A Birthday Card for Sonya!

I made this card for my friend Sonya! I hope she likes it! I had procrastinated...more like forgot...and just sent it off this morning! Her birthday is the first and she lives in The Netherlands...I know it'll be there late! UGH *slaps forehead*! I really need an alarm clock in my head! I made this card using my own sketch challenge for the blog candy.

Supplies:
CS: Cocoa Bling from Bazzil, BBayou, WWasabi, VVanilla, & Mellow DP
Ink: BBayou, CChip, & WWasabi
Stamps: Piece Of Cake from Paper Trey
Embellishments: Dimensional Paint
Others: Scalloped punch, Circle punch, & Crop-A-Dile

An Ornamental Christmas

I must have been in sync with DawnL from SCS to use metallic paper today! She came up with the challenge to use metallic paper in some way on a card for todays "Way To Use It". I'm almost always missing out on these because I don't have what they ask for to use...so I was giddy to know that it was to use this paper! I had pulled this sheet out because I was gonna make "ornaments" with them for a swap in my MSN group. I love the way this came out...not to toot my own horn...but TOOT TOOT! I'm very happy with the outcome! It's not exactly what I had in mind at first...but I'm glad it came out this way instead! For the swap idea, I was inspired by Maria's ornaments.

Supplies:
CS: BBayou, SSky, VVanilla, & Mirror
Ink: AArtichoke & BBlack
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree & Christmas Card by Anne Ferrer for Autumn Leaves
Embellishments: Silver ric-rac ribbon
Other: Snowflakes CB folder, Round Tab punch, & Crop-A-Dile

Cards for swaps!!

Here are a few cards I made for the open swaps in my MSN group!

This one was made for the "Reflection" swap. I made an extra one also for a friend who just lost her aunt. I don't like making sympathy cards, it's just sad to, but using this Lovely As A Tree image, I saw it turning into one. Hope I don't have to make anymore sympathy cards in a long time!

This one is for the "Baby, It's Cold Outside!" swap.
For the large snowflake, I used the chipboard flakes sent to me by Andrea Vernagus for the blog candy I won. I used the negative part of the chipboard to draw it in and then traced it with stickles. I hadn't used fibers on cards in a while, so I thought I'd breake them out now...I'm not too happy...but it'll grow on me...lol.

Now this one has a funny story to it. This lets you know how crazy I am about buttons! Here is the details I entered into SCS as this card was also made for today's sketch challenge:
~I had 2 inspirations for this card...one of course sketch 152 provided AND the fact that I have a button obsession! So the story goes as is for the button inspiration: about a month and a half or so ago, I did some serious button shopping on the Bay, I got 3 "baggies" from Autumn Leaves, 3 "boxes" from Basic Grey, & 3 tubes from s.e.i....yeah, I know that's crazy! So, when I receive them, and this was all in 1 day from 2 sellers, hubby says to me..."What do you need SO MANY BUTTONS FOR???!!!" so to that which I replied like Miss Hanna here..."But, I need them!" Yeah, I know I'm a kook! But look...I'm now using them on cards as well rather than just for picture decoration. So..if you read this far...WOW! LOL! Thanks for reading into the mind of this nut case.~

Dr. Update!!!

Ok...Dr. called...and it turns out.....THERE IS NOTHING ABNORMAL OR WRONG WITH ME!!!! She's telling me that it is most likely that I'm just burning both ends of the candle! Great...I already knew that!!! She told me to take 15 - 20 minute interval breaks twice a day to start off. If I need to wash laundry, get help from the kids, same goes for dishes and vaccuming...etc. I baby my kids so much I don't let them do much...well, not too much I baby them, but I want things done right....and that's my problem! My ugly OCD kills me, so she upgraded my meds for that and I should be getting them in the afternoon. There is one she prescribed to sleep since I haven't been sleeping well as well...so she said to try and get to bed at the latest....10....no later than that! My hair falling out, same stuff....stress related. My rash on my face....anxiety rash! She said the symptoms I had coincided with Lupus...but she wants to rule that out...but still hasn't. She said if this persists for more than a month....the rash...and it spreads to my cheeks and the bridge of my nose, then to give her a call to take some more tests. Man all this doctor talk makes me sick!!! The irony huh? I guess I'll just try to take it easy...try being the magical word!

Go Elf Yourself!

Hey....I said ELF! LOL! While I'm waiting on my doctors call, I'm trying to keep myself busy so I wont go crazy. So I went here to elf-a-fy (is that a word?) myself and OMG it's hilarious! Check me out! Gabby The Elf! Have fun making your own at www.elfyourself.com! Share if you like! ;)

Here is also an oldie but goodie...I've been on this one for 3 years now and I love it! Create A Snowflake! While there, search for snowflake #5196370...it's for all my blog readers!

Amy Winehouse~Back To Black Video

If you like Amy Winehouse, check out my favorite vid!

Featured Stamper~Sonya

I had a swap in my MSN group where you were to make a card using swirls, doodles, and/or, flourishes and this is what my girl Sonya came up with! I just had to showcase it because I think it is such an original way to use swirls, doodles, and/or, flourishes! Great job Sonya! This card is so deserving of the Featured Stamper spot! If anyone else has an original idea or out of the box idea to use S, D, and/or, F...feel free to comment and link to your card. I love seeing new things made with S, D, and/or, F's since I'm a S, D, and/or, F freak...lol!

Figgy Pudding Hanna

I made this Hanna card for todays SCS Featured Stamper challenge. I decided to FINALLY break out my Figgy Pudding DP (as hard as it was) to use it for this card. I had to ink my new Hanna for this. I just received her on Friday, so she was aching to come out and play. She had to hold on a bit because I was DOG sick! I've been to my Dr. many times to get lab done and still no straight answers...hopefully tomorrow she has ANY news, good or bad, that's God's will!

Supplies:
CS: Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, & Whisper White
DP: Figgy Pudding
Stamps: Hanna Stamps
Ink: Basic Black & Prismacolor Markers
Embellishments: Ribbon
Others: Diamond Glaze

Featured Stamper

I received this card from a swap, from a group that I belong to. When I opened up the envelope, I was WOWED! It is the cutest thing!!! I love how it feels...believe me, it looks SO MUCH better IRL. The creator is Barb Poole AKA Catscrafting at Cards Made By Hand, a group my good friend Joani manages. I hope she's surprised to see her work up on my blog!

Thanks Barb!

Cookie Holders

Inspired by Marias "Little Debbie Marshmallow Pie Holders" I made these. I didn't get the pies...but I did get some Oatmeal cookies, AND mine aren't even close to her caliber...lol. I'm thinking these would be so cool and easy to whip up for my DS's classmates for Christmas! Thanks Maria for the inspiration!

Supplies:
CS: Wild Wasabi & Whisper White
Stamps: Christmas Cards by Autumn Leaves
Ink: Wild Wasabi & Real Red
Embellishments: Sequin flowers & brad
Others: Giga & Mega Scalloped Circle punches & Paper Piercer

~Happy Thanksgiving~

Happy Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends!
Hope you all have a great one and don't eat too much.
I want to make sure you are all not sleeping from all that turkey and other good stuff so you can visit! LOL!
Happy Thanksgiving

So...about the blog candy....

...is anyone else NOT interested!? I only have 2 entries thus far. C'mon...it's fairly simple. You don't have to send anyone the card...just post it on your blog or email it to me. Or is it the "candy". Did I go to "cheap"? LOL! Suggestions are welcome!

SCS Sketch Challenge Wednesday

So today is Wednesday and what that means is that it's "Sketch Challenge" day over at Split Coast Stampers...I love following those sketches! Todays color challenge over at Split Coast Stampers called for using Pretty In Pink, Wild Wasabi, & Whisper white. I was in a bit of a funk, but managed to pump out these. I'm not too happy about them, but hey, I guess I'll live. LOL!

MY "Treat Box"!

I made this one for me! What a way to keep some of my supplies at hand! I inserted my watercolor pencils, blender pens, piercing tool, exacto knife, artist pens, scissors, & tubes of buttons. I decorated it with what I like, cherries, skulls, fibers, and old bracelets.

Another treat box! Chocolate For Two!

I made another treat box with Christmas in mind. This one was actually my husbands idea...WOW! He never really has any input on ANYTHING I make. He only always says "Oh, yeah, that's nice." So of course I ran with it! I added a baggie of cocoa powder, marshmallows, cinnamon sticks, and graham crackers...hey that's how I have my cocoa! What do you think?
This is a frontal view.

And this is a side view.

Bella LOVES Martinis

And so do I! LOL! Especially dirty ones....so I made this card with that in mind. I have a weird sense of humor and I try to make cards (once in a while) that reflect my true self instead of my cutsie alter ego. You gotta love this "sentiment"! So to you Bella lovers and "drinks" lovers...here's to you! CHEERS!

SCS Limited Supplies Challenge

So I made this card for today's Limited Supply Challenge which was to make a card with limited supplies for a "special ocassion" for when a friend or just anyone is having a bad day. This challenge was to use only 2 - 3 stamps with one having a heart, either designer paper OR and embellishment, limited layers, & a tool of choice (optional). I had just received my DP I bought on eBay this week and I had to use it...I mean that's what I bought it for right? LOL! I also used this AWESOME clear stamp set from Fancy Pants called From the Garden and OMG it's yummy! As soon as I saw it, I had to get it. Anywho, I was at a loss because I didn't know what to make using a heart, so I went with this and is now sitting on my desk because I love it! What do you think?

Supplies:
CS: Kraft, Whisper White, & Owl Pals DP by Serendipity
Stamps: From the Garden by Fancy Pants
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, & Groovy Guava

I was asked about my "studio"...

...and well, it's not all it's cracked up to be! LOL! I don't have a special corner, or a special camera, or even a special lamp! So here are a few pics. Please look away from the messy desk! My "background" is a basic poster sheet folded in half and then in half again.

Here you can see where I added my buttons or other "embellishments" to pretty up the picture.

Here I add the card by placing it just behind the buttons. After that I take the picture with NO FLASH, then I "fix" it with Digital Image Pro and add my watermark!
Then TADA, you get this:

Beate's FUN Treat Box

When I first saw this treat box tutorial on the SCS front page, I thought, I don't think I can make that!!! Well, I put my fear aside and made one!!! It is an awesome treat box to make! It looks intimidating, but when you make your first, you'll want to make more. I made this simple one right now, but I'm gonna transform it for a friend who has a birthday coming in a couple weeks and is having a bon-fire. I'm the front pocket I'm gonna add a baggie of mallows, in the left pocket graham crackers, in the back pocket skewers, and in the right pocket the chocolate bars! How cool is that. I'll update later on the transition! If you want to make your own, you can find it HERE! Thanks for stopping by!

SCS SC150

Hello all! Here is a card I made this morning for SCS Sketch Challenge #150! I also went into some more of my scraps where I found this long strip of PP I had. I don't even know where the paper is from, but I liked how it looked so I used it to incorporate it into the sketch. Is it just me or do the stamped pines look like a forest when you look out the window? Oh, and I swear I have a new addiction.....buttons!!! I bought me a butt load of buttons from Autumn Leaves, Basic Grey, & S.E.I.!!! I already had LOTS, but thought I needed more. Can someone call the psych ward, I think they're missing a patient! :S

I also made this next card using the sketch, but went a little rebel by making it vertical. I hope I don't get a whoppin' by the stamping ladies with their unmounted rubbah! YIKES! PLUS, I heard poor shopping Hanna wheaping late at night and thought I would be nice and let her out today. She was nice enough to let me ink her and use her for the "rebel" card...lol. You see the deco on her dress? Well, don't tell my DD, but I used her nail decals!!! Yes, I said nail decals! LOL! Thanks for looking!

Sisterhood Of The Blogging Stampers

I am now a proud member of the Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers! It all started by visiting Kelly's blog and found a link to a thread posted on SCS for blogging stampers looking for "sisters". So I followed the link and joined up! I was so excited to join as no one can have to many stamping sisters. If you look over to the right, just below my SBS banner, you'll find my sisters. Visit their blog if you like, there is some great talent!

Now on to a bit about me so my fellow sisters can learn a bit about me.

I am Gabby, SAHM of 3 beautiful kiddies ages 12, 8, & 3 and wife to Oscar for 10 years come Feb. 21st. We've been together since November of 1994, so this past week, on the 8th., we had our 13 year "date". I'm a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator (hobby with friends who buy thru me) and love it. My love for stamping started when I joined a cardmaking group and saw the beauty created with stamps. From there, all went haywire. Now I've spent more than I can count on stamps and my hubby adores me for it...lol...in my dreams! I'm also a digital scrapper, make jewelry, bath & body good stuff, party favors, & I love photography! Anymore you want to know, please feel free to ask at anytime!

Thank you Alana for submitting the thread on SCS! You rock!!

A New Look!

So I decided that as I grew on my work, I also had to grow on my look. I spent a bit over 1 hour to create the banner above...MY VERY FIRST digitally made banner! I'm proud of it being it is my first. Whatch think?

Post update: Just to let you know, I made this banner using my Digital Image Pro program my husband bought me when I started getting into digital scrapping. Since I don't paper scrap anymore due to kids wanting to pull on things...lol. I browse online for places that offer digital paper and embellishments and what not. Here are a few I go to on a daily:
Scrap Jazz
Banner Woman
Atomic Cupcake
Braniac Designs
3 Spcrapateers
.....to name a few!

Also, if you have a great printer, you can print out digital paper! How cool is that is you see some patterned paper you like and it's NOT available in stores!

Jason's Dome Card

So after seeing Jason's (I Made This) dome card, I thought I would try to replicate it without a tutorial, which I know he doesn't want to share *wink*! :P But being that I'm always trying to "analyze" things, I decided I'd give it a shot! I know mine isn't great like his, but who was I to pass up the chance to try it! LOL! Here is his card I loved! Ok, since I'm "plugging" his blog, why not check out his wifes! She does beautiful work...he's just the twisted opposite of her, in a good way though! Check out Kelly's blog!

Supplies:
CS: Glorious Green, SU DP, & Watercolor Paper
Stamps: Lovely As A Tree & Hugs & Wishes
Ink: Garden Gree
Others: Paper Piercer, Circle & Oval Coluzzle, & StampLiner (like Stampamajig)

Here she is!

Well here she is, my new niece London and moi! The pictures looks kind of dark because it was taken with my camera phone since DUH me forgot my camera at home. She is the cuttest little thing and OMG that baby smell.....I so miss it in my kids! I held her for 3 straight hours and didn't want to give her back...lol. The first picture is my mom holding her before she got her "bath". She's only 5 days and just look at those browsing eyes!!! The bottom picture is London and moi! I tried to clean this picture up as much as possible, but this was the best I can get it bright. Thanks for looking! :D And most of all, thanks to all who left me congrats greetings.

I'm a new aunt!!

So my SIL had her baby over the week while I've been watching my nephew, their first born, and I thought I would make her a card. I'm most excited about this baby because it's my VERY FIRST niece from my brother. He already has 4 boys, so he finally hit the target with a little girl. I can't wait to meet her, I'm sure she'll be gorgeous as my SIL is African American. All my nephews have been the cutest with dimples and long curly hair. Anywho, I'm going to meet her tomorrow when I drop off my nephew since they're ready for him to come home. I made this card, but not too happy with it because I couldn't find a cute caramel color for her skin, so I made her tan. Not my best by far. This card measures 4 X 4 and it was also done with Beate's sketch for this weekend (WSC27).

Supplies:
CS: Lavender Lace, Pretty In Pink, & Whisper White
DP: Prints Almost Amethyst
Stamps: Baby Firsts & Curvy Verses
Ink: Basic Black & Prismacolor Markers
Embellishments: Paper flower & button (Autumn Leaves)
Others: Piercing Tool

Hanna Likes To PARTY!

Here is yet another Hanna card I made. Yes, she's now my
weapon of choice, but just look at how cute she is! Who can resist her? LOL! Anyway, since this Hanna set is so versatile, I thought I would make Hanna a party girl. I thought about this one with my girls, Nic, hosted "Party" swap in our MSN group. Poor Hanna, she's so skinny, she will be drunk with just a couple sips from this Martini! Slow down Hanna, and party safely!

The Martini glass is covered with Diamon Glaze to make it look like an actual glass, even though you can't tell from the picture. I also wanted to compliment the "Retro Mod" patterned paper with the Traffic Jam Cuttlebug folder, and I loved the PP so much, and yes, ut's from my scraps, that I decided to dress up Hanna with it! I'm loving paper piecing Hanna to dress her up. What else will I come up with, stay tuned! :P

Supplies:
CS: Basic Black, Cranberry Crisp, & Whisper White
DP/PP: Mod Squares from making Memories (I think)
Stamps: Hanna Stamps, Favorite Teddy Bear (party hat), & Cocktails (vendor unknown)
Ink: Basic Black & Prismacolor Markers
Embellishments: Silk Flower & Button
Others: Traffic Jam Cuttlebug folder, notch punch, & Diamond Glaze

Isn't Hanna adorable??? Wanna buy some Hannas? Go to Krissy's Kreations! I also used a sketch inspired by SCS! I didn't have Soft Sky, but used Bashful Blue...close enough...lol.

Winter Blues

OMG I love how this card turned out! Being from So. Cal. I don't get to see snow, ONLY on the tube! I love Winter, but I wish I lived out in the country where I can see the changes of the seasons, not just feel it. This card will be going to my swap partners in the Blue & White color combo swap hosted by Sonya in my MSN group. I hope my partners like it as much as I liked making it.

Coming out of a depressed funk, this was the best I can come up with. Hope later is better. :P

I'M A FEATURED STAMPER!!!! That's soooo cool!

I have NEVER been a featured stamper anywhere so this is so cool and exciting for me! The wonderful Anita Van Hal sent me the Stampin' Up! set Just Like You as a winner of the Blog Candy for a Cause by Andrea Vernagus. I was asked to make a card with it to be featured on her blog...so I kinda expected it to get published, but OMG it was sooo cool to actually see it up! This is the card I made with the set. You can "check me out", just click on the picture!

Supplies:
Stamps: Just Like You
Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Mellow Moss, Pretty In Pink, & Whisper White
Ink: Purely Pomegranate, Garden Green, Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, & Bravo Burgundy (Stamin' Write Markers)
Accessories: Pink ribbon (non SU), Spots & Dots Cuttlebug folder, 1 1/8 circle punch, scalloped punch, & paper piercer

Project reduce scraps is still in effect

I haven't update recently due to battling my OCD & depression demons, but I feel I have to try hard to get myself out of that funk...so last night when I was at my peak of almost being in tears...I made this card. I have a card I received from Maria Bell of Card Inspired sitting on my desk because I just love it so much, and it inspired me to make this card. Can you believe it's all from LARGE pieces of scrap paper I had? I didn't think I would have large pieces to work with...lol. Anywho, I just love these colors together. Purple is my all time favorite color and what a better color to pair it up with than green?

Supplies: SCRAPS from various vendors!
Stamps: Just Like You
Ink: Perfect Plum & Old Olive
Embellishments: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched ribbon, Cuttlebug Sliders, & Butterfly bead charm with wire works.
Others: Mega & Giga scalloped punch, SU scalloped punch, & Cuttlebug Traffic folder

Here is that card that inspired me.

I'm baaaack!

I've actually been back since Monday night, but OMG I've been TIRED!!! In between going to AZ and Halloween...well, I needed some rest! BUT, I'm back and ready to share! Ok, it's a new month, so in a week or 2, I'll be having my first ever blog candy challenge! In the meanwhile, here is a card I made for SCS SC148. Not my favorite card by far, but hey, I didn't stamp ANYTHING since Thursday!!! GASP!!! Here it is!
