find good ice cream with homemade carmel. No where. We drove all the way to American Fork. We finally just got a shake at Parker's Drive In. Yes, Melisa, I think of you every time I go there! Ha ha! We ordered fresh strawberry shakes, but there were no strawberries. :( Just syrup, I think. Really I think they were close to closing and just wanted to get us out of there, because i know she heard us. Luckily we had bought strawberries at Costco, so I got some out and made a real Strawberry Shake! After that we finally decided to head home.

On Sunday we went to church. I sat out in the foyer to make my back happy. Apparently that did not make my back happy. :( It has been sore since then. Church is a struggle for my back. :P

Moday, was just Monday. Oh wait, Monday was the day that Mario Kart came out on the Wii! Luckily Dustyn sold a painting last week! Ha ha!! We are SO smart with our money! Ha ha! But if anyone wants to play, let me know and I will send you our friend code. Yay!

Today I stayed home and scanned pictures ALL day for the Senior Video that we are doing. So far, so good. We are coming along. We have less than a month to finish it. OH yeah, and I got ALL of our laundry done. I needed the day off to get my back feeling better - and oh is it! I am so happy. Now my hip is so sore from compensating for my back. Man, I have issues!

So that is what has happened while I have been MIA. Nothing too exciting, but a lot of traveling and busyness. And of course, no pictures. I have been such a slacker with pictures lately. I either forget my camera or never pull it out. When I do have it ready, I never find the perfect photo op. Hopefully I will get out of this non-photoness stage. My Photo blog is suffering.

Weekends!!

We had a great weekend!  There was only ONE problem.  I totally forgot my camera and my video camera!  So irritating!!!!

We went to Springville for the All State High School Show.  Dustyn received his "Utah Art Educator of The Year" Award and gave an excellent speech!  He really is a great public speaker.  I am always so impressed with him!  I am so proud of him!  He is an amazing person!  And an amazing artist and teacher!  He received a cash award and he also gets to choose one of his artworks to be hung in the David O. McKay Education building at BYU for one year.  I am so proud of him!  I wish I would have brought the video camera so I could have had his speech.  I am so mad at myself!!!  I always forget that we even OWN a video camera.  We never use it and have had it almost a year.  :P

This evening, we attended the Wild Turkey Association Banquet.  It was fun and of course Uncle Pete made some AMAZING food.  But . . . we were as lucky as we usually are and won . . . nothing.  :p  But I always enjoy going to them anyways.

We hope ya'll had a great weekend!

A day in the Sun . . . Er.. Snow!

We had a good day today! We are still in SLC and have just spent the day wondering. It was great. We started out at the Salt Lake City Museum of Art. They had some really cool exhibits. I'm glad we had the opportunity to go! After that we went to the Gateway and just hung out for a few hours. Of course, mostly in the Apple Store.
I am thinking we were in there for at least an hour and maybe two. We played with the iPhones for quite some time! We are still trying to decide if that is what we want to buy. We have decided that we do need something that is multi-functional that will contain the details of our lives. I don't want to carry a planner, and I am horrible at calendars. So we are still playing with the idea for a future day. After we left Apple, we went to Verizon to check out the Samsung, LG, Verizon and Blackberry smart phones. Well, as much as I tried, I just couldn't figure them out. It was frustrating. It seems that the iPhone is far more user friendly. Who knows. Anyways . . . we also went to AT&T to see if they could tell us how good the service is in Richfield. They told us it was great. . . I am not sure if I believe them. I still haven't met anyone in Richfield with AT&T Service, so I am a little nervous about that. But they say it has "best" service where we live, so we shouldn't have any problems. Hmmm...... Who knows.

We also went to Anthropologies. I LOVE that store. It is such a fun store to window shop in! LOVE it!! We also found some great books. There is one that I would LOVE to share... but Dustyn is going to try his hand at the idea, so I will let you know soon when Dustyn is finished! :)
Of course we had to go check out the Fountains! It was a lot of fun! They still have the water on and it was snowing. Too funny!
We also went to Olive Garden and had salad and bread sticks. YUM! Soooo gooood!
After we wondered around all day, we went to Target. Perfect ending to a perfect day! :) Then we went to Rumbi for dinner.
That was our day.
Wait. . . I forgot!!! Can't forget the trash can in Famous Footwear. I think I am trusting them and avoiding that! LOL!
And my favorite sign for the day! YAY! Thanks for the fabulous instructions!!
