Create your own mini album using one 12 x 12 paper!

Hello Crafty Friends!

We all have scrapbook paper that we would love to use on a unique or special project.  Admittedly, I have a lot of treasured papers that are longing for use.  These papers are either "to pretty" to use or I bought them but have no idea how to incorporate them into a project.

One day I grabbed one of those pretty papers and decided to play.  I ended up creating a sweet mini album with pockets- horizontal, side, and top opening.  Quick and easy to create, this project will have you making more than one!

On Sunday's weekly YouTube Live, I shared the project.  For the mini I used one of my favorite all time paper collections: Graphic 45's Nature Sketchbook.

After the tutorial video was completed, I finished the project by adding tags, little journal cards, and some ribbons.  It was a great project to use of some of my scrap pieces!

It is such a sweet mini and I love the finished results.  A perfect project for when you only have an hour or two to craft but want to feel like you finished a lot!  😁

Feel free to check out my other videos: @kathyjocrafts

You can catch the weekly lives every Sunday morning at 10 am AST/ 8am CST.  The videos are always available after.

Have a happy, crafty day!
Big hugs,
Kathy Jo

Video Tutorial: Fancy fold Christmas

Hello Crafty Friends!

It is new release time at Quietfire Design!  Suzanne just released a new set of rubber Christmas/winter stamps.  You can find all of the new stamps here:  http://www.quietfiredesign.ca/What-s-New/

Last Sunday on the Suzanne Cannon Fan Group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/Suzanne.Cannon.fan.group/) I shared a video showing three cards created using the new stamps and asked for crafters to vote for which card they wanted as a tutorial.  The fancy fold Christmas card won the vote so yesterday I shared a FB Live tutorial:

Every Thursday is FB Live on the Quietfire Design FB page (7pm EST/4pm PST).  Feel free to check it out!  Also, every Sunday on the Fan Group is Show Me Sunday!  Pop in to see what crafty friends are creating...we would love to have you!

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.

Graphic 45 2018 Brand Ambassador Audition

Hello Crafty Friends.

Today is a special day at I'm a Little Teapot: this post is my audition for the Graphic 45 2018 Ambassador Team!  I am a huge cheerleader for Graphic 45.  I love using their product on my crafty projects as the paper collections are full of beautiful, timeless patterns that make my heart smile.  Their albums make it simple to create gorgeous Graphic 45 projects and I adore their metal embellishments.  And now, the cherry on top: they have metal dies!  As you can probably guess, I am happy and honored to try out to be a Brand Ambassador.

Below are two projects I would like to submit for the Brand Ambassador Audition.  I do hope you enjoy the projects as much as I enjoyed making them!

Project 1: Enchanted Forest album

For my first project I would like to share an album created using Graphic 45's Enchanted Forest collection, Artisan Style collection and Kraft album.  Below are photos from the album.  Also shared is a video of the album showing all of the pocket inserts and other details.

Project 2: Seasons fancy fold card with instructions

For my second project, I would like to share an easy to make fancy fold card using the Seasons paper collection:

The card is fun to make and you will find yourself making several!  Let's jump right in...

Materials list (all dimensions in inches):
Seasons 8 x 8 pages Spring and Spring Collective
5 x 12 card stock for base (purple)
3 x 4.25 card stock (yellow)
3.75 x 4.75 ivory patterned paper (there are many ivory Graphic 45 choices) or card stock
Double sided foam tape
Double sided tape
Liquid adhesive
Ribbon
Scoreboard
Fussy cutting scissors
Optional: ink or metallic markers for edging, embellishments

Instructions (all dimensions in inches):
  1. Cut four 1.75 x 4.75 rectangles from back of Spring paper.  (Optional: apply ink or metallic marker to edges.)
  2. Cut out required images from Spring Collective.  You will need the postage stamp row and the Spring image.
  3. Cut postage row to 3.75 and mount to the 3.75 x 4.75 ivory patterned paper.  (Optional: apply ink of metallic marker to edges.)
  4. Create card base: Score purple card stock at 4 and 8.  Flip paper over and score at 2 and 10.  Fold as shown.
  5. Mount rectangles from Step 1 to card base as shown.
  6. Mount ivory assembly from Step 3 to inside as shown.
  7. Mount Spring image to yellow card stock using double sided foam tape.
  8. Apply double sided tape to one half of the Spring image.  (You want the image to mount on the left side of the card front.)
  9. Mount to card front.
  10. Embellish as desired.  Bows and butterflies are always beautiful!
  11. Sit back and smile at your completed first double fold gate card!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed both projects. Creating with Graphic 45 product is a pleasure and I really appreciate you stopping by my little place in the blogosphere!

Have a happy, crafty day!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Joy" Flip card using Graphic 45 Winter Wonderland

Hello Crafty Friends!

As I am writing this blog post, one of my sweet kitties (Pepper) is curled up between my keyboard and my arms.  She is purring away and giving head butts every moment she can.  There are many sources of joy in my life- moments like this are included on my joy list.  It is fitting that she here while I write this post to share the latest Christmas card, "Joy".

The fancy fold card base was created using a flip fold die from Sizzix.  Red card stock was used as the base.  Graphic 45's Winter Wonderland supplied the coordinating patterned papers and fussy cut flowers/stamps.  The Joy die was used to cut gold metallic construction paper.
A Sakura Calligraphy Marker was used to apply the gold on all of the edges.  More gold construction paper was used to die cut the vertical edge (die from the same set) and Nuvo Drops were applied as shown
On the back of the flip, I left the area blank to write a sentiment and sign.
It is difficult to see in the photos, but Stickles was also used in the flower centers and on the stamps.  The card is definitely joyous and glittery.  :)
The card looks complicated to make but the dies and patterned paper did most of the work.  It is a neat style of card because it has dimension but flattens well and is easy to mail.

Hope your day is full of crafty fun and joy!
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Kathy Jo
