Foiling Fun! Radiating "Love you"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Have you tried Crafter's Companion FoilPress?  It is an amazing little tool and adds a whole new level to your papercrafting.  I keep the machine on my craft desk and consider it one of my "must haves".
Crafter's Companion - Gemini - FoilPress Machine
The card today features the "Love you" radiating Foil Stamp 'n' Cut die.
Gemini FOILPRESS Elements Radiating Stamp 'N' Cut Die - Love You
The Radiating Foil Stamp was used with Berry foil onto Kraft card stock.  It was cut to size and Spectrum Noir Water Reactive inks were applied to the edges for a vintage look.
Crafter's Companion Luxury Glitter card stock is a fabulous pairing with foiled stamp dies.  (The red and gold luxury card stocks are always nearby my crafty space.)
As a heads up regarding the foils: Crafter's Companion offers two types of foils, Papercraft and Multi-surface.  If you plan on foiling only paper then the Papercraft is your choice.  (Several times I have made a shopping card and added the wrong foil type.  Luckily I caught the error when double checking my cart.)

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a happy, crafty day.
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Video Tutorial: simple yet stunning Valentine's Day / Love cards using Quietfire Design

Hello Crafty Friends!

Every Thursday on the Quietfire Design Facebook page we have a FB Live.  Usually the talented designer and owner, Suzanne Cannon, delights us with her tutorials.  Every so often I pop in and share a technique or tutorial.  This week I shared how to create two different Love/Valentine's Day cards using the Quietfire Design set, Love/Valentine's Day:

Valentine's Day/Love, set of 8 stamps - Mounted

It is a beautiful set of eight rubber stamps featuring gorgeous calligraphy details.

The first tutorial featured was a simple, yet lovely card using the ornate heart stamp and the "Have I told you lately that I love you" stamps:

The second card was also simple to make with stunning results.  The stamps look gorgeous embossed in the Modern Gilding Powders:

Hello Crafty Friends!

Love is in the air...and in my craft room.  I created an "I love you" card using a few different Quietfire Design stamp sets.  Mixing and matching Quietfire Design stamp sets sparks your creativity and gets even more uses for your stamp sets.
This card was shared on the Quietfire Creations blog so feel free to hop on over to see the product used and info on how I created it.

"...I love you" card and gift box set

Hello Crafty Friends!

Last week I shared a project using the beautiful Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish.  This weekend I played in the craft room with polish's sparkly cousin: Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss.  Like the polish, the Glitter Kiss is packaged with its own applicator.  (The applicator means cleaner hands and the lid provides applicator storage.)

I tried the Glitter Kiss several ways: applying over the entirety of a piece of card stock, die cutting "kissed" card stock (no issues or touch up needed), through a stencil and using a small paint brush to apply on small areas.  One thing I did not know was how to correctly apply it over a large area with the applicator.  The best way to apply over a large area is to swipe the applicator onto the paper in one direction, turn 90 degrees and swipe, turn 90 then swipe and 90 then swipe.  It sounds like a lot of time but the results are worth it.  And the Glitter Kiss dries quickly, too.

The first project made with the Glitter Kiss was a glittery heart favor box.  This sweet favor box is a great gift idea or favor box for a Valentine's Day gift, a wedding or anniversary celebration.  After the favor box was completed, I created a matching card.

(All product used is listed at the end of the post.)

Favor Box Instructions:
  1. Die cut patterned paper using gift favor die.  Two required.  Apply gold marker along edges.
  2. Use heart spray stencil and apply Glitter Kiss.  (It is best to secure stencil with washi tape to prevent stencil from sliding.)
  3. Die cut patterned paper using box die from gift favor die set.
  4. Assemble box.  (here is a video tutorial for assembly)
  5. Stamp sentiment onto coordinating paper using red archival ink.  Clean stamp and tap Glitter Kiss onto stamp.  Re-stamp sentiment.  After drying die cut with tag die and apply gold marker along edges.
  6. Apply Glitter Kiss to card stock (red is best) and die cut using key die.
  7. Create bow and add gold twine to hang the tag and key.
  8. Apply Glitter Kiss to red card stock.  Die cut using heart lace die.  Adhere to back of favor box.  (Keep the wee heart die cut from the center to use on the card front.)
The favor box is so cute- whoever receives it will adore it!

Next is the matching card.  It has several layers of die cuts and beautiful calligraphy stamps from Suzanne Cannon of Quietfire Design.

Card Instructions:

  1. Die cut red card stock twice using Ornamental Crest Die.  Apply Glitter Kiss to the front of one die cut.  After drying, adhere to front of plain die cut using liquid adhesive.
  2. Create support for card using red card stock.
  3. Die cut gold card stock using lace heart die.
  4. Apply Glitter Kiss to red card stock and die cut using classic heart die.
  5. Stamp both text stamps onto patterned paper.  Die cut the largest text using smallest die in the Ornamental Crest set.  (Save the outer frame as the background beneath the hearts.) Cut the "I love you" into a rectangle.  Apply gold marker along edges.
  6. Assemble all die cuts from step 5 onto card front.
  7. Create double bow and adhere to front.
I do hope you enjoyed the favor box and coordinating card!  I really like how the set shimmers with the beautiful red Glitter Kiss.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a happy, crafty day!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Let your heart guide you"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Have you ever read a quote that has taken you back to a moment in time?  The quote on the card I am sharing today has done that very thing.  It takes me back to the first time I met my husband.  I remember that moment so clearly:  it was the first day at my new job and my boss wanted me to meet my project leader.  As my future hubby walked up to me all sound was muted...I could feel my heart beat.  My inner voice gasped and breathlessly said "oh".  Yes, that all sounds silly but that is what happened.  Of course, my next internal voice statement was something like "I am going to love working here".  (Big smiles.)  Anyway, the point of that story is that my heart muted my world so that it could faintly tell me what it felt.  I definitely listened!

Now about that card...

The focal point of the card is the lovely quote from Suzanne Cannon's (for Elizabeth Craft Designs) Love & Hearts stamp set:
Also used is Elizabeth Craft Designs' Romantic Corners die set:
The card has several layers but is quite easy to create.

"Only from the heart can you touch the sky"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Last weekend it was my turn to post at Elizabeth Craft Designs and Valentine's Day was the theme of the project.  Unlike yesterday's posted card, this card is considered clean and simple.  The hearts and sweet quote are from Suzanne Cannon's stamp set, Love & Hearts:
A balloon was created using two of the hearts stamps.
The quote is too sweet!

For card instructions, please feel free to hop on over to the ECD post.  :)
