iPad Ibis

A while back I went to the beach and took some photos of some Ibises feeding at the waters edge. I've painted one really small, 4"x4", and one rather large, 36"x36", in oils. I thought this one should be painted differently so I pulled out the iPad and dusted off my stylus!

Now, if I could just get transported back to that spot for the day...or maybe a bit longer would be nice.

Ibises WIP 3 & 4

Happy Thanksgiving week!

The ibises have gained quite a bit of color and texture and I got to use my Catalyst Blade and Wedge! Fun! The only bummer is that the blade seems to be obtaining a permanent bend in the rubber part of the handle. I noticed that I'm using it in one direction 90% of the time which is clearly the cause. I'm going to have to think on what I can do about that.

Ibises WIP 1

It's cold and I'm dreaming of warm weather and the beach! With the beach on the brain I remembered a painting which I'd planned on doing a couple of years ago of two Ibises at the ocean's edge. I sketched it out then moved it to the attic for one reason or another and had forgotten about it. I dug the poor neglected birds out over the weekend and worked on the underpainting.

Here's the final scan of the ibis which I posted a few weeks ago as a work in progress. When blogger when down, that post was lost and though they say they're working on recovering it, I'm not having a lot of faith that I'll see it again so here's the work in progress again.
