The Sky is the Limit!

Hello friends! I have several graduation cards to finish and this is the first. I used Papertrey Ink's set Up, up and away to say to some great graduates that they can achieve their dreams! We were at a graduation party for a lovely neighborhood girl last night. The variety of guests was a reminder that it really does 'take a village'. At such a young age her life has touched so many others! For her, the sky really is the limit and we wish her well. Funny thing, it doesn't seem all that long ago that I was finishing highschool and headed off the college! However, it was quite a long time ago-36 years to be exact!! Wow!
I wouldn't trade where I am now to be 17 again, would you? It sure was an exciting time though!
Anyway, you didn't come to hear (read) my babblings! I used a nestability shape in Bashful Blue to "frame" my sky scene. The clouds were cut with a PTI die and then stamped with soft sky. Then the edges were sponged with Baja Breeze. My balloons were also cut with PTI dies and then stamped and colored with copics in the following colors:
R08, R17 and R29
YG01, 13 and 07
Y04 and Yo8
B02, 04, ans 06
E30 and E35
stickles were added to areas of the balloons.
Instead of a ribbon I used my Scor-buddy to score 3 lines across the striped paper from MME
and also stitched that layer.

It's raining yet again despite the forecasts for today's weater! Hope the sun is shining on you!!

Enjoy the ride!

Hi! Wow, let me first say thanks for visiting! I'm over the moon that I gained 5 new followers the other day! I appreciate all of you!! I know I'm not able to post as often as some others out in blogland so I am very grateful that you want to know what's new here. Thank you from my heart!
Thank you for all the comments and interest in my Magnolia black and white with a pop cards (last post). I will get Katie's video tutorial linked up AND I will see what I can do about showing the flowers. The sunflower was the 'brainchild' of my good friend Michelle or mitchygitchygoomy on splitcoast. Yep, I even know her in person! Lucky me! Here is the LINK to Michelle's card where she gives some directions. I used a Papertrey Ink die for smaller flowers.

I made this card for my nephew-in-law this week Using Papertrey Ink products the masculine card came together pretty quickly.

No ribbons or buttons, but I needed to have DIMENSION!

Thanks again for coming by!

Hugs, and have a great day!

Black and White with a POP Hop!

Hello! Well, it's our final Monday for this school year and I'm getting into transition mode. That means I start on lists for summer work and projects! Cleaning house (a big yucko!) is first on my list.
Enough of that!! It's the Magnolia-licious DT monthly blog hop! The hop started at the Mag Highlites blog if you'd like to go there here's the LINK
OR if you've joined me from Maureen's blog, you're right on track!

I decided to go truly "black and white" with my images! This was very popular a year or so ago and I never tried it then. I'm so glad I did now!! what fun! and I love the results!! This is #103 COOL EDWIN from the recent Sweet Rainbow collection. Mine is the regular size but he is also available in Mini! My POP of color is actually Two colors and I hope I'm not in too much trouble for that! I used Papertrey Ink Hawaiin shore and Daffodil from Stampin Up for my Sunflower.
AND NOW KEEP GOING 'CUZ I MADE TWO CARDS!!
Here's my girl viersion in the person of TILDA WANTS A HUG! (I'm sorry, I don't know the number) Black and white lend themselves to artsy creations and that's what this one is, I think! I used a scrap of plaid and some black marker lines to help balance the flowers and Tilda. Showing so much white card base is really strange for me!

And, in close up~Tilda and then the flowers!

Colors are pretty easy! I used a tutorial from Katie Cotton (video) and the markers W1, 3, 5, 7 and 9!

And, speaking of inspiration, we want you to play along too!! The prize is THREE Magnolia-licious stamps of YOUR CHOICE!! You have until June 30 to enter!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

Buddies!

Hi! I made this card for our 5 year old great nephew! His birthday is today-late again!
I haven 't colored a Whipper Snapper image in a while and this was the one I decided on for him Hope it's boyish enough! I decided to keep the rest of the card simple-no bows or flowers! But, buttons are okay, I think! And some fauz stitching to frame the image.

DP is from Prima Marketing-Dude collection from a couple of years ago.

Guess that's it for this short post!

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for swinging by!

Circle Easel Belated card

Good morning, friends!
This is the first shape easel card I've ever made even though I've admired the ones other paper crafters have made for awhile now. It was fun and easy! I used #412 HUGO THE SNAIL available right now at Magnolia-licious! He's one of the adorable stamps in the Sweet Rainbow collection. He was awesome to color! Iused Purely Pomegranate and Certainly Celery as my guiding colors. His shell went a little more towards 'grape' than I intended.

I only stamped and colored one image, but I cut part of his shell to raise it on dimensionals and then glued the rest of him to the card base.

This is one of my favorite sentiments to use with snails (or turtles). It is an oldie from All that Scraps and it cracks me up every time I read it.

Well, I guess that's it for this terrific Tuesday! Hope yours is all you wish for!

Thinking of You-on the grow!

I received a Stampin' Up order last week and used the Featured Stamper challenge yesterday as inspiration to create this card. I just love this Vespa! I used a white card base, soft sky and then a layer of Papertrey Ink's Linen Vellum. The dp is SU-either Rose Red or Pomegranate, but I colored the Vespa in Pomegrante colors:
RV14,17 and 19
Flower pots are YR12 and 18. Tires and seat are C1, 3, 5 and 9
Surrounding the image is BG10 and BG11

The pearls were an afterthought to cover up a blunder when I stenciled the edges in Aqua Mist! I like them, though!
Have a good Monday! UGH!
Thanks much for visiting!!

Sunshiny Sunflower!

Hello and happy Saturday! As my husband and friends have been outside this morning dismantling our storage shed I have been in the house stampin'! I have to put lunch on soon, but thought I'd try to get my post done first! This card came together from pieces left from my recent mini Magnolias. I switched from peach to daffodil when I saw my friend, Michele's gorgeous sunflower card! I just had to make some!!
My sunflower is cut from 3 of the Papertrey Ink dies, put through the crimper to weaken the fibers and then smushed by hand. After that I sponged More mustard on the edges and put the three together with glue dots. I pushed and curled the petals where I wanted them. I used leaves from the Magnolia die to make the small leaves peaking out-what is that part of the flower called? The sentiment is SU and the leaf/stem stamp is Papertrey. I used dotted paper from Graphic 45 for my sunflower center. The plaid bg stamp is my favorite oldie from All That Scraps.

And then there is sweet Tilda (#3005 MINI TILDA IN RUBBER BOOTS) who is colored with copics! For once, I feel like I got the folds in her dress right! Norma is my idol when it comes to coloring 'fabric'! I will have to look up the colors used, but they are the same as the two cards I posted on June 1.

I'd better get the guys lunch on! They've been workin' hard! Hope you are having a great day!

Take care until next time!

BIRTHDAY WISHES from Sweetie Tilda!

Hi stampin' friends! Hope you are well today! I finished this card last night, but with work, exercise and gardening was too tired to create my post! I know we've all been there! I've used paper piecing with the GORGEOUS new mini papers from Magnolia-licious! In stock now! I love, love them and think I might just need another package! You can see three of the patterns here. They would match Rich Razzleberry, but here I've used them with Purely Pomegranate with Soft Sky behind our girl. The Tilda is #353 SWEETIE TILDA and isn't she just so sweet?! With the paper pieced dress she was so quick to color! I used RV66 and 69 on her dress and blended with RV00. Her socks and bows are RV00 with RV63. She is cut out and 'curved' before adhering. The she is on dimensional pieces with the edges glued with a quick dry glue. AND, the MINI Sweet Rainbow collection is also available right NOW! Diana and her store are AMAZING!!
I'm excited to be entering her in several challenges:
Craft your Passion #61- anything goes
Just Magnolia and Hanglar Stangler- anything goes with lace option
Magnolia Stamp Lovers -anything goes
Card Cupids- layers
Dream Valley -stamp something (no digis)
I Heart 2 Stamp- June sketch AND
TOMIC-The Official Magnolia Inspiration blog- NEW- birthday cards!

A couple more pics....

And now I need to get going-work calls again! (But only for 14 more days!)

Have a terrific Tuesday!

More orange and aqua!

I told you I was addicted to these colors! Actually, I haven't had time to do new work this weekend. I made this when I was working on the other recent posts and thought I'd show it today!
My nephew was married to his bride last night in a beautiful ceremony followed by a nice reception! They are soooo happy! (That's why no time!) Oh, and gardening!
Anyway I used some of the scraps of background paper that I had left over and Papertrey Inks' Flower fusion small set . I think this is number 4. The sentiment is from another PTI set.

I'm working on those other two mini Maggies as well as something with some of the new full size collection called Sweet Rainbow AND did you see that Diana has the new collection in the store in mini form already?! They are in stock and ready to go! I have some on the way to my house!
We would love to have you join in the June challenge on the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog-to use only a mini or minis on your card or project! Prize being given!!
Well, it's back to work so I can show you another card soon!
Thanks for coming by! I hope YOU are having a great weekend!

ONE CHALLENGE...TWO CARDS!

Hi friends! As I mentioned in my quick post yesterday, Janiel has challenged us (Yes, you too! LOL!) to use only minis on a card or project! I'm not so good at scenes with several of our dear Maggies~too much planning! But, I love, love to use them individually on A2 sized cards! That's what I've done! I'm am crazy about these colors-SUs peach parfait and Papertrey Ink's Hawaiin Shore! With a little cream and Kraft thrown in, I'm in color HEAVEN! Black is great with them too! For my first card I've used #377 Mini Traveling Tilda sitting on #517 Mini bench. I've colored her up with copics that I will list below. The roses are made from the My Favorite Things rose dies and Peach Parfait paper which is then sponged on the edges (after I made the rose) with Cajun Craze. the leaves are from Papertrey Ink.

My second card uses #3028 Mini TILDA WITH THREE FLOWERS and #504 Mini STONE WALL. I've used the same colors for my paper choices and I'll mention here that my plaid is an old background stamp from All that Scraps and the Peach is stamped in Peach in with SUs Paisley background stamps! I {{heart}} making my own dps!

I hope you like my two samples and, once again, please check out the Magnolia-licious Highlites blog for more inspiration and information on linking YOUR card or project and the PRIZE!!

Thanks so much for being here today! I {{heart}} you!

Cheryl

For you,,,,quickly!

Hi! I wanted to post today so I thought I'd show you another card with the Papertrey Ink set I just got. Don't you love aqua and black? Me too! The card is pretty self explanatory, but not there is some shading on the flowers. I stamped them in Cool Caribbean, but then shaded them with a slightly deeper shade copic marker. I like the effect! I have another card with this technique, but tomorrow I plan to post my June Magnolia'licious June Challenge CARDS! Yep, more than one!
Janiel has given us the challenge to use only minis and if you check out today's (June 1) post on the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog you will see some beautiful works of art!!

The colors of my card today are a bit of a hint to what I'm working on for my Magnolia-licious cards, but we sure want to see what you come up with! Please check it out and join us in Mini Mag fun!

Have a great day!
Cheryl
