"If more of us valued food and cheer and song...

...above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."
~ J. R. R. Tolkien

Today hasn't been my day. I ate terribly (and feel the affects of it) and have just felt sad and *blah*...it's quite terrible. I even went to the post office to mail something (totally forgetting it is Martin Luther King Jr. Day...thus the PO isn't open). I just feel so discombobulated. Instead of making a sad-sounding post, I thought I would just share a few pictures from the past week...

I made some veggie beef soup in the crock pot and some easy homemade bread last week.

The boys and I worked at checking their school work one evening...

A look in my planner...

I made myself some new planner dividers. :)

Winnie...

and Stella...

So, that's all I've got! :) I've tried to do another Plan with Me (in an Erin Condren Hourly Planner ~ you can watch it HERE if you would like!)...but it's a lot of work...plus, I feel like I sound silly and just don't do well at it. So I am not sure that I will continue making them. I feel like I am making myself too busy and then I am not focusing on what is *most* important. I need to take a step back, slow down and breathe a bit.

Thanks for visiting me here. I'm sorry this is a less-than-joy-filled post!
Kindly,
Katy

  1. We all have "those" days, or at least I do. Sometimes we do need to step back and refocus on the most important, or else it can feel overwhelming trying to fit it all in. Your bread looks very yummy. Maybe one day when you are feeling up to it you could share the recipe.

  3. Katy,
I watched your planner video and it was great. I have watched many and yours fit in perfectly. Just be yourself because that's what we all like about you!
Sorry you had an "off" kind of day. Sometimes I think God allows them to keep us looking to Him for our strength and focus each day. Have a great day and enjoy His blessings.

  5. Hi Katy,
I think we all struggle with blah days like that. I have some eating troubles too, and always regret it when I eat what my body doesn't like.
Truth be told, I like these posts the most where you give a a little snap shot into your life. :D It's really neat and inspiring to see how other women run their homes. So no worries if videos feel like too much. :) I'm totally behind you about slowing down and focusing on what's most important. Good for you! That, also, is not easy to do!
    Thanks for writing,
    -Christina

    P.S. Here's a little encouragement for you.
... But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. (1 Thessalonians 4:10-12)

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt 11:28)
