Hot chocolate anyone?

Hi everybody! How are you doing? I've been keeping myself busy with day-to-day activities and I've been experimenting in the kitchen. I love cooking and baking and I always keep my eyes out on the new things I can/have to try. So if you have a favourite recipe that you care to share, please do so. :) I was thinking about posting some of the stuff I make in the kitchen here, but then I've decided to keep this blog for my papercrafts (and maybe occassional piece of handmade jewelry) only. However, I'm sharing most of the dishes I make on my instagram so feel free to have a look, if you want. :)

Besides cooking and baking I've also made a couple of cards, which I would like to share with you. You can see the first one below and the others will follow in the upcoming weeks.

So, the first card I want to share with your is a Christmas one. I decided to use one of the super cute images from Severine Aubry on my card - this little fella always brings a smile to my face. :D I definitely wouldn't mind if he came here so we could share a cup of hot chocolate. ;)

I coloured the image with polychromos. I'm on a mission to "shop in my stash", so on this card I used quite a few things that I've had in my stash for what seems like forever - crystals, acetate frame with stars, rub-on sentiment and even the die cut frame is an oldie.

Have you started working on your Christmas projects? Or are you currently hooked on Halloween stuff?

So much for today. Wishing you all a wonderful day! xx

How the holidays start ...

Hello everybody! How are you doing?

Today I want to share with you another Christmas card I made.

I don't have a printer so I very, very rarely use digi stamps, even though I have plenty in my collection. Do you use digi stamps? I know there are several advantages to digi stamps compared to rubber/clear ones (e. g. resizing images to your desired size, price etc.), but even so I prefer the "real" stamping - meaning using a rubber/clear stamp and ink. BUT there are some images that I really, really like that only come as digi stamps. So when I visited my parents one day I asked them if I could use their printer to print a couple of images. One of the images I printed was this cute image from Polkadoodles that I used on the card below.

I coloured the image with polychromos and added some liquid applique on parts of the image to make it more interesting. The papers are from DCWV. I decorated the card with some die cut stars and crystals. The sentiment is a rub-on from Stampin' up. I added some foam pads between the layers for some extra dimension.

I hope you like this card. Have you started on your Christmas cards yet or will you make them later in the year?

Have a wonderful day! xx

Apron full of hearts

Hello everybody! How are you? Do you have any snow where you live? We got a lot over the weekend so I am more than happy to share some. Where was all this snow at Christmas when we actually wanted it?!

Valentine's day is just around the corner so I am curious how you celebrate it. Me and my other half usually don't to be honest. We like to give each other small surprises all year long at random days, so we have many "fake Valentine's days" through the year instead of just one in February.

Earlier this year I was asked if I wanted to be a guest designer for The Paper Nest Dolls. I was really honoured and of course I said yes. :D I got to play with this adorable digi stamp that is perfect for Valentine's day cards, as well as for other occasions.

I coloured the image with Faber Castell pencils - nothing fancy, just regular school pencils.

For my card I used some beautiful papers from MME. These papers are really great, because they come with some sentiments and words that you can cut out and use them on your projects - like I did on my card. I embellished the card with some lace and pearls from my stash.

That's all from me for today. See you again tomorrow. :)

Just another Christmas card

Hey, hey! Today was a BIG day. It was my little girl's first day of daycare. I have to admit I was *terrified* of this day. I mean REALLY terrified! I didn't know how Amadeja will react to all the other children, the teachers etc. Everything was new to her! Well, at first there was some crying, and for the first 10 minutes or so she was scared to go more than 1 meter away from me, but soon she started exploring the new toys and started playing with her new classmates. Today we only stayed there for about 90 minutes and probably will be more or less the same on Monday, but on Tuesday I will probably leave her alone for a short period of time and then the same on Wednesday... I know it'll be hard for both of us, but from what I saw today I am confident that she'll enjoy her time in dayscare.

Now that I got that off my chest let me show you the most recent card I made. It's another Christmas card - I still have plenty of those to make!

Once again I used one of the adorable Whimsy stamps digi images. I did the colouring with pencils and Promarkers and I added some liquid applique on the white parts of the penguin's dress.

Papers that I used are from DoCrafts and Scrapworks. I only used some lace and gold crystals to embellish the card.

Die cuts used are from Joy crafts (rectangle frame), La La Land (banner), Nellie's (stars), Marianne design (doily) and Cottage Cutz (border lace). Image and frame were raised on foam pads to give the card some dimension.

So much from me today. See you again soon. :) Bye, bye! xx

Happy snowman

Hey, hey! How was your summer? Did you have a nice time? Did you travel anywhere? Are you ready for fall? Here the temperatures dropped, so I can feel autumn is already knocking on the door. And before we know it December will be here too, so I thought I better start working on my Christmas cards. Here's the latest one I made.

I decided to use the cute snowman digi stamp from Whimsy stamps. Colouring was done with pencils and at the end I covered the snowman with Wink of Stella, so in person he's really sparkly, but unfortunately you can't see this in the photos. Papers and embellishments are from my stash. I added layers on top of each other with foam pads, which gave the card some dimension.

I made this card for the Whimsy stamps DT call and even made step by step photo tutorial for it, because that was one of the requests for applying. So in case you are wondering how I put this card together, check the photo below.

Some people asked what dies I used on this card, so here's the list:
Cherry Lynn: Polynesian Sails
Spellbinders: Standard large circles, Picot edge circles, Floral ovals
Joy crafts: Ice crystal border
Sizzix: Snowman
Nellie's: Stars
Unbranded: small decorative border

I hope this helps. :) If you have any other question just ask!

So much from me today. See you again soon! xx

Just because

Hello my crafty friends! How are you doing? I'm enjoying warm(er) spring days. I try to go out with my little girl as much as possible, so this means I have even less crafty time than usual. But I do get some in the evenings, which is perfectly fine with me. :)

You probably know I don't use digi stamps oftern. In fact, almost never. I have quite a collection of them though (some I won, some I bought), but they are still waiting for their turn to appear on my card(s). While I do like the fact that you can resize digi images and create the whole scenes with them, there are even more reasons I personally don't like using them too much.
1.) I almost always print the wrong size - can't seem to get this right. *sigh*
2.) I like colouring with distress inks and watercolor pencils, and despite all the tricks and tips for colouring digi images with watercolour mediums, my ink still runs when I do the colouring. Annoying!
3.) I find it MUCH faster to stamp my image than opening word, trying to figure the right size for the image, turning on printer etc.
4.) Ink cartrige is empty - need I say more?!

That being said, I still play with digi stamps every now and then. And just recently I made this card using the panda digi from Maria Medel Rodriguez. I made this for a lovely lady, for who I know loves this stamp. :)

I decided to use soft colours for this card; I thought that would make a nice contrast against the black and white image. I used scraps of design papers from my stash and some lace, pom pom trim and tiny pearls to embellish the card. I coloured the image with Promarkers and pencils.

So, that's it for today. See you again soon! Bye bye. :) xx

Playing in the snow

Hey hey! Happy New Year! :D How are you doing? Did you have a nice time celebrating New Year? We were staying at home, enjoying a quiet time together. I have to admit I didn't make it til midnight - I went to bed at 11 pm. I was just soooo tired! *sigh* Oh well, there's always another year. ;)

I still haven't showed you all the Christmas cards I sent out last year, so expect to see them in the following days; first one coming right up.

I'm sorry for the bad quality of the photo. The card was made in the late afternoon and had to go in the mail in the morning the next day, so it was dark when I took photo of it.

Again I used this adorable image by Tiddly Inks. Papers and embellishments came from my stash. I was going through my things the other day and I noticed I have so many half used (or even brand new!) stuff that I really should use those first before I buy any more. Dots on the snowflakes were made with liquid pearls.

I coloured the imafe with pencils and Promarkers. On the white parts of the dress and hat I used diamond Stickles.

So much from me today.
Have a wonderful day! xx

Do you wanna build a snowman?

Hey hey! Yesterday I received the first Christmas card this year. I guess this means holidays are just around the corner, right? I have already written some of my Christmas cards, but haven't mailed any. I am planning to go to the post office later this week to mail those overseas so that they will get to my friends in time. Those within Europe will probably be sent out in the first week of December.

This is one of the Christmas cards I made this year. I've decided to use some of the images I printed/stamped a while back with full intention to colour them and use them on my cards/projects, but for some reason never have.

I love Tiddly inks images and this one is one of my favourites (at least when it comes to Christmas/winter ones). Isn't it cute? I coloured it Promarkers and pencils and I used some liquid applique on the white parts of girl's clothes.

Before I go I want to remind you that my mom has some yummy candy on her blog and you only have a couple of days left if you want to join. :)

Have a wonderful day! xx

All about the boys

Hello everybody! A new challenge just started at The Greeting Farm. This month the theme is "All about the boys". I always find it heard to make a card for a boy, because I can't use flowers, lace, butterflies etc. on it. Here's what I made ...

I used the cute Birthday boy digi stamp as my main image and around it I stamped some stars that came with the Mega-mini Amazing stamp set. I coloured the image with Promarkers and pencils. To embellish the card a little bit I used some twine that I had in my stash.

I hope you'll come play with us this month!
Hugs! xx

Cheeky love

Good morning my crafty friends! How are you doing? My little girl and I got a cold (luckily just stuffy nose, nothing else) a couple of days ago, but luckily we are both feeling much better now. I blame it on the weather - one moment it's warm and sunny and almost feels like summers and the next moment is windy and cold(er) again. It's kind of tricky to get dressed properly. *sigh*

On top of that my glasses broke the other day. I was cleaning them and all of the sudden I was left with 2 pieces in my hand. Shock! I could go on without my glasses for a while, but I wanted to get things sorted out asap. So my hubby took care of the baby and I ran to the optician to get new glasses. It's never boring here. lol

As for crafting goes, the other day I made a card using one of the (fairly) recent digi images from The Greeting Farm. She's called Cheeky love and I think she's a real cutie.

I thought she looks like a real diva, so I decided to went for a more elegant and sort of mysterious look on my card. I used scraps of paper that I had in my stash and I just used some doilies, ribbon ad crystals to decorate my card.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Faber Castell and Giotto pencils. See the stars that are stamped around the image? They are from one of the upcoming stamp sets at The Greeting Farm. That set is being released on Sunday, so you might want to check the TGF page then. Just saying ... ;)

So much for today. See you again real soon! :)

Hugs! xx

Geometrical

Hello my crafty friends! How's it going? I'm enjoying my time with my little girl and while she sleeps I try to do a little bit of crafting. I never thought I'd enjoy being a mom so much. But this little bundle of joy gives me energy and brightens my days. :)

Anyways, I won't bore you with baby talk, because I know it's not why you are here. ;) A new challenge started at Crafty ribbons today and the theme is "Geometrical". Say "what"?! That was my reaction. I have to admit this was a huge challenge for me. I had absolutely no idea what to make. At first I thought I would just use a lot of circles on my card, but I couldn't make it work. My mind was blank. But then I thought about just using some different geometrical shapes on my card and all of the sudden things weren't looking so bad anymore. At the end I made the following card.

While it doesn't really scream "geometrical" at first look, I did use squares, rectangles, ovals and even triangles on this card.

I coloured this sweet little image a while back, but didn't get to use it til now. It's coloured with Promarkers and Faber Castell pencils and I also used some Stickles on the wings. Unfortunately it's impossible to see in the picture, but I also used gloss gel on the pink flower.

To decorate this card I used different flowers from my stash, pearls, keys ribbon from Crafty ribbons and a little birdie, which I made with mod podge silicone mold. On some die cuts and those triangles I used white gel pen for the stitches.

So much from me today. I hope you won't get scared by this theme and you will come play with us! Have a wonderful day!

Hugs! xx

Birthday boy

Hey, hey! How are you doing? I hope everything is fine with you. Can you believe January it's nearly over? Goodness, this month just flew by. I'm getting more and more excited about my baby coming to this world soon. Can't wait to hold my little princess in my arms. Just a little bit longer ...

Anyways, I'm here today to share with you a card that I made for my hubby's nephew who celebrated his 2nd birthday in December. I'm always struggling with man/boy cards, but when I saw the Birthday boy stamp from The Greeting Farm I knew immediately what I want to make and I realised that making boy cards isn't THAT scary after all. ;)

For this card I used papers from Authentique and from my stash. As it was a boy's card I didn't want to add flowers or butterflies or other girly embellishments, so I used some die cut stars, buttons, ribbon and paperclips to embellish the card. I also used some chat clouds from Pinkpaislee. In the middle of one of them I stamped a sentiment which is in slovenian and means "sincere congratulations".

The circle behind the image was embossed with Cuttlebug's Swiss dots embossing folder. I coloured the image with Promarkers and Giotto and Faber Castell pencils.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. Have a wonderful day! Hugs! xx
