Update

Katelyn is SO much better. We found out it was reflux and now she's on medicine that has helped her feel better. It's so nice to see her smiling and laughing again. It just makes a mom and dad super happy. :)
So there you have it. We are all happy. Well...except Allie who is crying in her bed because she does not want to take a nap. We can't always win can we?

Halloween is just a few days away. I love it. I'm excited and I love seeing everyone's pictures. So, make sure you share yours and we'll share ours.

Here is Doug's proud dad moment. Allie has been so great on the potty that we took her to pick out a toy. She could choose between wooden fruit that she can cut up or a tool box. She chose the tool box just like daddy's. He was beaming the whole night!

*Most of the time her car is broken and she needs to fix it* I love how they pretend. It's just so fun!

Job :)

Doug got a job!
We are so blessed.
It's a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Internship with the City of Meridian.
It's only 3 months...but maybe something more permanent will come from it.
Either way, we couldn't be more thrilled :)
Thanks for all the prayers!

4 days or less

My wonderful doctor understood that I didn't want to have this baby girl 8 days late. So, if she doesn't come on her own by Wed. June 23 then they will induce labor that morning at 7:00. Just thought some of you would like to know what's going on. Until then, we are going to enjoy all this time together and get a lot of stuff done!

See ya soon...
with a new babe...
I wonder what her name will be :)

Success

Just in case you haven't heard:

The baby turned great! The doctor pushed hard (and it hurt sooo bad) and she turned into the right place so fast they were all shocked. She is trying to settle herself down there and is moving like crazy. So hopefully in 2 weeks or less she'll let us all meet her!

Green Things

Baby Update:
I'm 37 weeks along and this little pumpkin is still breach. She hasn't dropped down too far so my doctor wants to do a "version." This is where they try to turn her by pushing on my stomach. Sounds fun huh? So this fun little ditty will be on Thursday morning. We are hoping for the best. In case the baby gets stressed, they push so hard that the placenta bleeds, or the umbilical cord gets tangled, they will be all ready for an emergency C-section.
We have a couple name choices, but we are so indecisive that you'll just have to wait until she's here.

(I realize how terrible this picture is. I'm shiny because I'm always hot and I'm swollen. But isn't that baby bump beautiful in it's own huge way!?)

Allie Update:

She loves her "new house." She refers to that every time we pull into the driveway. We have been spending a lot of time on the potty doing various activities such as: bubbles, books, toys, singing, eating, etc. She has yet to go on the potty however she is happy to try now. And she's always good to tell us AFTER she goes in her underwear or diaper. So we are making some SLOW progress there. She finally put her hand on my belly long enough to have the baby kick her and she loved it. I think she knows the baby is in there and it will just rock her world when the baby arrives.

Doug Update:

Doug is in Spokane as we speak finishing his internship and grad school. He will present his thesis and hopefully pass the oral exams so he can get that diploma. We will not be attending graduation since I will be hooked up to an IV the day before. Darn...I really wanted to watch him walk and be all dressed up. We can dream about it and celebrate in a different sort of way I suppose. He has worked so hard and we are proud of him beyond belief. Now if only that perfect job could just scoop him up!

Mar Update:

I am so pregnant. I feel huge. I don't want to go anywhere or do anything. I'm very fortunate that the weather has been so mild and lovely. In attempts to help the baby turn I have been doing strange yoga poses and weeding in our yard. Obviously it hasn't helped. I've enjoyed getting things in order and settling into our house. Although I cannot decorate for the life of me so I just continue to put that off. Maybe my mom will help me while she's here. I'm enjoying the time I have with Allie. She is just so full of life, so excited about small things that it really warms my soul. She always wants me to "come" and be right with her. It's hard because I want to do my own things most of the time, but how long will this last? Soon she'll want nothing to do with me. So I have to remind myself of that constantly. Just drop what I'm doing and PLAY.
I love the "cheese" smile. One fun play time today was making edible necklaces. Who doesn't love that?

We are good. Life is good. We are so blessed because of our Heavenly Father. We have had some trials of our faith and patience lately. This talk has been wonderful for us to refer to and bring us back to what is right.

We hope you are doing well. Leave a comment and tell us how things are going for you. Happy JUNE (which reminds me of my grandma June).

Any more school and I might just...

I can read for enjoyment now!! This is my first book and it got me wondering. So I went and bought a drill to test it out. Just kidding. Mar got me a drill for graduation. It's not just a chintzy, wussy drill either. It's my drill of choice from my cabinet making days. This definitely wins her the coolest wife ever award. Love you Mar!

We Made It!

The beautiful house we are renting from Larry and Luanne. It's just perfect...We love everything about it.

The last week in Spokane was so hard. We were living in a box jungle and realized how much we dislike moving. But it was all worth it. We arrived to Boise safe and sound and it was a smooth move. Luanne rode with the girls and Larry rode with Doug so the trip went very fast. We had wonderful help in Spokane and Boise and appreciated it so much (since I'm NO HELP AT ALL). Allie loves her "new house" and we love all the space and not having upstairs neighbors, etc...

We've been busy unpacking and getting somewhat organized. It has been so fun.

Doug turned his thesis in and will go back to Spokane to defend it in June. Then he will be officially done! Hooray!!!

Our new address is:
9596 W. Blue Meadows St.
Boise, ID 83709

Packin' Up

It's official. We are moving to Boise next Tuesday, May 18! Doug is still finishing things up with his thesis and his internship so he'll have to come back up to Spokane once or twice but I'm ready to move and get things in order before our baby girl arrives. We do not have a job yet, but this is where we need to be. So the job will come eventually. We have been packing like crazy this week. Allie actually LOVES it. She colors on the packed boxes, jumps on the flat boxes, and loves throwing stuff inside the boxes. I wonder if she really gets it.

We get to spend one more weekend with Doug's grandparents on Lake Pend' Oreille. So next time we blog we'll be in our new place. See ya then!

Come What May

In the next 2 months we will have 3 life changing events happen:

*May: Move to Boise, Idaho (and pay rent in a HOUSE...that's right, no more apartment for us)

*June: Doug graduates with his Master's in Urban and Regional Planning (and hopefully gets a real life job)

*Hopefully June: Have a baby

I am one who loves change. It's a time to re-evaluate, start over, organize, have excitement, etc. But there is so much anxiety that comes with it. It may just be that I'm pregnant but I'm freaking out about every little thing. I cannot wait to move and I know I will regret that someday because I'm not enjoying the here and now.

I. am. going. crazy. Waiting is not my strong point. Maybe we'll move this weekend instead, that will help.

And I can't make a post without a picture...she has no idea what will be happening and look how much fun she's having! I think she might help me relax and enjoy.

25 weeks and other news

This little girl is growing and kicking. I love knowing she's in there. We can't wait to meet her and see her personality. I'm nesting in a big way! Nothing can be out of place and everything must be clean. It's probably driving Doug and Allie crazy, but oh well. I've been spring cleaning which will help when we move so I don't mind.

Doug is done with the quarter which also means he's done with classes FOREVER! Next quarter he will be working on his thesis and doing an internship. It's crazy to see the end in sight but we are thrilled!

Allie turned 2 yesterday! We will post pictures soon, but there are so many to go through. She was definitely showing her true 2 year old colors yesterday as well. But we are happy to just enjoy this time we have with her before life gets crazy. She's so smart and talking our ears off! So keep checking for pictures.
