I am Back!

Life is back to being a little bit like normal.
Normal, what is normal any more?

I really had a great weekend, lots of friends and relatives.
Thursday night we picked up 2 second cousins from the airport.
I stayed with both Ivar & Erling when I visited Norway in 1993
The other 2 in the picture are my aunt and cousin.

We spent time sitting around talking and laughing.
We showed them our farm and let them drive our old tractors and our bigger tractors
Ivar driving

Erling driving the 4850.

Then on Saturday night they went and watched my husband at a tractor & pickup pull which they had never seen done before. And on Sunday we had a family picnic, lots of good food and lots of pictures taken.

My husband , my oldest daughter and granddaughter
Oldest family member (88 years old)
Youngest family member (3 months)

Well thats about all for now,
I have to get ready and go meet my Aunt in Sioux Falls for lunch
and catch up with her.
Everyone stay cool, its really hot here in SD

Where did this week go!!!!

Figured it was time for an update
and did not think
that I had much to report
but as I sit here thinking of what to type
I realize that I stitched more than I thought.
Monday I didn't stitch at all,
So Tuesday  I stitched Hope # 6 of the
12 Christmas Blessings from LK.

Then  I got all the alphabet done on BoaF Mystery Sampler
(sorry no picture of update next posting for sure)
The I got all the christmas presents stitched on
Wanted - Santa from LK
(again no picture yet)
Then I found this very cute Freebie
from Daffycat Designs (here)
I finished it as a pillow for my fall basket.
the material it is setting on is the backing.
Saturday I didn't get to stitch because
my DH had there final Pickup pull in Menno, SD
It was 1:30 in the morning before we got home.

Sunday I did a couple more finishes

this one I stitched up this year, it is also by LK

And another LK that I stitched up last year and
just never finish - finished it.

Here is all 3 of them that I finished up

Catching up

Well my niece told me I needed to update my Blog, so here is what I have been up to lately. Last week I truly didn't get much stitching done, and what I did get done I had to rip out because I forgot a couple of rows of stitching and couldn't fix it with out frogging. I was so frustrated that I put it a way. Another reason I didn't stitch much was I have been trying to organize my floss and take inventory of what I have. What a job that can be. I have found that in my DMC floss I have 6-8 of some of the colors. So I am sharing my extra colors with my sister in hopes that she will cross stitch more with me. Of course she can't replace my favorite niece as Chrissy will always be my #1 stitching buddy!

I am almost done with the DMC floss, I am working on the 900's right now

We had a very busy weekend, lots of family and activities going on.
Our little home town of Trent, SD had there
125th Birthday.
They had a parade on Saturday morning and we had several entries in it.
My mother & father in law in there 54 chevy

My husband driving one of our old tractors my son standing behind him and our grandson

this is our 50 chevy pulling truck. Our oldest daughter is driving it and
the rest of the grand kids are in the back.

We also had family from Colorado for all the festivity. So on Friday nite when I got back home from visiting some other family members I walk into my living room to find this:
I had 8 kids (ages 2-10) sleeping in my living room.
some are sleeping, some are hiding, and some are posing for the camera.
6 of them are grandkids and 2 belong to my husbands niece.

Now on a stitching note I finished another Lizzy Kate project, not sure how I will finish finish this piece.

I mentioned at the begining of this blog that I had to do some frogging to do, well I got it all ripped out and stitched properly again. It was on my Birds of a Feather Mystery Sampler. In the tree trunk I miss a couple of rows. But I am back at it again. I will post pictures of it later as I have not got a picture taken yet.

I hope everyone enjoyed there weekend

updates

I read blogs on a daily bases and I just looked and I have not done a blog since the 2nd of July. The 4th of July weekend was a busy weekend for us, we had 3 pickup pulls. One on Saturday in Marrietta, MN, One on Sunday in Gary, SD and on the 4th we were in Wentworth,SD. We had beautiful weather all weekend. This is a family weekend so all 3 kids were home and all 6 grandkids were running around.

On to my stitchy stuff;
I worked on my Santa a little bit but didn't get any pictures of that one.

I joined the group called Lizzie Kate Lovers, and right now they are stitching Lizzie Kate projects on Mondays ( well you can stitch LK any day but in the rotation of things Mondays the day) So I started on  LK's Hugs & Kisses and finished it earlier this week and got it framed and is hanging in my kitchen now.

Well after I finished finished this one I decided to pull out Woodland Enchantress and work on it. I haven't had it out for awhile. So here is what I have accomplished so far as of tonight.

I'm not sure if I will continue stitching this one this week or pull Santa out and work on him for a while. I do know what I will be working on tomorrow as it is Lizzie Kate Monday. So here is my new start for tomorrow.

I am truly not sure how much stitching I will get done this week as my oldest daughter and her 3 kids moved into our house for awhile not sure how long, but that means that I will be taking care of my 3 grandkids all day, all this week at least. I will be praying for patience by the end of the week, I am use to having them over night then sending them home. I hope things work out for her and her family.
Well until the next update
Happy Stitching

I need more stitching time

Ok you would think beings I am not working out side the home that I would be able to blog more often and be able to get more stitching done but that has not been the case this week.
--Monday was spent running errands for the husband, but I did start a Lizzie Kate that evening.
--Tuesday was spent cleaning and laundry and I Crochet in the evening ( something new that I am learning)
--Wednesday I traveled to the closest LNS (an hour away) to get some threads I need and pickup some things that I really didn't need but wanted for my stash.
--Thursday was spent with the 3 grandkids and in the evening after they left I decided to enter stuff into the StashCan program that I purchased last year but never got around to using it. I think I am going to like once I get every thing listed and updated.
--Friday , well I have my blogs read, emails read, facebook read, 2 loads of laundry done (and still in pj's) i think its time to go down to my comfy chair and get some stitching done.
No pictures at this time I promise to get some posted next week.

I hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!
Happy Stitching
