Life Is Sweet With Artisan Alternatives! Paper Pumpkin June 2024!

The Life Is Sweet June 2024 Paper Pumpkin kit is one of my favorites.  And I get to share a few alternatives using this kit!  I have already posted one of them, as well as photos of the kits contents (to see that post, click HERE), and today I am sharing a second one!

This card is made using pieces from the kit as well as the stamp set in the kit, the EXCLUSIVE Paper Pumpkin subscriber die set that coordinates with the April, May, & June kits, & the Seaside Wishes Bundle.

This photo below may make you think this is just a regular card, but it is much more than that!  This card is actually a fun group card AND bonus mini album!  Want to check it out?!

This is the card from the front.  I love how the Peach Pie ribbon pops against the Pretty In Pink card base.  The floral frame is from the kit, and the vellum underlay is also from the kit ... I just embossed that piece with the Exposed Brick Embossing Folder.

Then you untie the ribbon ....

...and flip the Pretty in Pink card front to partly open the card.  I love the die cuts and stamps from the Seaside Wishes Stamp Set & Dies.  Then the fun frame is from the Paper Pumpkin EXCLUSIVE Die set, Thanks & Beyond.  😍  (This is available as an add-on purchase for Paper Pumpkin subscribers ONLY!)

Then flip the Summer Splash card and ...

... SURPRISE!!!  A place for a photo and some cards (in the pockets of the envelope used to make this card!)

Both envelope pockets have cards inside where you could either put more photos and journaling or have your group write notes to the recipient!  You could even add more cardstock pieces if you needed to!

Here are a few more pics of the details:

I used a lot of the card bases and pieces from the kit as accents.  And the stamp set from the kit as well for the sentiments.

Want to know how I made it?!  Well here you go!  It is so easy!

You take two envelopes from the kit, and adhere them to a piece of Thick Basic White cardstock.  Then repeat for the other side with another piece of cardstock ... so the envelope flaps and sandwiched between the two.  This creates a really sturdy album.

Then you just add all the pieces to decorate!

This was so much fun to make!  Let me know if you have any questions on making one yourself!

Thank you for visiting!  I would love to help you with all you papercrafting needs so don't hesitate to reach out!

Pop Of Pink Flip-Book....And a Flashback...

So TOMORROW is my 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator (demo)!  Wow!  I kinda can't believe it.  I can't believe how grateful I am to be a part of such an amazing company--one that cares about people, cares about operating with integrity, cares about offering quality products, and the list goes on. I feel very lucky.

My club project this month was a throwback to one I made like this at the Founder's Circle I earned when I was a Rising Star.  (One of the top 15 new demo's the first full year that I was a demo...I was #10!)  One of our Make & Take's at this event was this fun flip-book album.  Here was my take on it that we did for club this month (I thought it would be easier to show you how it works with a video.  Then there are still pictures below)...

(Looks like the video didn't upload great.  Sorry for the bad quality.  I hope it at least gives you an idea of how it works.)

How fun is that?!  I hope you enjoy!  Here are picture of the album before pictures were added...

ColorsMelon Mambo, Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White, Cucumber Crush
StampsYou've Got This, Sunshine Sayings
Tools: Aqua Painter
Accessories: Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper, Pop of Pink Washi Tape, Watercolor Paper, Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, Gold Sequin Trim, Melon Mambo 1/8" Ribbon

This is the cover.  LOVE this flower from the "You've Got This" stamp set!  We colored it on watercolor paper with an Aqua Painter and ink. We added some glitter with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush after it was colored.  (***Note: you can actually use the Wink of Stella pen as your Aqua Painter also.)

Then here are the pages in order of how you open the book...

Sooooo...what do you think?!?!?!

Hope you enjoy!  Thanks so much for visiting!  Let me know if you have any questions! designwithink@gmail.com.

When You Need Something Special...

My Mom just celebrated a big milestone birthday.  I planned a big surprise party for her.  Part of the surprise was a fun album I made for her, from her whole family.  I wanted to have a picture of each member of our family with a note from them.  Well...since I wouldn't see a lot of the family until the day of the party...I had to be able to add the note last minute.  SOOOOOO...PROJECT LIFE to the rescue!  I ended up making her a 6x8 album, and everyone got their own page.  It went together really quickly and I'm super pleased with the results!  I kept everything really simple and didn't use much more than the Happy Times Project Life by Stampin' Up! Card Collection & Accessories, and the Gold Glitter Tape roll (FREE Sale-A-Bration item).

Here is the cover I glammed up a bit...

And the first page I wrote my mom a little note...

Then a couple of the pages (this was before everyone wrote their notes...so picture those on the blank cards)...

Then I had extra cute pics of everyone that I wanted to include...so I added those all at the end in some extra pages.  And look at that perfect card highlighting the extra pictures.

It ended up being quite a fun album and helped the most amazing woman in my life...my Mama!...feel special on her special day...which was the whole point!  So thanks, Project Life!

Beach Album...

In YESTERDAY'S post I told you I had another fun project to share that I made with the pillow box die. You're going to be amazed. :) Haha. Here it is...
How much fun! It's a little album! But can you see the pillow box yet?! No?! Well here you go...

Now can you?! Yup...it's the Summer Sun cardstock piece in the middle of the folder. I made an extended pillow box (click on this link if you need a reminder or didn't see it... http://designwithink.blogspot.com/2010/05/pillow-box-extended.html ) and then just folded it in half on the score line it already has to make 2 pockets to hold some pictures. Here is a picture of the whole album opened up...

I just used a velcro piece to hold the album closed. But when you open it up...you just pull on the 2 ribbon tags and these come out...
Two little tags with pictures on them! Tag #1...
And then Tag #2...
I LOVE this little mini album! I figured it was a perfect thing for my daughter to carry around (she LOVES mini things!) to remind her of the beach (one of her fave places to be!) while we aren't there! :) And yes...it's mini. Here it is next to a ruler so you can see...

Now you may be asking a few specifics at this point. Like where did the album cover come from?! Well another die for the Big Shot...of course! :) This is the "Bag With Scallops" die. Looks like this...

I just used the piece that is on the right side. Not the side pieces. And that made the cover for me...in a snap! I couldn't believe HOW PERFECT it all fit together! Also...the Designer Paper is from the Pink Flamingo paper pack in the main catalog. The colors are Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, and Summer Sun. Summer Sun is another color I am DEFINITELY going to miss when it retires in TWO MONTHS!!!!! Then the stamp set that I stamped "beach" with is in the new Mini catalog...the "Rough Type" one I used yesterday as well. And the flowers on the tags are made with the Boho Blossoms punch.
Thanks for visiting! Hope you enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions!

Mini Envelope Book...

I have to apologize for these pictures. I didn't realize until I uploaded them that they definitely aren't the best. But I've had this project done for weeks and haven't re-taken then yet. So thought I would share anyway and hope you get this gist of it. Because this was really fun to make. I just took mini envelopes and connected them all together with their flaps. Then made a cover for them, and tied a ribbon around it to keep it closed. What a FUN mini album! :) Here are the pics....
This is the book before it's all opened up. I used the Slumber Party textured Designer Series Paper for the cover, and then I used the Hostess Hand Drawn Bundle for the Designer Series Paper (on inside), rub-ons, and stamp set.

Cover of the book with the ribbon un-tied.
When you open up the first part of the cover, I put some more rub-ons on. Subtle touch.
When you open up the book this is what you get. There are 5 envelopes with inserts in them. I pulled them out a little bit so you could see them. Oh...the words on the tabs are from the Fundamental Phrases stamp set. Then I just decorated the envelopes with the Designer Series Paper in the bundle. Here it is from the backside. You can see the cover...and I just adhered the ribbon on the back center piece of the cover. Then I covered the back of the envelopes with Designer Series Paper and you could add pictures here too or whatever you wanted.

Here is a top view of what it looks like and how it's attached to the book, etc. Hope you enjoy! By the way....LOVING this color combo! It's Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, and Whisper White.

Fun With Punches...

I really love using punches for projects. You can do such cute and fun things with them. I wanted to showcase a little critter I made with punches on a fun project, so I decided to do a Clear Envelope Album. There is a tutorial HERE for the album. Then I've seen this little frog all over the place, and just kept him in the back of my mind in the "I want to do that someday" place. :) So I don't know where I originally got the inspiration. Sorry! I basically took the album I did HERE and just made it a bit more "boyish" or just less frilly. Here is the project:
How much fun is this! Here's the bummer...I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the book. I used 5 Clear Envelopes for mine, and then cut different color card stock for the inserts. I used Green Galore, Gable Green, and Apricot Appeal. (I just pulled the colors from the Designer Series Paper.)
Then HOW CUTE is that frog?! Love him. And HOW DELICIOUS is that JUMBO brad?! Those are the new Jumbo brads, the 5/8" size. Anyway: here are the pieces for the frog...
  • Wide Oval for face
  • 1 3/4" Circle for body
  • Large Oval for legs (you need 2)
  • Boho Blossoms punch for the feet (again...you need 2...one for each leg :) )
  • 3/4" Circle for white of eye
  • 1/2" Circle for black of eye

Then I just used a white gel pen to draw in the little white on the black of the eye. And i used a Basic Black Stampin' Write marker for the smile and just drew it myself. Isn't he just precious! :) Love him.

Matchbook Mini Album...Pizzazzy!

Could it be? Did I really have ANOTHER enlightened moment! Ok...now I'm NOT saying I am the first one to think of doing this. However...I have not seen one before so it was an enlightened moment for me. :) I wanted to do a Matchbook Fold Card. Well....I have mini albums on my brain because I have to make one for something. So as I was thinking about the card...I DECIDED TO TURN IT INTO AN ALBUM!!! Again...I'm sure there are a ton of smart people out there that have already done one of these. But it was a first for me. So here it is...my Matchbook Mini Album! I don't usually like figuring out measurements and how it would work and stuff, but it turned out FUN! :) And OF COURSE I had to use a new stamp set...Petal Pizazz. I LOVE this stamp set. It was a "I have to have it RIGHT now" stamp set for me. :) ***If you are interested...measurements for the album will be at the bottom of this post.***On to the album...
So...this is how it works. The cover of the album is tucked under the left hand side "flap" portion. Just like a matchbook...hence the name.

Here is a Bird's Eye View of the album. I tried to bow it out a bit so you can see how the cover is tucked in to the left hand side.A close up of the flower. I used one of Stampin' Up!'s AMAZING new Designer Hardware for the center of the flower. Now.....you only get one of each style in a package so you know I had to love this project to add this to it. :) I'm a hoarder of embellishments I don't have a lot of. :) By the way...I used CLEAR Rhinestone brads here! YES! I don't have to hoard the ones in my Pretties Kit anymore because Stampin' Up! now sells them individually!!!! (Well, in a package of them..not one by one. :) But you know what I mean.)

Now here is the album opened. There are 4 decorated pages. All stamped with that fabulous stamp set! :) Here is page 1. The pages are secured under those 2 brads.
Page 2. Each page is score 1" in, so that you can turn each page easy. (That leaves the finished page measuring 4 1/2" x 4 1/4".)
Page 3.

Page 4. I love the stamp set "warm words" and thought that went great with this album. I like how each page (and the cover) has a word and the paper piercing. I think it ties it all together.
MEASUREMENTS AND DIRECTIONS
1. Cut your card stock cover to 4 1/2" x 12". I used Chocolate Chip textured card stock here.
2. Score card stock cover (with the 12" end butted up against your cutter) at 7/8", 1", 6 3/4". (These are the measurements if you use just 4 pages. You made need to make a bigger "spine" if you add more pages. The 7/8" and the 1" score lines are what make the spine.)
3. Cut your pages to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used Very Vanilla for my pages.
4. Score pages at 1" with the 5 1/2" end butted up against your cutter. (This will make it easy to fold up the page to view the next page.
5. Insert your pages into the card stock cover you created. Line up the edge of your pages, with the 1" score line at the left, with the inside of the "spine" you made with your two score lines.
6. Punch 2 holes with your Crop-a-dile for brads. This will be what holds your pages into your album. I used Clear Rhinestone Brads here.
7. Decorate album and pages as you wish!
I hope this makes sense. Kinda in a hurry as I wrote this so let me know if something is not clear! Hope you enjoy! :)

Keeping It Simple With Friendly Fins & Ocean Friends!

The other day we had a fun Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  We were sharing things we love, and I dedicated my card to the ocean.  Hee.  I LOV...
