Create your own mini album using one 12 x 12 paper!

Hello Crafty Friends!

We all have scrapbook paper that we would love to use on a unique or special project.  Admittedly, I have a lot of treasured papers that are longing for use.  These papers are either "to pretty" to use or I bought them but have no idea how to incorporate them into a project.

One day I grabbed one of those pretty papers and decided to play.  I ended up creating a sweet mini album with pockets- horizontal, side, and top opening.  Quick and easy to create, this project will have you making more than one!

On Sunday's weekly YouTube Live, I shared the project.  For the mini I used one of my favorite all time paper collections: Graphic 45's Nature Sketchbook.

After the tutorial video was completed, I finished the project by adding tags, little journal cards, and some ribbons.  It was a great project to use of some of my scrap pieces!

It is such a sweet mini and I love the finished results.  A perfect project for when you only have an hour or two to craft but want to feel like you finished a lot!  😁

Feel free to check out my other videos: @kathyjocrafts

You can catch the weekly lives every Sunday morning at 10 am AST/ 8am CST.  The videos are always available after.

Have a happy, crafty day!

Weekly projects video! Altenew, Graphic 45, Crafter's Companion, Spectrum Noir and Quietfire Design

Hello Crafty Friends!

Do you get to craft often?  I do hope you can.  Just stealing 15 minutes in a day to color, stamp, or fussy cut can be a great way to unwind.  I encourage you all to take time for yourself to do so.  You deserve it!

I try to create every day and some weeks I find that many projects are completed.  Last Sunday I was tidying up my crafty area and took a good look at what had been accomplished during the week.  It was then that I did a spur of the moment Facebook Live to share my crafty projects.  Here is the video of completed projects:

The week was full of projects using product from Altenew, Graphic 45, Crafter's Companion, Spectrum Noir, and Quietfire Design.

I will create separate blog posts for the projects with proper product links.  In the meantime, here are links to stores carrying the product used:

Hello Crafty Friends!

Yesterday in the Suzanne Cannon Fan Group, I shared a card using the lovely stamp, The Best Thing- Believe in You stamp:

Lovely layered Friends card

Happy Friday!

Today is a happy day...I start my "staycation"!  Woo-who!  I plan on hanging with the hubby and furries, playing in the garden, visiting friends and, of course, crafting.  To celebrate this happy day, I wanted to share a happy card.

The gorgeous dies stealing the show are designed by Marisa Job for Spellbinders.  The flowers are from the die set Rose Buds and the lovely lattice is Swirl Lattice.
Isn't the heart on top of the lattice beautiful?  It is so delicate and romantic.  Love it!
The inside of the flowers have flower stamens from Heartfelt Creations.  I also added Stickles to the flower petal centers.

All of the papers are from Graphic 45's Secret Garden collection.
I hope you enjoyed this cheery, floral Friends card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great weekend!
Big hugs,
Kathy Jo

The only time you should ever look back....

Hello Sweet Crafty Friends.

I just wanted to pop in today to share some love and inspiration.

Let's face it, life is no easy journey.  Sometimes our path is smooth, straight and takes us through areas full of sunshine, rainbows and lollipops.  Then sometimes we are slowly sludging through 2 feet of mud with the rain beating down on us.  No matter what part of life you are at right now, keep your chin up and fight on.  You can do this.  Try not to let the past weigh you down either.  I know it can be tough.  But remember: The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you've come.

The awesomely inspiring quote above is a stamp from Quietfire Design.  I thought that I would frame it with a Polaroid die as many old photos we look back at are Polaroids.  The bright yellow background was created using Dylusions sprays.
I do hope this little project brought some inspiration and love to your day.  If you want to create a similar project for someone, the product links are below.   (FYI: at the time of this post, I found the Polaroid die on clearance!  I made sure to share that link!)

Product used:
Quietfire Design: The only time stamp
Bo Bunny: Polaroid die
Ranger Ink: Dylusions Sprays and Archival ink
Graphic 45: Nature Sketchbook patterned paper

Thank you for stopping by.

Graphic 45 Nature Sketchbook mini album

Hello Crafty Friends!

Yesterday my friends and I attended a day long fundraising crop.  Oh- I had such a great time!  All of us crafty gals collected a lot of food for a local food bank.  (Feels awesome to help out people in need!)  We spent the whole day crafting, smiling, and chatting.  Gotta love craft days spent with friends. :)

I usually attend crops with a large project to work on.  The project for yesterday's crop was a mini-album using Graphic 45's Nature Sketchbook collection.  The album is quite big and full of beautiful Graphic 45 details.  Because of the amount of album details, I am sharing not only some photos of the album but also a YouTube video.

Below are some pics of the album.  I fussy cut a lot of butterflies and some bees for it...and I had a blast doing it.  It may not be summer here but my desk looked like summer with all of the colorful butterflies on it!

The front of the album has several fussy cutbutterflies.  I really like how the Monarch butterfly pops against the gold doily.

The spine has three very wee butterflies fussy cut on it.  Can you find them?  (hint: one is in the metal label holder)

Here are some photos from inside of the album.  Love the colors in this collection!
Chipboard, flower punchouts, tabs & pockets and stickers from the Nature Sketchbook collection were used throughout the album.

The envelope opens to reveal three envelopes with more embellishments and cards tucked inside.

Doesn't the collection make you think of summer beauty?  It makes me yearn for summer in my gardens seeing butterflies flutter by.
