Just Magnolia Challenge - A Tent Card!

Yay - it's Friday! I hope you're all looking forward to a great weekend - we have fantastic temperatures coming our way (+11) so can't wait to get out & about!

The special monthly challenge over at Just Magnolia is a fab tutorial by Dena showing how to make a tent card! Oh, this was fun and so super easy! I chose to use this Tilda as she's perfect for dangling in this type of card. I coloured with my copics and cut her out. Papers are from the BG Porcelain pad - I'd forgotten how pretty these papers are! My embellishments are these funky spring branches that I found in the Dollar Store! I find a lot there don't I??!!!! LOL The little coloured balls are polestyrene and are kinda cool. I added a couple of white cherry blossoms and some pearl spray. I love the Spring branch effect it gives.

Edited to add this new picture! I found this cute sentiment stamp at Michaels today and thought it would be the perfect fit on this card!

Here's a side view of the card to how the dimension and how easily it goes together. I will also submit this card into the Simon says Stamp challenge this week which is a Mother's Day/Girly card as I've made this card to send back to Jersey for my mum.

Well, thanks for stopping by today - I hope you were able to be inspired! I will definitely be making this style of card again - go try it out - the tutorial is right here! Thanks for your wonderful comments - every single one of them is truly appreciated! Have a fabulous day everyone!

Hugs,

A sweet Tilda card!

Happy Friday everyone!
Wow - another week over and hopefully a great weekend to look forward to! I'm going to have to make this a quick post and I'm on my way out to help set up and decorate the school gym for the school dance tonight!
I received a wonderful package from my mum yesterday full of Wild Orchid Craft flowers - woohoo - they are gorgeous!!
So I decided to ink up this cute Tilda as she hasn't been played with yet! I coloured her with my copics and tried a different technique this time for colouring her hair - I love the result! I'm entering this card for the February challenge over at The Little Stamp Shoppe where we are to make a 'Swedish' style Magnolia card - do you think this fits the bill? The winner of this months challenge gets a Guest DT spot - what a prize!
Papers are Magnolia which I machine-stitched around the edges. I added some cream and dusty pink lace with a pearl slider from Wild Orchid Crafts. I distressed the edges around the octagonal nestie with distress inks. The cherry blossoms are from WOC and the rest from stash. Two pearls in each corner finish off the look.
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit - I love having you here and I really do appreciate all your comments! Gotta run - have yourselves a great Friday evening and start to the weekend!
Hugs,

Just Magnolia - Happy {Heart} Day

Hello my friends!
A Happy Sunday to you all - I hope you're enjoying the weekend and managing to get those fingers really inky, lol!!!
I made this card yesterday with the Just Magnolia challenge in mind - Paper Pleating. I won the January Paper Card Kit from Paper Works Co at the release of their last stamp set. And they are gorgeous!! They're from the new My Minds Eye 'Be Loved' range. I am not a huge peachy colour fan but these papers are just wow! I love them. The kit includes cardstock, dp, MME 'Be Loved' accessories, ribbons and embellishments - enough to make at least 10 cards!! What a prize!
So, knowing what papers I wanted to use I went ahead and started colouring Tilda on my Neenah cardstock (love this stuff) with my copics. I chose this new image from the 'Raising the Ceiling' collection. I decided to paper pleat a 'ladder' so it gives the effect that Tilda has climbed up and is sitting on the rungs. I used the MS Heart Lace punch either side of the paper pleating. I have managed to use all my paper cut offs on this card. I used some white tulle to make a bow. The sentiment I just picked up in Michaels in the $1.50 bin. I added 3 pearls in the other 2 corners. And because I used a wack of new stash on this card I'm also going to enter it into the Cute Card Thursday challenge - All New.
I'm really pleased with how this turned out- Mina gave a fantastic tutorial on paper pleating so made that element to the card quite easy! Thanks for visiting today - I hope you enjoy the card I made and maybe you'll get time to enter into the Just Magnolia challenge this week too!
Enjoy your day whatever you're doing!
Hugs,
Danielle x
