Layout Issues

So I was trying to change-up my template. Of course I was bored with the last one. I always make sure to save my old template before making changes so that I can always go back!

Well apparently when you try a new template all together... it erases all the info so when you try to go back and put the old template in... the info is all gone. So if I don't get your blog link back up within the next few days... let me know so I can add it. It may take me quite some time to get back all my stuff!! Gee... I don't know if that is good or bad. At least it's something new... for now.

Anything else I have forgotten?!?! Sheehs!! How annoying! :) Too bad I am sure I will do it over again in a week when I am bored with this layout.

New Glasses

I suppose I could post a picture of them! ;)

Finally a CURE!!

So as you know, I have been having headaches for about a month everyday. I finally decided that just maybe if I were to get some prescription sunglasses. Maybe my eyes were just getting too tired from squinting in the bright sun. So we went to Lenscrafters and picked out some sunglasses. I was just hoping that they would fill them with my prescription on hand and we could get on with our day. Wrong. My prescription was two years old, so of course they required me to get a new eye exam. I hate eye exams.

So in the beginning they had me leave my glasses on and try to read some letters on a chart. Let's just say I could not read any of them. I thought... hmm... that's weird. Isn't that why I HAVE glasses? So we finish up the tests (including the glaucoma test with the puffs of air in your eye! I HATE that test!) and she has me take of my glasses and puts the chart up there. I could barely read the FP. How LAME is that?!?! So she reads my current prescription in my glasses and runs a test to see my basic prescription. Before I was a 1.5 in both eyes. She tells me that she is reading me at a 2.5. WHAT?!?! In the ten years that I have had glasses I have increased .25. That's it. And now all of a sudden a gain a FULL point? Blah! So long story short... we spent the entire day at Lenscrafters and I got new glasses. And... I CAN SEE!! I haven't had a headache since... and the world is BRIGHT again! SO wonderful!

But they did dilate my eyes and I hate that too. I looked like a freak all day and my eyes were so tired and sensitive to light.

Here are my new glasses!!

And my new sunglasses!!

So finally it is all over and it all makes sense. At least there was a happy ending to the story. (Not the two new pairs of glasses part, but the being able to see part!) NO MORE HEADACHES!! Yay!! (At least I sure hope so!!)

Pumpkin Carving!!

We FINALLY went and bought some pumpkins to carve tonight. We figured we didn't have much time left. It was a lot of fun! We decided to each get two!

Here is Dustyn working on his "planned" pumpkins!

Here is Kamie working on her "unplanned" pumpkins! :)
(yes, I am a dork)

And here are the finished products. Dustyn's are on the right and mine are on the left! :)

Ha ha!! Our house looks so ghetto in this picture!

We love you sweet baby!

Happy Birthday Bryce

Bryce and Dustyn grew up together and have been good friends for a long time. And of course they still are... even though I seem to take up more of his time... which makes Bryce very happy!

Happy Birthday CamRee!!

100 years of SSHS

Tonight was SSHS's 100th Birthday! They had a huge party and it was lots of fun! They had people of all ages that came to see all the memorabilia from the past 100 years of high school at South Sevier. There were old prom dresses and uniforms. Pictures and old year books, all kinds of fun things. It was like a HUGE school reunion. Most of the people there graduated before 1950. It was awesome! Dustyn was selling old yearbooks for 5 dollars. They were also selling past senior hoodies and t-shirts. They had birthday cake and sprite and had a video slide show. Then at 9:00 they put on some awesome fireworks and lit the SS's on the hill.

It was a great night.

the Weekend

It was a pretty good weekend. Friday when I got finished with school, we came home and packed and headed for SLC. On Saturday we attended my Uncle Jeff's funeral. It was a really nice funeral and I am glad I was able to attend. All of the kids talked and I was proud of them all. I don't think I could have done that. It was so good to see them all. It's been a long time. We drove home on Saturday afternoon to attend the burial in Elsinore. It was cold and snowing. But it was really nice.

Afterwards we went to my Grandma's house and hung out. CamRee, Tryen and Hadi drove to Richfield with Dustyn, Mom and I. It was so fun to see them. We played all evening. They are going home today. I miss them!

My head hurts.

I have had the worst headache for about three weeks straight. It is getting on my nerves. I just can't take it any longer. Grr...

This just hasn't been a great week. A sad week. There have been numerous sad events. Heart breaking events.

My heart and love goes to all the families that are dealing with these tragedies. I love you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Time Flies

As I was thinking about the date today, I realized that 4 years ago today, Decker Lake Youth Center called and offered me a job. Of course, I accepted it. My first real job. A state job! That was on a Tuesday.

On Wednesday, my dad took me to Provo. We were looking for a new truck! I mean I had just got a new job... of course I needed a new truck! So we came home with my brand new 2003 Toyota Tacoma. It had 13 miles on it. Being the nice daughter that I am... I let my dad drive half of the way home. While we were doing the financing... a boy called me on my cell phone. I had no idea who it was and didn't recognize the number. So I answered and quickly handed the phone to my dad thinking that it was Jared (JaKell's husband at the time). Well come to find out... it was Dustyn. We had talked at Family Home Evening on Monday and he had FINALLY asked me out. It took him long enough to even notice me at all. But our date was planned for Thursday. He was calling to make sure that things were still on. (really he missed me... he just didn't know it yet).

On Thursday, Dustyn picked me up and we drove up to American Fork to go to the Haunted Forest. Of course he took me to a haunted house.. hmm.... why else do boys take dates to Haunted Houses? It was a great time! And of course his plan worked. When things kept jumping out of me of course I latched on to his arm! I mean what's a girl to do? We drove home hand in hand afraid to let go (ha ha! Don't you love that feeling?) He took me home and kissed me! From there the rest is history!

On Friday, Dustyn and I drove to St, George to attend Matt's football game. Of course HE drove. He put more miles on my truck than I did! I still think he married me for my truck! Ha ha! Well it turned out that we showed up on the wrong day for Matt's game. So we had dinner at Cafe Rio and turned around and came home.

On Saturday and Sunday we hung out all day. The bishop asked me what was up... and I told him that Dustyn just might be the one!! :)

On Monday morning bright and early, I moved to SLC, and started my job at Decker! We talked on the phone every night for 2-3 hours. I came home on the weekends and put about 8,000 miles on my truck in the first three month I had it.

A couple weeks later, we decided to get married. We went ring shopping. I was so nervous. It was so funny. At one point, I just had to sit down and breathe. It was all so fast and crazy, but so right and good!

On November 7th, Dustyn took me up Monrovian Canyon and proposed. It was now official. After working at Decker Lake for 5 weeks or so, I quit and moved back home to be with Dustyn. The people there thought I was crazy... and maybe I am. It was hard to tell them that I was quitting after I just finished training, but it was worth it! I moved home the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving at Dustyn's mom's house. (She still thinks that we had been dating for months and months. I am not sure if we have convinced her yet...even today).

We were married on January 10, 2004 in the Manti, Utah Temple. It was a day that I will never forget! From there we headed to Jackson Hole. Who goes to Jackson Hole in January? Only crazy people, I guess.

I can't believe it has almost been 4 years. I can't believe that the time has past so quickly. There have been so many great events in the past four years. Here are some of the major life changing ones.

*Our baby Hannah
*Buying a house
*Remodeling our House
*Kamie's Elk Hunt
*Dustyn getting his Master's
*Adoption

But most of all we just love spending time together. It's all the little things that make our life great. All the day to day things and time that we are able to spend together. I love subbing because I get to see him more and we are able to have Lunch together quite often!

This is and will always be a special month to me. Especially this week! Four years ago, it was one of the best weeks of my life. When I finally convinced Dustyn that he loved me!

One Word - Wilma

I've MISSED this! Ha ha ha!

Dish Duty

I was cleaning up dinner and just getting the dishes ready to put in the dishwasher. Suddenly I see something move by my head and drop onto the floor in front of the dishwasher. I look down and see another black widow. Eww.. I am not liking this at all. It started to go towards the cupboards and disappear only so show up again at a later date... and I couldn't allow that. I had to step on it! I HATE stepping on bugs/spiders. Hate it! So for now, I am on strike. Dustyn has dish duty until he gets someone over here to spray! I don't want to see anymore black widows! Yuck! I think it was trying to attack me and missed! :P

Toothbrush

I have the most annoying toothbrush and I never think about needing a new one until I am home using it.

I have the WORST gag reflex. If I think about gagging, I gag. Brushing my teeth is a chore that I hate doing because I usually end up gagging and dry heaving for half of an hour. So when I brush my teeth I am so very careful to not let the toothpaste near the back of my mouth. Well the toothbrush that I have now... LOSES BRISTLES WHILE I AM BRUSHING! NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! They get stuck on my tongue and various other places in my mouth. When this happens... I have no choice but to start gagging. It's horrible! I need a new toothbrush. You would think that this would be enough to make me go buy a new one, huh?

Cranium

While the lights were out, Dustyn and I were playing Cranium in the candle light.

(Kamie drawing the perfect picture of a couch and TV)

Dustyn: Hmm.. Oh... Potato Couch.
Kamie: Potato Couch?
Dustyn: Yah, Potato Couch.
Kamie: Don't you mean Couch Potato?
Dustyn: I am the son of Myrna.

Power Outage

I love it when the power goes out. It's nice to just sit back and do nothing but talk and play games in the candle light (Once Dustyn gets home, of course! I hate being home alone in the dark)! But of course, it's nice when you have candles. Tonight I was reminded of all the emergency supplies that I need to get. Candles, flashlights being part of the list. Thankgoodness for smelly candles to light the way. And gas stoves so that I could make dinner! But I love being able to sit and not feel guilty or like I should be working on the laundry or that I am spending too much time on the computer. Life gets a little simpler when the lights go out.

Bruce

As requested, pictures of Bruce! (I would go take a few right now, but it's dark) These pictures are from when we were at Piute in the Spring. Dustyn was trying to get Bruce to look at the camera. Not such an easy task.

Those are the only pictures that I have on my computer. :)

Poor Bruce

Apparently we had some excitement at our house yesterday. Too bad we missed it.

I was just getting out of school when my dad called and told me that there was quite the crowd at our house. I was a little confused and asked why. He explained.

There are quite a few power lines in our back yard and numerous trees that have overgrown them. We have called the power company time and time again. They keep telling us that those trees are our responsibility. Well apparently all the wind yesterday caused the transformer or something to start sparking and started a grass fire in our backyard. Well the back yard is still weeds. Dry weeds. Now, black weeds. Someone saw it sparking and noticed that it started the grass on fire and went and sprayed it down with the hose. Thankgoodness. They called in the fire deparment to make sure that the fire was out and that everything was okay. I guess we had quite the crew of officers, fire dept, power company and of course The Reaper. Blah.

Poor Bruce was scared to death. It burned up to where his area of the yard starts. There aren't any weeds there so it stopped, but I am surprised the wind didn't spread it more. The wind was crazy. But Bruce hid behind the shed. Nobody knew he was even back there until dad showed up at the house and went to check to see if he was okay, then he came out. I went and petted him and tried to calm him down, but he was pacing back and forth. Everytime I tried to leave he would start crying and barking as if saying, "Please don't leave me, PLEASE!!" I felt so bad for him.

By the time that I got home everything was fine. The back yard was still smoking, but not buring!! They cleaned out some of the trees, but there are still a lot back there that are eventually going to cause problems.

That was our excitement for the year, and we missed it.

The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks

Today I subbed for an English class in the Middle School and it was reading day all day. Let's just say I finished my 500 page book today! Yipee!! Actually I only read about 400 pages of it today and 100 pages yesterday.

Of course it turned out to be a great book which I would recommend to anyone wanting an intense love story... but don't read it when you are home alone. Okay?

Now what to read next? I need a library card again!

Shoes for my poor little feet!

I really need a new pair of shoes and I have no idea what kind to get. Where I am pretty much on my feel all day now, I need something comfortable that will go with almost anything and something that is semi professional looking. And preferably slip on type shoes without laces! I HATE tying my shoes. If I have shoes that tie, I will more than likely slip on my ugly, uncomfortable shoes before putting on shoes with laces. Lame, I know. But that is me for you.

So if you have any idea for me, please let me know. My K-Mart shoes just aren't doing it and I need to find something a little more comfortable that won't fall apart in a week! If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks!

Happy Birthday Carrie!!

Here are 10 facts about my super friend Carrie!!

1. Carrie and I met at our first year at Snow College! That was in 1997 in case anyone was wondering! When Nicole and I first moved into our apartment, we thought "Vegas Girls?? This could be interesting!!" But it was a great year and I am so happy I had the opportunity to meet Carrie! She is the greatest! I am also very happy that we met Heidi! I miss them both! We did some funny things... some I can't mention!! Ha ha!

2. Carrie's dad and uncle owned the house that we lived in in Ephriam! It was Carrie's grandmother's house. There were these "weed" pictures on the wall. They were kinda cool, but kinda ugly. We used them as a topic of conversation when we had people over and there was a lull in the conversation. But I love seeing pictures of those pictures because they make me think of Carrie. :)

3. I spent a lot of time in Vegas with Carrie. I could spend hours and hours and hours talking to her. I was happy that we both got married a little later on in life so that we could spend lots of quaity Carrie/Kamie time. I miss all those trips to Vegas! She also came to visit me in Cedar quite often as well.

4. I don't get to see Carrie very often and I don't talk to her very often, but I always know that no matter how long it has been... we can always get right back to where we left off! We have so many fun memories and fun times together!! I know we will be friends forever!

5. I use to spend so much time visiting Carrie and her parents that I had my own room!! Ha ha!! Just kidding, but I felt like it was my own room and they treated me like it was my own room! I loved going to visit! It was the room with all the wedding pictures of all of the kids. I bet if I took them a picture, they'd add me to the room!! :)

6. I would love to live in Vegas so that I could see Carrie and Rodney more often! But could I handle the heat? Not so much! Guess I will just have to stick with random visits!

7. Carrie and Rodney always let us stop in anytime and are always willing to take us to the airport, even if it doesn't fit into their schedule. And believe me, we have done this more than once. We are getting good at taking random trips.

8. One of my funniest memories with Carrie was when we lived in Ephriam and it was late and dark. We were walking home from Ward Prayer or something and I was walking on the grass because there was not enough room on the sidewalk... well there was a hole... and I found it! All of a sudden I dropped and fell in the hole almost up to my hip. It scared me and no one else had any idea what happened. Then Carrie did what she does best... laugh! She started laughing and laughing and laughing. If I remember right she was laughing so hard that she fell down. Which brings me to my next fact about Carrie. She laughs (HARD) at people when they get hurt! I remember Heidi was carrying a crate and fell and hit the curb. Heidi was dying and Carrie was... well.... laughing! I sprained my ankle bad and Carrie was... laughing! All the time! :)

9. Carrie and Rodney got married two weeks before Dustyn and I did. I was able to get my Temple recommend a little early and go recieve my own endowments so that I could attend Carrie's marriage. That was one of my favorite memories of Carrie and one of my favorite memories in general. It was also the first time that Dustyn and I were able to go to a session together. I was so happy that I was able to go and it kinda prepared me for what was happening for me in two weeks. Of course Carrie and Rodney were able to come join us for our marriage as well. Special Memories!!

10. I miss Carrie and Rodney. I know there are things that I can talk to Carrie about that none of my other freinds will ever understand. I love having that bond with Carrie. I am so happy that we are still friends and that we still get to see each other fairly often! She is the best!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARRIE!!

It's October!!

To celebrate we watched "Monster House" and made Ginger Snaps! Two of my favorites! What a great night!
