Hello!
Oh! I have been waiting a month to share this card. It was created for my hubby so I could not share it on social media until now. He is a big fan of Halloween and the cheesy horror movies. (Actually, he is in the other room now watching a cheesy horror film. LOL. He cracks me up.)
This card was a hodgepodge of different papers (Tim Holtz, Recollections, etc). The cool dog x-ray is a stamp! So awesome...
It seemed fitting to add Tim Holtz' "Bone Collector" tag to the front. Hehehe.
Off to make treat bags! Thanks for stopping by!
Have a Happy Halloween!
Big Hugs,
Kathy Jo

Crafter's Companion Vintage Candles Christmas card
Hello hello!
Is this a busy crafting time of year or what? I love it! There is always a perfect excuse to be in the craft room whether is is making a Halloween treat bag or a Thanksgiving card or a Christmas project. Today's project is Christmas: a vintage looking poinsettia and candle card. (My apologies for not supplying more photos- this was one of the cards sent for the TSC show and I only took a couple of good photos before shipping the card off.)
The card used Crafter's Companion Christmas Candles stamp and die set and Luxury Card Stock. The candles and background papers used water color paper. I water colored the candles and poinsettias using Distress Markers but this also could have been done with other water based inks. For extra awesome I added Stickles to the candle flames. :)
Really like the antiqued look of the card. After looking at this I realize that it would be neat to try different colors for the poinsettias...hmmm...I think I see another project!
Thanks for stopping by!

"Destiny is not a matter of chance"
Hello Crafty Friends!
Decided to pull out the Dylusions Sprays again and create a bright mixed media card. After the inky fun I used a newly released stamp from Quietfire Design, Destiny is not a matter of chance.
The butterfly and Soar dies are also designed by Suzanne for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The brick background was die cut using Tim Holtz' Mixed Media Thinlits die set #3. All of the enamel dots in the corners and on the butterfly body were created using Enamel Accents by Wendy Vecchi.
Gotta love getting all inky and playing with mixed media product! Of course it is always great to inspire someone, too. :)
Product used:
Quietfire Design: Destiny is not a matter stamp, Soar die, Butterfly Flourish die
Ranger Ink: Dylusions Sprays, Vintage Photo Distress ink, Wendy Vecchi Enamel Dots, Jet Black Archival Ink
Sizzix: Tim Holtz Mixed Media #3 Thinlit die set
Thanks for stopping by! Have a happy, crafty day. :)

It has been a week since my last post but for good reason: I have been playing with Quietfire Design and Elizabeth Craft Designs new releases. I cannot share the ECD projects yet but I can share Quietfire Design. :)

- Wrap and adhere coordinating twine.
- Stamp quote onto white card stock using black archival ink. Dry.

"...I love you" card and gift box set
Hello Crafty Friends!
Last week I shared a project using the beautiful Cosmic Shimmer Metallic Gilding Polish. This weekend I played in the craft room with polish's sparkly cousin: Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss. Like the polish, the Glitter Kiss is packaged with its own applicator. (The applicator means cleaner hands and the lid provides applicator storage.)
I tried the Glitter Kiss several ways: applying over the entirety of a piece of card stock, die cutting "kissed" card stock (no issues or touch up needed), through a stencil and using a small paint brush to apply on small areas. One thing I did not know was how to correctly apply it over a large area with the applicator. The best way to apply over a large area is to swipe the applicator onto the paper in one direction, turn 90 degrees and swipe, turn 90 then swipe and 90 then swipe. It sounds like a lot of time but the results are worth it. And the Glitter Kiss dries quickly, too.
The first project made with the Glitter Kiss was a glittery heart favor box. This sweet favor box is a great gift idea or favor box for a Valentine's Day gift, a wedding or anniversary celebration. After the favor box was completed, I created a matching card.
(All product used is listed at the end of the post.)

Favor Box Instructions:
- Die cut patterned paper using gift favor die. Two required. Apply gold marker along edges.
- Use heart spray stencil and apply Glitter Kiss. (It is best to secure stencil with washi tape to prevent stencil from sliding.)
- Die cut patterned paper using box die from gift favor die set.
- Assemble box. (here is a video tutorial for assembly)
- Stamp sentiment onto coordinating paper using red archival ink. Clean stamp and tap Glitter Kiss onto stamp. Re-stamp sentiment. After drying die cut with tag die and apply gold marker along edges.
- Apply Glitter Kiss to card stock (red is best) and die cut using key die.
- Create bow and add gold twine to hang the tag and key.
- Apply Glitter Kiss to red card stock. Die cut using heart lace die. Adhere to back of favor box. (Keep the wee heart die cut from the center to use on the card front.)
The favor box is so cute- whoever receives it will adore it!
Next is the matching card. It has several layers of die cuts and beautiful calligraphy stamps from Suzanne Cannon of Quietfire Design.

Card Instructions:
- Die cut red card stock twice using Ornamental Crest Die. Apply Glitter Kiss to the front of one die cut. After drying, adhere to front of plain die cut using liquid adhesive.
- Create support for card using red card stock.
- Die cut gold card stock using lace heart die.
- Apply Glitter Kiss to red card stock and die cut using classic heart die.
- Stamp both text stamps onto patterned paper. Die cut the largest text using smallest die in the Ornamental Crest set. (Save the outer frame as the background beneath the hearts.) Cut the "I love you" into a rectangle. Apply gold marker along edges.
- Assemble all die cuts from step 5 onto card front.
- Create double bow and adhere to front.
I do hope you enjoyed the favor box and coordinating card! I really like how the set shimmers with the beautiful red Glitter Kiss.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a happy, crafty day!
Hugs,
Kathy Jo

"Joy" deer card
Hello Crafty Friends!
I don't know about you, but I enjoy making holiday cards as you can create so many different styles of cards depending on color, texture, complexity, simplicity, whatever! The card that I am sharing today uses an older Sizzix Tim Holtz deer die and papers/die cuts I had in my stash- except the Joy die which is a new release. So, let's jump right into the instructions...
Instructions:
Love the texture of the card- the glitter, the felted brocade, the smooth glitter paper and the crackle deer texture.

I could not find the deer or the white crazing (Tim's Holtz' white Crackle paint) that I used (perhaps no longer made?) but I did find this set which may be a good substitute. It looks like the crazing will need the deer card base to be white before die cutting. I like the new deer die set...may have to buy it!!

So, let's jump right into the instructions...
Instructions:
- Create 5x5 tent fold card from white card stock.
- Cut velvet brocade paper (from my stash- I believe it was Recollections) smaller than card base. Mount with double sided tape.
- Die cut gold paper using doily die and mount to card base using liquid adhesive (or use a doily die from your stash)
- Die cut deer from chipboard (I used the base of a finished paper pad). Apply white crackle and air dry. (if you use a heat tool on the crackle, you make get unsightly bubbles on the surface)
- Apply Distress inks all over deer and darker ink along edges of deer.
- Adhere ribbon around deer neck. Mount to doily using double sided foam tape and liquid adhesive.
- Die cut white card stock using a pennant die (or just cut pennant by hand).
- Die cut Joy from red glitter paper or die cut from card stock and add glitter. Mount to pennant using liquid adhesive.
Love the texture of the card- the glitter, the felted brocade, the smooth glitter paper and the crackle deer texture.

"Love" Christmas Ornament card
Hello Crafty Friends!
It is my turn to share a project at Quietfire Creations and I created a cheerful holiday ornament card using the newly released die set, Love Joy & Peace Ornament:
This happy card was a joy to make. The die set is so pretty that I kept die cutting more card stock after the card was complete and made more cards using the set. (It looks gorgeous with the ornament die cut in foil or glitter paper!)
For instructions, hop on over to Quietfire Creations ...and feel free to leave some love. :)

Simple "Wanderlust" card
Hello Crafty Friends.
Many thanks to everyone who left comments on the CardMaker magazine/Quietfire Design blog hop post this weekend. The winner has not been announced yet but I wish you all the best of luck!
Today's project is very much so different than the last post with layering of die cuts. This card took only a few minutes to make but I really like how it turned out. It also used a stamp that I enjoy using on projects, Wanderlust, by Quietfire Design.
