Weekly Challenge #51

Challenge: Anything Goes Using Leftovers

December 24th - 30th, 2013

Hi, this is Cheryl. I am hoping everyone had a blessed Christmas. I could not have asked for a better Holiday. We had a wonderful day with our girls and lot's of yummy food to eat. Santa was good to us all too.

For today's project we were instructed to use any of our leftovers from previous projects. I chose to use my well loved Paper Smooches Winter Groves stamp set and some random papers from my leftover stash. This was a great way to get more miles out of our papers and embellishments. I tried to think ahead and use what I had for a Valentine Card. I hope you enjoy my card!

Challenge:Anything Goes with a Pocket

December 10th - 16th, 2013

Hi, this is Cheryl. Today I am posting my creation with Cuttin' and Stampin". All of the Designer Team was given the Simple Stories Snap December Documented paper collection for this week's challenge and instructed to use some type of pocket for our project. For Christmas my husband and me give gift cards to our kids and I am always looking for some type of holder for their stocking. This paper collection has many small journaling cards that can be used in place of a gift card. I have taken pictures of both options. As always, if you wish to see how I make this card, please go to my blog and all of the details are found there.

I used the clear Wink of Stella pen on the tree and gifts

My finished gift card holder. Enjoy!

Weekly Challenge #48

Hi, this is Cheryl. I hope everyone is staying warm and dry. Here in Fort Worth we are under a Winter Storm Warning. We are expected to receive 1-2" of snow and ice overnight and have below freezing temperatures through Monday. Not the kind of weekend I am looking forward to. It took my husband almost two hours to get home and I was very happy to see him pull in the driveway. I am already ready for spring!

This week at Cuttin" and Scrappin', we are having a fun color challenge. We were all given the Bazzill Basics Nordic Pines paper collection and are using the colors kraft, red, black, and white.

There are so many nice papers in this collection that I really had a hard time deciding which ones to use. My creation is a top fold A2 size card with a 1/8" black mat under the designer paper. I used another piece of the paper for the snow slope and paper pieced both the snowman and girl. I really enjoyed making this sweet card!

Thank you for stopping by Cuttin" and Stampin' today. If you would like to visit their online store, please click here. We would also love for you to visit and "like" their Facebook page here.

"Home For The Holiday" Weekly Chalenge #47

#47
Challenge:  Home for the Holidays

November 26th - December 2nd, 2013

Hi Guys...this is Cheryl. Well, today is the Friday after Thanksgiving, which means we are either out shopping or at home enjoying our delicious leftovers. I have no urge to fight for a parking spot or the long lines in the stores. So I am going to stay at home, shop online at Cuttin' and Stampin' ScrappySupplies, and eat my leftovers with a smile on my face.

This week at Cuttin' and Stampin' our weekly challenge is "Home For The Holidays." I was given the Doodlebug "Home For The Holidays" 6" x 6" paper collection and the adorable Paper Smooches "Winter Groves" stamp set. I only had to make one project, but once I saw the stamp set and the Christmas papers, ideas were just flowing and I ended up making three cards. I am disappointed with my pictures. I have a new camera that has a monster manual and who wants to read that? lol  But here are my challenge projects for this week. I hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to join this weeks challenge!

Don't forget you can purchase these Paper Smooches stamps and 6x6 Doodlebug paper collection on the
Cuttin' and Stampin' Scrappy Supplies  page.

Cuttin' and Stampin' Weekly Challenge #46

#46
Challenge:  Anything Goes with Numbers

November 19th - 25th, 2013

Hi Scrappers. This is Cheryl. This week for our Cuttin' and Stampin' weekly challenge we were given the Bazzill "Count Down To Christmas" paper collection and the Paper Smooches "Digits" stamp set. I just loved working with these papers. Using the colors red, black, and white together makes me very happy! For my card I used a coordinating green piece of the paper collection, glued it to a clear button, tied some twine into a bow, and then adhered it to my card front. On the Christmas ornament I used VersaMark on the 25 and then a layer of clear embossing powder. From there I fussy cut the alphabets and glued them to the card.

This card was fun to make. We would love for you to join the challenge too!

Thank you for visiting us at Cuttin' and Stampin'. If you would like to visit their online store, you may go here.  If you would like to pick up this paper collection or stamp set, you may go to the new Facebook page here

I would also like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving with good food, family fellowship, and safe travels.

Happy Scrappin!.............Cheryl

Welcome Autumn!

#43
Challenge:  Autumn Harvest

October 29 - November 4, 2013

Hi..this is Cheryl. For today's challenge we were given the Paper Smooches stamp set "Autumn Groves".  It was a pleasure to use this stamp set. I love fall with all of the leaves, pumpkins, and scarecrows. This set has them all and more. To start off with my card.....you guessed it. I used a top fold A2 card. This card took me much longer to create and assemble because I spent a lot of time stamping on random patterned papers and fussy cutting. I do love to fussy cut! My biggest challenge in the end were the darn birds in the sky. I probably should have left them off or added them at the beginning of my card. Not exactly what I was going for, but it was too late to change anything. Here are a few up closeup views of my card. This was a lot of fun to make. Enjoy!

and here are those darn birds! What was I thinking? lol

And here is my card. Happy Fall Y'all!

Cuttin" & Stampin' Color Challenge Week #42

#42
Challenge:  Color Challenge
Orange, Purple, Green & Black
October 22 - 28, 2013

Hi guys.....this is Cheryl. For this weeks challenge with Cuttin' and Stampin' we were given the adorable Falling For You stamp set and coordinating dies from Paper Smooches with instructions to use a black, orange, green, and purple cardstock for our project.

Well, anyone that knows me already knows these are some of my favorite colors. I love fall colors with the beautiful browns, greens, oranges, reds, and yellows. Orange being my most favorite color of them all. The more I make cards I am slowly realizing for me I love working with solid colors and smaller prints and let the stamps do the talking.

For my project I started out with a piece of black card stock cut down to 4.25" x 11". It was then scored at 1/2", 1.25", 2", and 6.50".  I folded on all of the scored lines with the exception of the 1.25" line. This will only be used if you mail your picture frame. This score line will allow you to fold the frame flat in order to fit in an envelope for mailing.

For the inside I cut a layer measuring 4" x 4.25" and adhered this down. For the front of the frame I used my oval Spellbinder dies and cut three desending sized ovals frames and matted them together.

I then used a tree limb from my Paper Smooches Autumn Grove stamp set (that you will see on a later project) and stamped this on a gray tone paper and fussy cut it. I also stamped my bat on a pattern paper and used the coordinating die to cut it out. Googly eyes were adhered to the bat....he is sooo cute!

From there just a splash of color using a few punched hearts. I also matted the verse from the Falling for You stamp set on the bottom of the frame with the same paper that I used to make one of the hearts with. I then added some Glossy Accents on the three hearts.

Lastly I added a heavy adhesive along the outside of the initial 1/2" score line and attached it to the inside of the opposite end of the triangle shaped frame.

I am going to use this for a picture of my Grands from Halloween, but it could be used as a card if you choose too also.

That is it! I totally love this frame and plan on making these into a Christmas themed picture frames for my Grands to attach a picture of themselve and give to our family.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed my project as much as I do. As always I would love for you to subscribe to the Cuttin' and Stampin" Blog here, to "like" their Facebook page please click here, and if you would like to shop and purchase one of these adorable Paper Smooches stamp or die sets too, please go to the Cuttin' and Stampin" online store here.

HAPPY SCRAPPIN! .........Cheryl
