A bathroom BOO!!

Last night at book club, I learned that my friend, Alisha, did not decorate for Halloween.
Her kids, esp the October birthday boy, are dying to have Halloween decor up in their home
So, when I dropped my kids off at their house for seminary this morning, I walked into the bathroom, locked the door.,.and bedecked it in Halloween fun!

I took a few things from my stash that didn't leave the decor box.  But I took some time last night to design a "Boo!" frame for their BOO Bathroom using products from the Robin's Nest.

First I sanded this frame to give it a weathered look.
Then I dug through my Robin's Nest supplies and found this "boo" paper. I love the sparkles!

You can't go wrong with Googlie Eyes!
Glue Dots ® were used to adhere all the elements on this decorated frame.
I chose to use Advance Strength and Pop Up Relief to make sure it was secure as there are 4 kids in this vivacious family!

The Little Friends bat and snow angel (though I used it as an angelic ghost)
are also found on the RN website.
I added diamond shaped dew drops to embellish that bat!

These glitter die cuts made embellishing a cinch!
Who doesn't love dew drops!!
The Spider Brad is from the Eyelet Outlet.

This verticle strip of paper is Robin's Nest Famous Glitter Cardstock in black.
I opted to rip a page out of a dictionary for the newsprint.

Here are the two elementary kids...enjoy the surprise bathroom...
Boy, it is fun to make others happy!

Design Team Sisters!

One of the best parts of being on a design team is being design sisters with fun, craft-loving ladies who are creative and thoughtful and generous!  This Christmas, Lovebug Creations is having a secret sister swap.
Today, we are unveiling our hand made creations...

But without spilling the beans as to who it is being mailed to!

I chose to use  Lovebug Creations: Winter's Grunge to bedeck my projects.
These stylish 14 mm white pearl eyelets and sparkly jewel bling  from The Eyelet Outlet adds a bit of pizzazz!  I love how the jewel bling comes in various sizes...such fun to use to decorate paper crafts!

The Robin's Nest Winter Snowflakes paper is a nice start to my covered notebook project.

Shocking Pink Sorbet Robin's Nest Papers adds a warm splash against
the wintery blues of the Winter Snowflakes Paper from The Robin's Nest.

I'm including this awesome Staedtler pen,
a long with a few items from my gal's wish list!
Squeal..I love surprises!!

These darling stamps can be found at Starving Artistamps.

Peaceful Greetings...

Card Making is a "peace" of cake when you combine the festive
Robin's Nest Papers and embellishments along with Reddy Die Cuts from

Sentiment from Joy's Life.

These layers are perforated for easy separating from one another.
I used a sponge dauber to soften the edges in a caramel tan color.
Use foam mounting squares to make the layers pop!

All layers were added to a 4.5 x 6 inch Hunter Classic Glitter Cardstock Card Base.
To create the bow, I took a red linen square from The Robin's Nest and folded
it into an accordion.  Next, I used gold cord to tie it together.

A Craft Glue Dot ® is a strong way to stick fabric to your card!!

The gold StarForm Corner Mount Stickers also come from
Ecstacy Crafts Inc.  A little embellishment...with a lot of interest!

Perfect for those January cards you will be sending out,
if you are like me!

Ornament Hop!

Please start at The Robin's Nest Blog: Chattering Robins for the complete list of  participants!

I painted gesso onto a tree shape in Smoothfoam for my ornament base.
Then, I painted the sides in blue acrylic paint.
Clear Glitter gives it a snow like appearance.

Before painting, I made a template by tracing my Smoothfoam shape.
I used this template to cut out two tree shapes out of Robin's Nest Glitter Sorbet paper.
Sponge the edges. And used The Best Glue Ever from Scraperfect to glue down the paper,
as well as the multi colored/sized dew drops.

The ribbon comes from Robin's Nest:  Magic Ribbon.  Don't you love the festive colors!

Next, I chose to decorate the candy cane Smoothfoam form.
Gesso first...then mod podge to adhere the clear, chunky glitter.

I used The Robin's Nest Crimson Velvet Ribbon for the candy strips.
It is held down using Craft Glue Dots ®.

I used more Magic ribbon along with silver cording and jingle bells.

For both of these ornaments, I inserted an eyelet screw into each Smoothfoam before starting any embellishments!

Thanks for visiting me today!!

One Scary Night...

 This month,
designers from The Robin's Nest are teaming up
with the designers of Sin City Stamps
to bring you some spook-tacular designs!

Here I created a standing trifold easel card using

I used sickly yellow highlights to give some light
to this somber card.  Don't you just love that dew drops come in
a rainbow of colors!  I also colored the Gina laser cut out (after I trimmed it down),
to make a nice accent element.

Plan your support...

Earlier this month, I showed you how to create initials out of Creative Paperclay ®.
Easy as it seems, there does need to be some planning on these letters.

Amble over to the Creative Paperclay ® blog to see just what I am talking about.
Meanwhile, here is the Initial tutorial!

Creative Paperclay ® can be used to personalize your room.
Today, I'm going to show you how to create an initial out of this modeling airdry clay.
Once you get started, you will see many possibilities!

Supplies:
Creative Paperclay ®
Papers and dew drops from the Robin's Nest
Glue Dots ®
acrylic paint
gesso
brushes/tools
embellishments as you see fit
a shadow box

A few weeks ago I was just playing around with the Creative Paperclay ®.  What better way, that to make snakes!  Yeppers...go old fashioned clay snakes! But as I was musing and working with it, I realized I could use these long thin lines to create initials.

*Be sure to roll out extra lines in case you make a mistake.
*Work on a piece of plastic wrap or on a plastic frisbee so that you can pick up your modeling clay easily
to flip it as it is drying.
*Think about what sort of font will be appropriate for the style/theme of shadow box.

Here, I created an A with lots of curls and swirls, because I am making a shadow box
for a little tweener girl!  Let it dry.  Seal it with Gesso.

Paint with acrylic paint. You  will want to give it a few coats.
One trick I use when I am painting is to paint the bottom first.
Then, paint the edges and sides once that bottom is dry.  That way, you won't have your piece sticking
to your work surface.
After it was dry, I sealed it with Mod Podge.
Again, back first, then front.

Then comes time for the fun and bling and embellishment!
I used various sizes of Glue Dots ® to adhere the dew drops to the primas, and
the primas to my shadow box.
Remember, more layers can me more interest!
Glue the Creative Paperclay ® Initial on top of the shadow box.

Remember to think about the edges of your shadow box as well!

There is going to be one happy girl once she receives this pink and green and zebra striped
shadow box...with her initial!

Get Your Boo On!

There is a chill in the air...
Goblins everywhere.
Better stock up on Transylvania Papers from The Robin's Nest.
This collection is 20% off this month!
There is so many creepy patterns to choose from.

While you are shopping, add some chipboard bats to your cart.
The purple ones are eye catching glittery!

Glitz papers...and a hinge card!
A few more Jewel bling helps your eye move around the card!

Closed...

Open...
The top part continues to open up and reveal a space for you to
jot down a silly Halloween joke or riddle!

Hey...remember that The Robin's Nest have some great Rub Ons too!
Here I used them instead of a sentiment stamp.
And, they are on the inside of the card...but I forgot to snap a pix.
I doctored up the chipboard pumpkins by adding Green Goddess and Green Leaves Rumple Ribbon from Lovebug Creations!  I love the two different tones of green on these glitzy pumpkins!

Mini Glue Dots ® adhere the mini dew drops to their place!
