CHNC challenge extra for May

It doesn't seem possible that four months of the year have gone already and it's time to start the CHNC challenge extra for May. The image is Little penguin winter - decorate tree by Bugaboo Stamps, who are the sponsors of the challenge. I coloured with Spectrum Noir pens and die cut using an X cut parenthesis rectangular die, using a larger one for the green mat. I distressed slightly with stormy sky ink. These and the sentiment were mounted on to clear acetate with white snow spots, which was then matted on to red card. It's impossible here to see that there is a layer of acetate - had to avoid reflection with the photo.

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper May challenge

This is my card for Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper May challenge - if you haven't discovered this challenge blog yet, please hop on over there and get using some of your hoarded patterned paper. For those who already know about the blog, please note that there is a change of rule: From now on you may enter any creation on which patterned paper has been used - you are no longer required to completely cover the creation with patterned paper, as long as you use some on your creation, obviously the more, the better.

For my card I used some of the Crafts House Alllsorts paper (not from the prize pack, from another one!), using one of my favourite wedding stamps by Anita, inking with versamark and heat embossing with Wow! metallic rich super fine gold powder. I added a bit of colouring here and there with spectrum noir pens. The organza ribbon with gems was from Hobbycraft - I was able to use up a couple of snippets of it behind the bride and groom - it isn't one continuous piece of ribbon. Sentiment panel and Wedding Day wishes have been in my stash for ages.

April Rudolph Day

I've made this card for April Rudolph Day run by the lovely Maureen. The background is a patterned card by Imagination Crafts on to which I added some stamped snowflakes and the lovely Anna Griffin sentiment with holly, inking everything with Elzybells sugar candy pigment inkpad and then heat embossing with detail white powder. It's  difficult to see the shine of the heat embossing here, but it's much more prominent irl. This is mounted on to a sparkly stardream deep blue card blank.

For my card I used Stitchy Bear's Digi Outlet Coosty Creations 'kingfisher' kindly supplied by the sponsor of the challenge, matting the image on to an offcut of kraft card that was originally part of some craft packaging and then mounting on to an offcut of yellow card, rounding the corners before mounting on to the kraft card blank, wrapping with twine and adding the Craftwork cards sentiment circle.

The cheerful stamp pad challenge 110: owls

This is my design card for the Cheerful stamp pad challenge 110: owls. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I recycled this lovely Sweet Pea Stamps image (Silentness (owl version) digi by Ching Chou Cuik) which had been coloured with spectrum noir pens and mounted on to a piece of blue angel hair and then on to a piece of white mulberry paper, with the addition of a few gems here and there to give a bit of bling. This was then mounted on to a piece of paper from a magazine freebie, with the lovely lace with ribbon slotted through.

CHNC challenge 226: 20 minutes or less

For my CHNC challlenge 226 that starts today I'm asking to see Christmas creations that were made within 20 minutes or less.

My card was made in about 17 minutes - that included choosing the Hunkydory pictures I wanted to use, cutting to size etc - part of the time was taken up trying to find my favourite scissors to fussy cut around the arched picture so that everything fitted together. This is an A5 card opening tent style.

I based my card on the sketch given for the current Jingle Belles challenge (always like to support as many other Christmas challenge blogs as I can):

Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 77

This is my design card for Suzy Bee's Bloomin' challenge 77: anything goes with a twist ... use some lace. Please click on the link to see the lovely crafting of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

I used the Lacy Sunshine winter Emily image kindly supplied by the sponsor of the challenge. I coloured with Spectrum noir pencils (my first time of using these) and added Art Institute fine glitter to quickie glue pen on the 'fur'.

Papers are The English Paper Company 'airy fairy' (I've had for ages). The pink lace was bought from a local market stall a few months ago.

Completely Christmas challenge 60

This is my design card for Completely Christmas challenge 60: anything goes with a twist ... use some washi tape.

For my card I used a lovely Dazzling Ace Designs image, kindly supplied by the sponsor. The foiled panel across the middle (much more shiny irl) has been upcycled from the remains of a Christmas cracker and the reindeer washi tape  added top abd bottom. The felt holly and the poinsettia were from Hobbycraft.

Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 82

This is my design card for Fan-tastic Tuesday challenge 82: anything goes with a twist ... stitching, real or faux. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge.

For my card I used a butterfly image from The Stamping Boutique, the sponsor of the challenge. I printed on to a piece of Papermania 'lemon sorbet' capsule paper, coloured with spectrum noirs, which was then cut and faux stitched  (drawn with pen in holder instead of needle) on my Scan n Cut, also creating a card blank and extra piece for the easel from a 'flittered' sheet of DCWV card with circles with more faux stitching. Twine wrapped around the base with a sentiment panel created the stopper for the easel.

The cheerful stamp pad challenge 109 2nd week

The cheerful stamp pad challenge 109 is 'zentangle' and this is the second week. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in with your entries here.

For my design card for week 2 I added more zentangle to Courtney McAnsh's zetangle elephant (click the link to see the original), kindly supplied by the Sweet Pea Stampers as sponsors of the challenge. The backing paper is some I've had for ages from PDA paper card & craft, on to which I added a cut out of faux black crocodile. The strip across the top is recycled from some craft packaging and the ribbon/bow is Papermania. I thought it was appropriate to add the Belated Birthday Wishes as elephants never forget ... but sometimes we humans do!

Inspirational post for Buckwell Crafty challenge 7

A reminder of Buckwell Crafts Challenge 7 for April:

We would like to see all or just one of the colours somewhere on your card/project. So its any tone of  yellow, pink, or green that we would like to see and you could be a lucky winner and receive 3 digi images of your choice from Lacy Sunshine who has kindly agreed to be our Sponsor for this month.

You can enter here

For my inspiration card I used Lacy Sunshine's Gemma's spring flower love, kindly provided by the sponsor of this month's challenge. I coloured with chameleon pens and die cut with a Nellie Snellen die and sponged the edges with worn lipstick distress ink. I cut two shapes with Die-namic fishtail flag dies, using papers printed from Buckwell Crafts digital papers. The glory of Christmas challenge 57

This is my design card for the Glory of Christmas challenge 57: use a digi or anything goes as long as it's Christmas. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs of the rest of the team and join in our challenge - there is a prize to be won too!

I used a digital image - Limited runs pre-coloured 'trees on a cupcake', cutting out and mounting on to dark green card to match the card blank. The background is an offcut left over after making the card for this week's CHNC challenge 225 (shown yesterday) - Bo Bunny tis the season carol paper. The strip of card down the side is a piece that was cut off the remains of a piece of Kanban long ago. The jute flowers were from Poundland.

I'm also going to share this on my CHNC challenge 225: something beginning with F ... because there are flowers.

CHNC challenge 225: something beginning with F

For my CHNC challenge 225 I'm looking for you to use or show something beginning with F -  e.g. flurries (of snow), flourishes, flowers, faith, funny, Father Christmas, figgy pudding ... or, if you are stuck, just FESTIVE!! - I'm sure you can come up with other ideas too. If you are stuck you can get some more ideas here.

I've made two cards using die cuts created on my Scan n Cut, using svg files from SVG Attic (one of the sponsors), changing this to the correct format for the SnC using 'canvas'.  The file I used is called winter flurries - so I have used at least two words beginning with F ... flurries and flourishes (perhaps even 'flake' as in 'snow flake'  ...  as well, of course, as FESTIVE!

I'm also adding these cards for my Patterned Paper April challenge - if you haven't discovered that yet, please take a look and join in the challenge.

For the first card the background is Bo Bunny tis the season carol:

For the second card I used My Mind's Eye lost and found Christmas paper, using a couple of glittered strips from the reverse side of the paper:

The die cut was mounted on a piece of Pink Petticoat vintage rose paper. The background paper and the pink and white flower panel offcut are from the Pink Petticoat wild blossoms collection. Washi tape from Paperchase (a bargain buy) and flowers from Hobbycraft.

Crafting musketeers challenge 24

I am in team B on the Crafting musketeers DT and it's our turn mid-month to share some inspiration for April's challenge 24: it's a man's world. Please click on the link to see the lovely designs by others in team B and join in our challenge here.

Having bought my Scan n Cut a while ago and had initial success with a few simple tasks, I decided this week to make an effort to use it more, so my design card has been created with everything cut on the SnC, mounted on to a black card blank. The textured paper with random text on it is (I think) DCWV and all pieces of black and grey card are scraps - the beauty of the SnC is being able to scan in pieces of card and position items for cutting so it's possible to use up scraps.

The top and bottom pieces are offcut pearlescent pieces run through an embossing folder. Flowers are from Flourish with a bling (I won some from them), which have those lovely pearl buttons in the centres of the delicate chiffon petals.
