'Fluffy' Bracelet!

This is adapted from a pattern in the first ever issue of Bead magazine. I have altered it a fair amount as it is a really basic pattern otherwise. I think that the colours work really well and it will soon be appearing in my Folksy shop (link to right of page).

Groovy Earrings!

I saw these in Bead and Button and have been intending to make them for ages. I finally got around to it yesterday and finished them this morning. They were really easy to get to grips with, but they look complicated - I think that they are an amazing design. They are going in my Folksy shop (see link on right).
I lost another half a pound this week - which is REALLY strange. The only thing I can attribute it to is being unwell, because I did NOT deserve it.

Something Different - Strung Bracelet

I am not sure whethter this is nice enough to put on my Folksy shop. Opinions would be gratefully received, even if it is to say, 'No'! I tried something a little bit different to my usual 'modus operandi', to see if it would work. It did but it is a little too fiddly for what I would be able to sell it for.
Anyway, please do stop by and leave a little comment...

Four of My Bracelets

All together - don't they look lovely! The pink/purple one is sold but the others are in my Folksy shop. Sorry to keep banging on about the shop - I am trying to get some sales, to make it worth my while using Folksy. Ignore me if you hate blogs touting their wares!

For FRAN...

You asked for 'pinky purples' and this actually works, despite me saying it wouldn't! I really hope you like it - if not, I'll put it in my shop and make another one for you.

Another Stripy 'Cordoba' Bracelet

This time I used 3mm cube beads instead of 4mm so the bracelet has turned out narrower. The colours are hard to see (blooming winter light) but they are kind of 'egyptian' - turquoise, gold, bronze etc. I am really pleased with how it has turned out and it will be going in my Folksy shop asap.

More Wire-wrapping

Made with garnet nuggets and 4mm garnet coloured glass facet beads. The end cones are made from silver-plated 0.8mm wire. I love it!

Bracelets!

The top two are (probably obviously!) the same bracelet - both have labradorite in them. The second bracelet has coil end caps that I made myself. I bought some Tiger's eye chips and garnet nuggets today, so may do another wire-work bracelet with them. It seems to work so well.
I cleared my Folksy shop of items a couple of weeks ago, as I was just not selling anything, except to people who I know from the Crafter...oo forum. I was getting disillusioned with my items and am intending on cutting a lot of them up. However, I may put a few of my favourite, recently made items in, just to see whether I can sell much this time.

Another Wire-Wrapped Bead Bracelet

And look what it did to my poor little hand! I have to lay off the wire-wrapping for a few days, until the blister goes down...
The bracelet is made from 6mm glass pearls, 3mm glass pearls, MOP discs, 6mm fire-polished glass beads and 10mm fire-polished glass beads. I am not usually a fan of green things, but I love this. I added a little feature dangle on the clasp, to give a bit more interest. I even had a go at making my own jump-rings, with 1mm wire. I think 0.8mm would be better, but, at least the one I used is really strong!

Another Netting Pattern - Nephertiti

I got the pattern for this from the internet. It is so much easier to understand than the last one and, once you have done a few loops, it is not necessary to refer to the pattern. You are supposed to use 4mm facets at all of the junctions, but I decided to also use 10° Toho triangles and 8° seed beads, to make the work curve more. After a section using 4mm facet beads, I decided to cut down the width and only use the triangles and larger seed beads. I really like the effect and am going to make it into a choker for my course. The earrings are already planned too, and I think the whole set will be stunning.

And Another One, In Reds

This one uses 3mm pearls instead of facet beads, so is slightly less sparkly. The mix of colours was really lovely. I am thinking of making another one in greens, but am having a rest from this for a while!

The Thursday Night Project - 17 June

This is a design that I thought up today, based on a 'loop-di-loop' pattern that was in a very early issue of Bead Magazine. Instead of just doing loops of beads, I have done one row of strands with facets on, one row of leaves and the obligatory row of loops. It all blends in nicely and is actually fairly substantial to hold. As you can see from the bottom picture, I have not finished the toggle fastener, so that is what I intend to do tonight.

C & G Course/TTNP

Last Friday's project was to make an amulet bag from tubular peyote stitch. I used delica beads as I love the way the finished item looks like material - smooth and sleek. Peyote is my favourite stitch so this week was great for me! We will eventually have to make two amulet bags (one with netting), and both have to have different straps and fringing. I decided to use faceted beads in the fringing and matched it in the strap, which still needs to be finished. This strap is going to double up as my TTNP for the Crafter...oo forum.

A Kit Bracelet from Pandorion

I bought this last week, along with two other kits (my Christmas present to myself). I really like it although I would not do the picot edging on future bracelets as it is too dainty for my taste. The facet beads really catch the light and give a little 'bling' to the wrist.

TTNP - A Little Bit More...

You might be able to see that I managed to add in the bridging beads and facets last night. I also made a start on one of the sides as I finally decided to make it into a full necklace. I haven't done any more though as Mum and I had a lovely day out.

Fancy Wave Facet Bead Bracelets

These bracelets are worked from a pattern in the latest copy of Bead Magazine. They were really easy and quick to make and I think they look really pretty. I changed the fastenings on each one so as not to have exact copies.
