Homecoming Shopping

We went High School Homecoming dress shopping and did well at Dillard's--we ended up with one dress for Homecoming and one dress for Prom.

Fall Fun

Each year, there is an "apple festival" about 1-1/2 hours away in Tehachapi, CA.  We hit a couple recommended orchards (Knaus and Pulford) for apple picking.  After that, we continued on about another 1/2 hour to Bakersfield (Family Farm) for more fall fun and pumpkin picking.  On our way back, we stopped in Tehachapi for dinner (at a BBQ restaurant--Red House) in which every single item ordered by each one of us was absolutely amazing!

General Conference

Every six months, we enjoy watching General Conference--a worldwide church gathering of talks by head Church officials--that span two days.  For traditions, we splurge on all the "fun food" and complete paper packets full of games, pictures, and questions.  This year, I purchase Challah bread from a local Russian sister.

San Diego

The day after Parker's birthday, I left for a work trip to San Diego (3-1/2 to 4 hour drive).  I enjoyed the beautiful views from my hotel in Point Loma and "caught" up on my American foods like (American) Starbucks hot chocolate and The Cheesecake Factory.  Plus, eat some very missed ethnic foods.  I also got to spend about 24 hours out in El Centro (about 1-3/4 hours to the east)...where the Blue Angels practice during the winter time.
