It's time to scrap some Christmas layouts!

As nice as it is to do something different, red and green will always be the go-to colours for Christmas and next week we're using the wonderful "Home for Christmas" collection from Kaisercraft in all my classes. At TJ's Scrappin' with Style we're doing this one:

There  is some nice and subtle gold and silver shine here and there...
and we're die cutting some adorable mini bows:

For the rest of the classes I have some news:
I will no longer be teaching at Scrapulous (a personal decision), but until Christmas classes are going ahead at different locations. So if you're interested in coming, you MUST let me know and I will give you the details. Just until I work a few things out.
So, here is what we're doing:

I've used the "Home for Christmas" and "Basecoat" collections for this layout and it's just so easy to scrap with these!

I've used the "Home for Christmas" and "Basecoat" collections for this layout and it's just so easy to scrap with these! There is some lovely chipboard (available in 3 similar designs),
and a little angel too (he was a bit gaudy in gold, so he got a few coats of white spray paint)
Tug in a few more embellishments and it's done! So if you're up for some quick Christmas scrapping, contact me below!

Christmas cards with Charming Words

When it comes to Christmas, I just love the traditional colours! The Home for Christmas 6x6" paper pad is perfect for making lots of Christmas cards.

It goes really well with a rustic look:

And it also suits the red-and-green colour scheme:

Team it up with some Charming Words (find them all here) and any simple card will get the wow factor!

♥♥♥

Here I used:
♥ poinsettia

♥♥♥
The red stamen stems aren't just a great tongue twister, they're delightful as a wreath too!

Simply twist one branch into a double circle, tie with some twine and cover with a fussy cut poinsettia from the paper pad. A few extra white stamen will help it not to look so flat. And a little 2015 charm is so "now".

♥♥♥
If you like it a little more frilly, try cutting out a circle as a bauble...

 ...and decorate it with:
♥ tiny rose
♥ pink stamens

♥♥♥
Like it more traditional? Try using some of the red gloss paper from the pad and rub a baby wipe over the corners. It will take some of the colour off and show the glossy design all the better.

Then decorate with a green merry Christmas charming word:

♥♥♥
Do you like to make your own embellishments? Why not take a golden bauble mini pick and whip up a sparkly bauble:

It's super easy and quick and the golden rhinestone chain is included too! Finish it off with a pretty organza ribbon bow (tie two layers into a bow for extra volume!)
Then add some more star flowers

♥♥♥
A strip of Christmas felt ribbon always makes a pretty border. The kraft and white combo goes well with a little black, if you like it a tiny bit more non-traditional.

I used:
♥ black metal textured stars (among my all-time faves)
♥ red twine

So, as you can see, the Home For Christmas paper is super versatile and you can make lots and lots of cards from just the one 6x6" pad, some cardstock and some pretty embellies from my2angels.
Happy cardmaking!

Aussie Christmas

If you're dreaming of a white Christmas in the Aussie heat, you will agree that both are very nice. And why not combine them? My layout combines snowflakes, holly, white trees and a beach photo. Because I can! Wanna join me for my first class of 2015?

We're making some pretty flowers:

Glitter on the trees:

 Embossed snowflakes on vellum:

And resist, stamping and masking on the background. It all starts out with a white piece of cardstock!

We spent Christmas 2014 at the beach again, but I haven't got any photos printed out yet. It doesn't matter if you scrap a hot or cold Christmas photo, this layout suits both!

I based it on this sketch, which I found on Pinterest here. Unfortunately there was no link to the person who created it:

Noel

Is it really Christmas time already? I still have lots of photos from Christmas past that I have never scrapped and I came across this photo of little Leah. I wanted to create a whimsical layout, with just a tiny photo and this is what we will do next week in class.
There is a pretty gold frame and some very subtle embossing on the background with distress inking. A few stamped baubles, a tiny wooden tree and a candy cane charm and the Christmas look is complete.

Would you like to learn how to make your own glitter dots? It's super easy.

So, come along and scrap those Christmas memories! For those who have lots of photos to scrap, I suggest teaming up this layout with a pocket page, using the scraps.

Oh Christmas Tree

Can you believe it - this is my last class of the year! Next week we're doing a nice and easy project, so we have time for a Christmas party after class!
My photos aren't perfect, they were snapped with my i-phone (which I've been told is sooo outdated) and printed on my home printer (never my best choice), but who's got time for perfect photos at Christmas?! This time of the year is for enjoying the magic.
...And fixing the deck...
So out come the punches and dies!
Don't like snowflakes in the Aussie Christmas heat? Too bad, cause here they are. I miss white Christmas. Seriously, you can replace them with stars if you really want.
And here is my Christmas tree in all its glory:

Be Merry

If you're anything like me and you love having lots of Christmas paper, you will love showing them off with this class project.

I used lots of my Christmas dies and the Punch-around-the-circle punch, a cute Christmas bird stamp and some bling.

Wild Angel with Filigree and a Doily

Here is how to make a
wild angel from a doily and one of these flower filigree borders

Christmas Angel Cards

Use strong scissors or tin snips to cut off the wings and 2 of the petals from the flower like this.

Christmas Angel Cards

Take a 11cm doily and fold it in half ...

and then fold it into thirds like this.

Christmas Angel Cards

Draw a line along the edges with Glossy Accents and pour some Glass Glitter over it. You can find several colours of Glass Glitter in the glitter and microbeads section.

Now glue the wings, the flower petals ("hands") and a circle pendant on the folded doily like this.

Make some wild hair by winding some wool strands around 3 fingers 4 times (or more, depending on the wool). Tie the middle with some thread and cut open the sides.

Glue it on the head, draw on a face with permanent marker - if you want - and your wild angel is done.

Christmas Angel Cards

You can use her on a card, or as a tree decoration (tie a ribbon through the loop on the circle pendant).

Christmas Angel Cards

Here I have made a card using a piece of kraft card, a bit of lace and some gold baker's twine
