Karen N here from Craftily Yours, excited to be sharing today's mixed media birthday post made with these wonderful Jillibean products available at the Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supply Store!

To create the background, I pulled out all my Tim Holtz distress paints and Dylusions sprays in gold, blue, yellow and pink to match the pretty paper and just started splatting. Splat, splat, splat. I had splats everywhere! Fun! After it all dried, I wanted to add a beige tone, so I added some distress ink in Antique Linen. And of course, I needed something sparkly - i.e. sequins.

Mixed Media - 14-22: Father's Day

Weekly Challenge Orange Team 14-22

This week the Orange team is making Father's Day projects, and used
Lawn Fawn Float My Boat stamps and Authentique Anchored paper line.
These products and much more can be found in the

Hey there, Karen N here from Craftily Yours. Eek, could this stamp set from Lawn Fawn BE any cuter?! Seriously! And this paper is SO perfect for the masculine cards! I used it to make a Father's Day cards for my husband and my father.

On this first one for my dad, I used a Tim Holtz stars layering stencil and some Gesso mixed with Adirondack Denim color-wash to create the stars. I decided it looked like a rustic blue, so then I tore the paper to create the layers and used my Diztress-It-All to distress up the edges. The Timeless Twine in Natural seemed like the perfect finish.

And I had a BUNCH of the gesso mixture left, so I used an UmWow Studio stencil to add some hearts to my husband's distressed-up card. In this one, some 3 Girl JAM burlap ribbon finished it up.

Both images are colored with Tim Holtz distress watercolor markers.

Mixed Media : Orange Team 14-20

This week the Design Team used the
Paper Smooches Circle of Honor stamp set and
Doodlebug Patriotic Parade papers in their projects. These
are both available in the Cuttin and Stampin Scrappy Supply Store.

Our new challenge is to make a project
celebrating Memorial Day. There are so many
groups that collect cards for our soldiers and veterans, please
consider making a card for a hero to thank them for their service.

Karen N here from Craftily Yours. Many of you know that my youngest son is deployed in South Korea in the U.S. Army. He's been gone for 11 months, and I miss him terribly. The good news is that he'll be home in about a month, so I used this fabulous paper and stamp set to create him a card.

I used distress paints to create the background. Then I sprayed Mr. Huey's Overdue Color Mist through the lines Tim Holtz Stencil. The fabulous vellum dots helped to tone down that BRIGHT red! The stars are UmWow Studio Confetti Chipboard covered with liquid pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks to all of our military and their families. <3

Mixed Media Day - Orange Team: 14-18

Orange Team 14-18
Traditional Mother's Day
This week our challenge is to make
traditional Mother's Day projects, and that includes flowers!
The design team used the Paper Smooches Pretty Momma
stamp set and items from the Bazzill Vintage Marketplace
and Vintage Lace collection, and all these items

Karen N here from Craftily Yours! So excited to be sharing with you a Momma's Day card today with a little bit of mixed media. Here's what I did!

That gorgeous flower stamp from the Paper Smooches Pretty Momma set is colored with Tim Holtz Distress Markers. I added some 3 Girl JAM Crinkle Ribbon for a bow, a wee bit of Tim Holtz distress ink in Tea Dye and some UmWow Studio Butterfly confetti covered with Liquid Pearls. I wanted that flower to pop a little so before I fussy cut it, I added a layer of Tim Holtz Frosted Film. Look how shimmery!

And of course, I had to add a sentiment and butterfly to the inside.

I totally love how this card turns out. I was in labor with my oldest baby 21 years ago on Momma's Day.....and his 21st birthday falls on that special day this year. So proud of that kid! Hope your Momma's day is super special too!

Craftily yours,

Karen

Mixed Media Day: Orange Team 14-16

Orange Team 14-16 Challenge
April Showers
April is more than half over, and we can't get to
the May flowers without the April showers, so that's
this week's challenge - April Showers.
The Design Team has made some great projects using
the Pink Paisley Hello Sunshine stamp set and Paper Collection
which are both available in the

Happy Saturday, Cuttin' and Stampin' friends! Karen N here from Craftily Yours. So excited to be sharing my mixed media project made with this fabulous stamp-set and this GORGEOUS paper. Seriously, it's lovely; go get it! :)

I used the umbrella die that comes with the stamp-set to cut an umbrella and then created a fun rainy day background with my new Tim Holtz Spritzer (that I purchased at a GREAT deal from Cuttin' and Stampin'. It not only works with the watercolor markers but also with Copics. I spritzed blue and grey Copics through the Stripes Tim Holtz layered stencil and then added a lighter blue and some pink to fill in.

Since rainy days make me happy, I knew it needed some glimmer, so I misted the whole background with Glimmer Mist in Frost. The clouds and the umbrella are outlined with a little Tim Holtz Black Soot distress ink too.
