Sydney's Shadow Box

Hello and good Wednesday morning to you! I am here to share my Pumpkin Spice post of the day!

This was made for my six year old niece (well technically my 2nd cousin, but we're more like sisters). I decided I wanted to make her something for her room so I used her monogram to make this shadow box wall hanging! It's my first one and I hope you like it! :)

The light was so wrong to take these photos, but I did my best!

I used my Xyron to glitter the vellum butterfly wings.

Recipe:

I also made this for the My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge. I'm not sure they will let it in since it isn't a "card", but I made it from this sketch so it should still be credited! :)

Wishing you lots of love this Christmas.

I know I know, it's early for Christmas cards (let alone two! See earlier posts! :)), but when I got my little hands on Biggie Christmas - a stamp set from the most recent My Pink Stamper release... I couldn't help but feel in the holiday spirit!

Wishing you lots of love this Christmas

I spy with my little eye.... and a WINNER!

The Cricut Circle is having a monthly contest and the theme is "Road Trip" to make something that can be used on a road trip.

Well by now I am sure that you are becoming acquainted with my good friend June. She has 9 year old twin girls with Autism and I wanted to make something for them. They have been road tripping all over the East Coast for their summer vacation so I wanted to make something that was re-usable and something that held their attention for a little bit. So I thought I'd make an I Spy book!

The recipe for this would be epic so I will put some of the highlights below.

I am certainly not done with it. It needs some fun embellishing, but for now I couldn't wait to show you all! :)

Recipe:

I hope you enjoyed it and it inspires you to make one for someone small in your life!

I also have a WINNER from my My Pink Designer post!!!!

Gayle, I have emailed you your certificate number. If you have any questions or didn't get my email, you can email me at CourtsCraftsBlog@gmail.com! Congratulations!

I am a guest designer in July for a new challenge blog called Polkadot Door Designs and there will be a blog hop coming up on the 1st....

Also on the 1st I am going to announce that I am a guest designer for another manufacturer... can anyone guess who it might be? :) I am VERY excited about it!

You're My Favorite - Circle Challenge!

Hey all!

Welcome to new followers and friends! :)

Today I made this card up super quickly to get into the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge which was "Sweet Summertime" and they wanted us to use a stamp too.

I don't have a whole lot of stamps - seriously nearly all of them are My Pink Stamper so I just used a stamp for my sentiment. I felt bad about realizing that they probably meant a background stamp so I pulled apart the card (as I was writing this) and added a background stamp (which doesn't show up in the photo as well as it shows up in person) and re-shot it and here is the before and after! :) The background stamp is in the upper left and bottom right.

You can get EVERYTHING I used on this card apart from the solid cardstock, cartridges, and Cuttlebug folder from my AWESOME sponsor PUMPKIN SPICE! They have the best shipping rates and the best prices on product! They also have the best customer service! Check it out! I love enabling! :)

A little birdie told me... You're tweet.

I made this using Artful Delight's June Kit

This was based on this sketch by Jana Eubank

I made the birds my rectangles, my ribbon and branch the horizontal lines, and left the title and square layers where they were. It was a little much to fit all of the elements on the card so those are the ones I chose to keep. It's a FAB sketch though and if you're a scrap-booker, then here's another one to use! :)

Hi - Case alert!

Today at Betty Bee's Buzz we are showing you how you can use corrugated chipboard on your projects!

My friend June provided you with a host of inspiration on Monday and I knew when I saw her cards exactly what I want to do!

I think this is my first "legal" sized card - 9"x4"

I am a *proud* member of the Cricut Circle and we had a challenge to case a card in the private magazine that is provided for us! I have never cased a card to this extent and thought it was just charming so I chose this one.

If you want to learn more about the Cricut Circle I am happy to answer any questions you have!

I took a screen shot of this card to share with you so you could see how closely I cased it. In the magazine, we get cut sizes, recipes, and instructions so it was easy to follow closely.

This is the card I cased by Janet Wilkins

Happy Camper Release Party!

Welcome to the release party for Happy Camper by Imaginisce!!! I am really excited about this cute little line and there is SO much versatility to it!

You're a Hoot
I made this owl card using die cuts that came along with it, a "snag 'em up" and patterned paper.

Recipe:

Thank You
I made these thank you cards for my cousin Katie. I married into the best family ever. I truly believe it. Anyway, Katie is one of my (many) new cousins and she is an INCREDIBLE quilter. You can check out her blog HERE. It's called "From the Blue Chair" because she sits in her adorable blue chair to quilt from.

Anyway, she sent me the most adorable elephant that I couldn't love any more than I do. She (the elephant) will have her own photo-shoot and post one day so you will get to meet her. I wanted to send Kati a thank you card along with something I made so I made these three thank you's for her to use - from the blue chair :)

Friends FUR-ever
This last one was just for fun for me. I had a great time making it and still don't feel like I'm done tinkering with it, but alas, it must go up on the blog. :)

This is just the opening day of the Happy Camper Release Party! Check out what all of the other ladies have done for you today and make sure to leave a comment on the Imaginisce blog everyday because there are prizes to be won! :)

If Friends Were Flowers, I'd Pick You **Giveaway Alert***

Hello! Welcome to day 2 of my blog-aversary week giveaways!!!

Today at the Imaginisce Blog we are showing you even more inspiration on what to do with the new i-rock accessories! Today I am showing you what you can do with the teardrop shape! :)

Close up of the new bling!

Recipe:
Imaginisce: i-rock™
Cardstock: Paper Trey Ink and Cricut™
Ink: Colorbox in black

Remember, Imaginisce is giving away a WHOLE lot of i-rock bling on their blog and I am giving away a grab bag of Imaginisce goodies donated by Imaginisce (THANKS LORI!!!) HERE on my blog today as the prize! So leave me a comment to be entered! Come back again tomorrow for more inspiration and another giveaway chance! I'll post all of the winners when the week is up!

Just a side note, I would be tickled pink if you decide to put my blinkie on your blog. This is NOT required to win, just if you enjoy my work it would be so nice!

Now,  I am usually not one for making this blog so personal as I don't think you all should have to "deal with me". And I want you to come here and feel inspired and like it's a place of creativity and refuge. But, I usually try to get back to all of your comments and visit you and I'm afraid I can't do that this week. My grandfather is very ill and has been for a while and this looks like we're near the end. So I've only come home for a couple days to re-group and do some laundry and then I will be back down in Monterey supporting my family. So I won't have time to write back to you. But please know that I love every one of your comments and appreciate you taking the time to leave them. And if you're a new follower, welcome and I am so tickled pink that you like my work! I hope everyone is healthy and happy. My hugs to you all!

PKS Guest Designer - Woodland Themed Party - Invitation

I am celebrating my one year blogaversary this week so make sure to leave comments every day as there are many prizes to be won!!! Thank you so much to Peachy Keen for having me this week and I am really looking forward to sharing with you these projects!

I wanted to do something different here and right when I found out I was accepted I knew I was going to do a themed birthday party! I chose Woodland Critters for the theme so I hope you enjoy getting an idea of what your party could look like if you did it yourself!

Of course every party starts out with an INVITATION!

For this card, I wanted the bee to be buzzing by someone's house (hence the potted plants) to invite them to the woods! So I wanted to blend the two ideas. I hope you like it!

OUT FOR PUBLICATION!

I used Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces in Large for this bee:

Recipe:
Cardstock: Paper Trey Ink™, Cricut™
Ribbon from my stash
white gel pen
Glossy Accents

Design Memory Craft contacted me and offered to send me product and offered two giveaways if I would review their product! Today I used their Gelato that was included in the Mix and Match Sampler for the cheeks of my Bee (I will also be using it tomorrow). So far, I like it! I used the blender that comes in their essentials kit to blend out the cheeks. I really liked the result!

This is what the Mix and Match sampler looked like that they are going to give away to two of you!

This is what the Color Gelatos and Clear Stamp set looks like that they are also going to give away to two of you!

There is a LOT more to play with that they sent me, but this week, I will be using them on Peachy Keen Critters. Going forward, I can see a lot more uses for these and will share with you as I go along. If you would like to read more about their products and the company (which just launched at CHA in January) then go HERE.

Now, I am giving away a set of Critter Faces in MEDIUM  this week but I won't tell you what post it is going to be on! :) I am also giving away TWO sets of the Design Memory Craft: Mix and Match Sampler as well as the Color Gelatos and Clear Stamp! I think you're getting the drill by now! Just leave me a comment on my blog all week and I will draw a random winner of this FABulous set!!! These wont be the only prizes for the week! They are just the teasers! :) But you know at least 3 of the prizes now! :)

My Pinkalicious Blog Hop Friday! ***Giveaway Alert***

SOOOO super excited to be sharing with you on another My Pink Stamper Pinkalicious Blog Hop with  the My Pink Design Team!

You should have gotten here from Kassidy's blog. If not, start at My Pink Stamper's blog to join in all of the fun!

We have some wonderful inspiration for you today! We wanted to "think Spring" and it felt so good to craft with warm, happy colors!

For my project, I knew I wanted to use My Pink Stamper's: Buggy Punnies "Cutie Patootie". When I nannied 4 children, I called Hope (3 years old) cutie patootie. She used to giggle and giggle when I said it. So when I saw that Robyn and come out with a stamp that said it, I was thrilled and had to have it! This card is going to Hope (now 7) because she lost a little spoon that went with her pretend tea set and I told her I would send her one that I had and wasn't using (a salt spoon) along with a card that I made showing "her" stamp!

Of course, Echo Park Paper: Springtime was a perfect fit!

Recipe:
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Victoria
Ink: Momento in Cocoa™
Twine: Paper Trey Ink
Glossy Accents by Ranger™
Brown and White Cardstock: Paper Trey Ink
Adhesive: Glue Arts

I am SO delighted to announce that Echo Park Paper has generously offered to give away Playground to one of my lucky commenters! I don't even have this collection otherwise I would have used it for this post! It isn't even out yet so I really think this is a HUGE honor! Please leave me one comment only and I will send the address of the winner to Echo Park and they will send it to you directly. I will be choosing a winner on the 18th so you have a full week to get your comments in. :) THANK YOU SO MUCH to ECHO PARK!!! Please leave a comment on either their Facebook page HERE or their blog HERE to thank them for this opportunity!

If you get lost in the hop, here is a complete list:
Courtney—Court’s Crafts <--You are here! :)

You are now off to Kristal's blog. She is our guest designer this month and I want to thank her SO much for joining us on the team this month! Please make sure to leave her some extra love and wish her a warm welcome!

Happy Birthday!

Hello! I have been MIA for a little bit. My husband's birthday was last week and he found out he had to go on an impromptu trip to Poland and China! So the rest of my week was spent getting him ready for that and a good portion of it was at the Chinese Consulate. He left on Saturday for two weeks and I am so lonely! But luckily a friend needed help with her kiddos so I have spent the week with her gorgeous 1.5 year old and their 7 week old son. It has been so much fun!

THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN DOWN FOR PUBLICATION!!! :)

This card is for my best friend's husband named Phil for his 27th birthday. He's just a big kid so he will love this!

Designer's notes: I fussy cut the owl and 2 and 7 from the patterned paper that came in the kit. ***I have gotten a few questions about what fussy cut means (I love getting questions and helping out so ask me ANYTIME - You can always email me directly at the email address listed on the top right of my blog!) Here is the answer:

Fussy cutting is cutting out anything with a pair of scissors that is not in a normal shape that you punch out. For instance, it is used a lot when stamping an image, coloring it, and then cutting out the exact figure - instead of using your Nestabilities, shape punches, or Cricut Center Point feature and cutting it out that way. So I used a pair of embroidery scissors in this case to cut out just the owl out of the pattered paper. If I had used a oval punch to simply punch it out, it would not have been "fussy cut". I hope that makes sense and thank you for asking ladies!

I used Glossy Accents this time to make the line that twine was going to sit on to make the banner and that worked great! I got that tip from Jenny at Wee Memories

I also used the Glossy Accents on the party hat, balloon, nose, feet, and leaves. It definitely added a nice "pop" factor.

Lastly, I bent the "Happy Birthday" stamp to fit the contour of the branch which worked wonderfully!

Recipe
Artful Delight's March Kit (only 4 left!!!)
Glossy Accents™
Cartridges: Birthday Bash™ (banner) and Straight from the Nest™ (branch)
Cuttlebug Folders: Swiss Dots™ and D'vine Swirl
i-bond (cordless glue gun) from Imaginisce™ (to glue the rope to the card)
d-stress (sander) from Imaginisce™ (I sanded the blue edges of the banner)

This card also qualifies for the Cricut Circle's contest of a man card with three elements that they listed. I used distressing, twine and string along with two complete Cricut cuts (banner and branch).

I hope this brings you inspiration on doing boy/man cards which are hard for a lot of us!

Don't forget to play along with Artful Delight's sketch challenge this month where you could win next month's kit! It's rumored to have papers from 3 different collections! Don't quote me on that, but I am really excited about the possibility!

Also, Artful Delight is having a GIVEAWAY over at their Facebook Page (click on the link). Like them and let them know Courtney sent you over to say hello and good luck winning! Leeanne is always very generous!

Sorry! Photo is out for publication! :)

Embossing Folders: OMC: Brickyard™,  D'vine Swirl™, and Forest Branches™ (on the grass)
Cardstock: Paper Trey Ink™, Core'dinations
Ink: Colorbox in black™
Glossy Accents
White Gelly Roll Pen

Design notes: I just had to use Robyn's favorite cartridge: Create a Critter, but I absolutely love making shape cards so I thought I would make a shape card for the blog hop.

I used the Twinery twine around the flowers and used Glossy Accents on the grass and the flower petals.

It's my best friend Kourtni's birthday tomorrow (HAPPY BIRTHDAY - and yes, we share the same name) and this was her birthday card! So she just received this in the mail. I love you friend!

Since it is Kourtni's birthday, I think I should have a giveaway. As I just got her one of these for her birthday, I will give one away to you as well! All the cake cartridges work all of the Cricuts and I use this font the most and the images are fabulous too!
Leave a comment on this post and I will draw a winner on Monday. This is open to US residents with free shipping, but if international friends want to win it, I would ask that you pay the shipping above what I would have paid in the states. I hope that's okay with everyone! Check back to see if you won and I will give the winner a week to contact me! :)
