I'm Back and A Recent Find - Peonies and Poppyseeds!

I've been taking some time off from blogging, there comes a point where there's only so much updating your home and showing Goodwill finds and I came to a point where I
didn't know what to blog about anymore.

If this has happened to you, I recommend that you step away and see what happens.

I had several things happen in my private life, I quit my job, started two other jobs (one at a time), didn't feel like it was the right fit for me and quit those jobs too. It took four months to find another job and I am content with the position. Of course, the pay is never enough, but it's good enough, and I work 11:30 - 8, which I never thought I would enjoy but it's nice. I have my mornings to do things, go to appointments and it's working for us. We don't have any kids at home anymore and it's a very nice change. Plus, can I mention, I love the people that I work with! Huge bonus!

So I'm feeling so much better about everything and that includes blogging!

Are You on Facebook?

One of my all time favorite bookstores, Barnes and Noble is on Facebook and this week they hosted a live chat with Debbie Macomber (my favorite author)!

And there were lots of women asking questions being asked. I couldn't believe that she answered a couple of my questions!

I have two favorite books...

and

And because I love to read cookbooks

I just purchased Cedar Cove Cookbook.

Make sure to watch the video and see if you're not drooling for her Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookies.

Also if you sign Debbie's guestbook, she has monthly drawings - you could win one of her books!

If you're not currently on Facebook
please consider it, there's a lot of great information out there and it's free to set up an account!

Happy Saturday!

Precious Letter

Yesterday, I was going cleaning our cupboards and drawers looking for items to sell at our rummage sale for next weekend.

And I found a letter from Ashley, it reminded of a time that I had forgotten about.

Ashley and I always loved Precious Moments figurines but this one has always been Ashley's favorite.

Holding your fingers like this means "I love you."

Whenever Ashley was going somewhere, whether it was to school or outside - we always held our fingers this way. And most of the time, we did it with both hands..meaning we really loved each other.

Ashley was 10 years old when she wrote this letter while
at Bible camp.

Ashley is now 20 years old and a foreign exchange student in Japan and I'm pretty sure she's reading my blog.

So..Ashley....

Here's two pinky loves to you!

Boy, does time ever fly by...

Have a great weekend!

And Ashley - I love you!!

One Day Makeover

I love to spend time on the computer looking at rooms that have been redone.

Here's a one day makeover done in New York using what the homeowner already had.

Pictures are courtesy of House Beautiful.

Here's the before, not really all that bad.

Things are starting to get moved around..

And here's the after!

Head over to House Beautiful for many more pictures.

Isn't it a great transformation? I love it!

They Fell in Love from Anthropologie

I had to share my first order from Anthroplogie.

The receipt came in this burlap bag, how cute is this? Their name is even embrodiered.

This tag was wrapped around the set of three towels.

This is the other side of the tag - this is too cute to not keep.

The embrodiery is so precious...

What a great gift to give somewhat getting married or like me - married for awhile!

Aren't these just the cutest towels?

Philosophy - Favorite Things

Because I'm taking part in the "Favorite Thing Swap" with Dandelion Wishes, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out what some of my favorite things are. And this one was right in front of me, or I should say, right on my bathroom counter!

When QVC had a "try me offer" with some of the most favorite Philosophy products, I jumped at the chance to and placed my order. I had tried the "When Hope Is Not Enough" but I was curious to sample the bath & body items, because I didn't want to spent $30+ for some body spray if I had no idea what it smelled like. I think it was the third shipment and I received Pure Grace colgone and body wash and I was hooked!

Philosophy says that Pure Grace is for anyone who wants to smell soap-and-water fresh and clean, and prefers a light fragrance that can be used all over the body. I can't say that I totally agree with their description but think of how clothes smell when they've been hung outside to dry - how do you describe that scent? (I haven't hung clothes outside in 10+ years but you never forget the smell.)

So I ask you, have you ever tried Philosophy? What's one of your favorite items?

One of My Favorite Things - Flameless Candles

I've been thinking about the Favorite Swap that I talked about yesterday. I was trying to decide what some of my favorite things are and I realized it has to be flameless candles! No worry about a flame unattended, candle burning down to the bottom and forgetting about it, candle wax oozing all over the table or in my son's case - down the wall and on to the carpet, no soot and the list goes on and on. I still have regular candles but I love the flameless candles that I got off QVC. I ordered the set in champagne and wished I could get them all.

The Today's Special Value on QVC is a set of 2 glass hurricanes with the flameless candles. The glass hurricanes are etched and come in three different colors. If you've ever been tempted, QVC offers a 30 day money back guarantee. They have a timer and come on at the same time everyday, I have mine set to automatically turn on and off every day before I get home from work so I'm not greeted to a dark house.

Oh, and I don't have to worry about my kitties shinging their whiskers (it's happened!)

So what's one of your favorite things?
