Police Need More Powerful Weapons to Combat ‘Mumbai-Style Terror Attacks’ Says Police Chief

Police officers must be armed with even more powerful weapons to deal with a Mumbai-style terrorist attack in the UK, a top officer said last night.

Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner John Yates said officers needed a huge boost to their firepower to combat an atrocity where the aim is to kill as many innocents as possible in a matter of minutes.

His comments reflect grave concerns that Britain may not be able to cope with a copy-cat attack and suggest moves toward the greater use of 'heavy ballistic weapons' including rapid-fire assault rifles and C9 Minimi machine guns, as used by the SAS, as well as more powerful bullets.'

Revealed: British Arms Used in Gaza Conflict

British arms were used by Israel during recent operations in Gaza, the foreign secretary has admitted.

The revelation is acutely embarrassing for David Miliband, who assured the Commons this was not the case during the fighting at the turn of the year.

During a Commons debate on January 12th this year, Mr Miliband told his Liberal Democrat counterpart: "…we have no evidence of any of the exports that he has pointed to being used in this operation.

Egyptian Human Rights Official: Israelis Smuggling Arms Into Gaza

Egypt has proof that the majority of weapons that are smuggled into the Gaza Strip come from Israel, said the general secretary of Egypt’s National Council for Human Rights Mukhlis Qutb.

In an interview with the state owned Al-Ahram newspaper, Qutb said Egypt has the necessary documentation and confessions proving that weapons are smuggled into Gaza by people possessing Israeli citizenship.

He also alleged that some members of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are involved in the smuggling and selling of Israeli weapons to the Strip. Qutb added that the deals and payment for the weapons are struck inside Israel.

What Is The Secret Killing Weapon In Iraq?

Woodward compares clandestine program to Manhattan Project, could secret weapon be terrifying radiation canon?

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bob Woodward revealed to Larry King last night that the U.S. has embarked on a "secret killing program" in Iraq which has dramatically reduced attacks on coalition troops by wiping out terrorists, but what could this secret weapon possibly be?
A CNN report details Woodward’s revelations.
The program — which Woodward compares to the World War II era Manhattan Project that developed the atomic bomb — must remain secret for now or it would "get people killed," Woodward said Monday on CNN’s Larry King Live.
"The top secret operations will "some day in history … be described to people’s amazement," Woodward told King.
While he would not reveal the details, Woodward said the terrorists who have been targeted were already aware of the capabilities.
"The enemy has a heads up because they’ve been getting wiped out and a lot of them have been killed," he said. "It’s not news to them."
For the weapon to be comparable to the atomic bomb, one would speculate that it must employ some kind of exotic new technology and is potentially related to neutron bomb and electromagnetic weapons research.

Police To Be Armed With Glue Guns And Stink Bombs

They are weapons more associated with Ghostbusters than the boys in blue, but police officers are to be armed with glue guns and stink bombs to help them catch criminals.
A 'less lethal technologies' report published by the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (SDB) showed scientists are creating an array of less harmful weapons than guns, Tasers and plastic bullets to fight crime.
According to the industry magazine Police Review today, the report lists a variety of non-lethal weapons, including 'Malodrants' (stink bombs) - to be used to disperse crowds by making them gag and run away from the vile smell.
