A 'Magic' Card!

Hi there!
I tried a new card this weekend - a 'Magic' card.  It is super fun to do and I think the end result is quite stunning - definitely worth a try!  And if you want to try it and you're in the Ottawa area, then sign up at Heather's as this is my next card class which is coming up June 19th!
Stamp images are Heather's own line of stamps, Enchanted Hollow.  The coloured image is done with copics.  And yes, I'll be teaching copics at Heather's as she will now be carrying them - yay!!

Thanks for your visit today my friends and for any comments you may leave.  I've had another busy day today so hope I can catch up on some blog hopping and commenting tomorrow!  Don't forget, this is the last week of my blog candy - and now that we're over 100 I will definitely be adding a couple of extra surprises to the bundle!
Take care & hugs to you all,
Danielle x

My upcoming class at Heather's .....Cuttlebug Resist Technique

Hi there!
These are the two cards from my upcoming class at Heather's this coming Saturday March 27th from 10-12.   They both use a fun technique called Cuttlebug Resist which is so easy and effective for making interesting backgrounds.
The card above is created using the recessed window technique and uses this gorgeous sentiment stamp from The Stamp Barn.  The flourishes are BossKut.  The cuttlebug design is the Argyle folder.
This second card uses the Moroccan screen folder with both the emboss and resist techniques.  I've used the Fleur-de-Lys pendant die cut from Spellbinders.  The card is sprayed with Tattered Angels Pearl glimmer mist to add the gorgeous sheen.  Blue gems add a nice touch of bling to the final look.

Thanks for coming by today for another visit - I so appreciate you taking the time to come by and leave your comments.  As it's raining outside I plan on sitting here a while longer with a cup of tea and catch up on some commenting!
Hugs,

Edwin's Adventures .... A Shadow-Box card

Hello my friends!
This is the last of my cards for my class at Heather's next Saturday. I decided to use Edwin - he so often gets neglected and passed over for the beautiful Tilda, but I feel bad 'cos he really is such a cutie too!
I decided to send Edwin on a safari adventure and the shadow-box style card is perfect for incorporating many images onto one card. I sure wish I was going with him.......brings back lovely memories of the safari I did take! The images are coloured with my copics. We will be colouring the images though with Tombow markers in the class. I put the little stool in the other corner and even though I don't have the cat it would sit beautifully on there to add some extra detail should you wish. I would have liked Magnolia to have included some 'adventure' type sentiments or postage stamps like they have in their christmas collections. Maybe they'll think about adding some as they would be perfect to go with these images!
I didn't go with any embellishments on this card - I wanted the images to just lead the way! The aperture is cut out with the largest square nestie. I added glossy accents to the jeep's windows to give the look of glass (hard to see in the picture).
There you have it. Looking out of my window I know where I'd rather be - I'll go on a Tilda & Edwin Tour any day, lol!!!
Hope you all enjoy a wonderful Saturday. Thanks for popping by for a visit today - I love that you take the time to leave me a comment - I really love reading them!

Amour .... in Paris!

Hello folks!
I hope this Wednesday finds you well - I know for the friends back home in the UK they're enjoying what seems to be quite a bit of snow. Honestly, it's hard to feel excited for their enthusiasm - I'm sick of the white stuff here - it just keeps coming and coming!!!
Well, today I have the second card from my trio of cards for my upcoming class at Heather's. I created the 'z' fold card and went with a very classy valentine card - perfect I think for the men! And talking of men, my lucky hubby gets to go to Paris next week on business! How I wish I had family close by so I could leave the boys and join Sean on a 4 day trip!! I have been to Paris before but not with my husband - how nice would that have been!
I decided to use black - I don't often use it but I wanted to heat emboss this gorgeous Penny Black image. I used Platinum embossing powder on this. The back panel is embossed with the hearts cuttlebug folder. On the image I cut out the two little hearts and placed a piece of red cardstock behind to make them pop out - I think it worked!! The bow is a double bow using my Bow-Easy - love that tool!! For the class I will be doing one thing different - instead of a half-circle at the top I will use a nesties heart with an eyelet to hold the front panel of the card up. As I don't have this set I couldn't make it at home but I will use Heather's from the store to complete the card. Maybe I'll have to add that to my ever-growing wish list, hee hee!!
Thanks for stopping by again today - I love your visits. And I thank you for any comments that you may leave - your input and support means the world to me!
Hugs,
Danielle x
