Spring Bouquet for Mum by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 10 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here today. Spring has definitely sprung here in Scotland and this weekend we also celebrate Mothering Sunday. So I decided with all this in mind to make a Mother's Day Card.

I started by layering up paper which was distressed at the edges and the Mini Italian Flourish was cut out in white card and inked with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink.

I then layered on the co-ordinating Italian Flourish Doily which I had folded in to a concertina and opened back up to give texture, it had also been inked in the same way. You will see I used the Trellis Die for the stems of my flowers.

I Love these Bows, a perfect accompaniment to a bouquet of flowers.

I got carried away and forgot to take some more ongoing pictures, so here are the close ups. Notice I have some closed buds as well as flowers about to open to add a realistic look to the flowers.

My Baby's Breath Flowers and Tiny Flower Kit I added a little stickles to their centres.

A couple of angled shots to give you an idea of the depth of the card.

The finished card once again.

DAISIES AND LACES

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hello friends !!!!

The festive season is in full swing in India and from now till New Year, its going to be days full of festivities and fun. I hope everyone will have a super time. Now for my card, I,m so happy that this week the challenge at the blog is Laces. Now cheery lynn has most wonderful collection of intricare lace dies and what I like best about them is that they cut like butter.
Here I have tried to give a shabby chic colour to my card. I have used the lace Francesca, one of my favourite and after distressing the edges, I sprayed it with water and crushed it a bit to give that crumpled shabby chic look. The background pattern paper has been created with multiple stamping. The flowers are made from the daisy strip and the chrysanthemum strip . All the flowers and leaves have been coloured with copic markers.

The other list of dies are given below.

Daisy strip B259
Baby's breath flower kit B264
Chrysanthemum strip B311
Dimentional large leaves#2 D136
Francesca B159
Stamps from Impression obsession and Justrite and penny black
Inks-victorian velvet
copic markers
pollens from stash

So get going with your favourite cheery lynn dies and do take part in the challenge --Laces

Hello Spring

3:30 AM 5 Comments
This week's challenge at Cheery Lynn Design's is so easy, I thought I would play along - It's Think Spring.  I am so ready for spring to really be here, I was happy to create this cheerful card.  We would love for you to play along this week as well, and have a chance to win a gift certificate to the shop.

This card has so many fun layers with Chicken Wire, Bunnies and chicks and of course flowers and doilies.  The flower was created with the Daisy Strip - which makes putting together a multi-layered flower a snap, because you are cutting all of the layers with one pass. I love this!

Thanks for stopping by - can't wait to see what you will create!

New Baby Card

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Good Morning Everyone, Donna here today to show you the Baby Card I made using the fabulous dies from Cheery Lynn Designs. Anyhow I followed this week's challenge which is "Doilies" and used one of the new Doilies released in January.

For my card I started off with a black card base, then layered it with some white card, pink card, the paper and then the Mexican Tile Pattern. I laid the Chasing Rainbows doily on top using the angel wing beneath it. I use Permanent Adhesive Spray to spray the back of the doily to adhere it to the angel wing.
I sprayed the angel wing with irridescent spray so it gives it a nice sparkly shine.
I've used a LOTV stamp which I cut out and then mounted using a action wobbler. I've colored the image using Copics.

I've used some pink twine to crisscross the card, some lace, and other assorted items behind the flower, which was made using the Daisy Strip die. The like spiky foliage under the flower is from the Wreath Floral die strip.

I've used two different sentiment dies, one under the Baby sentiment from Sentiment Set #1 and I've used another as a hinge at the side from Sentiment Set #2. I also used one of the Corner dies from the Lace Corner die set

Flower Power

3:30 AM 8 Comments
Today's card for Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog is focusing on the various flowers you can make with the variety of dies Cheery Lynn makes and sells.
I'll give a complete list of the dies used at the end of the post.
I've created a lovely floral arrangement using just a few of the dies available, as well as the Victorian Fence die, a flourish and butterfly and some cute things with wings. I've also used the Lattice Die as a background behind the image and a lovely spider web corner die. Sentiment is computer generated and the image is a Elizabeth Bell rubber stamp. Papers from Bearly Mine Designs Vintage set. Flowers and leaves have been painted with Twinkling H20's

Don't forget we have the challenge this week of "Flowers" and you could be in for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to the Cheery Lynn Designs store.

Half a Circle

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here with my shaped card
following this week's challenge.
I've made a shaped card that isn't square.

For my shape, I started off using the  Reflections Boutique Scallop die to cut the shape, I then did the same with my paper, using a different  Reflections Boutique  mini pearl circle die. I've used a new Tilda Poppy stamp, cut out with the XL Series of the Scalloped Circles, then a smaller one cut out using the Circle Classic dies. Behind the Scalloped Circle I've used the Nautical Wheeler Doily. On the back of the card sticking up is the Lace Deco border die, I've also used the Birdcage and  the mini birds from the Tiny Wings with Things die set. I've included the Victorian flourish die at the bottom of the image, with a flower made using the Daisy set, and added a small heart from the Two of Hearts set. The mini roses below the birdcage I cut a small snip out of the end of the petal to give it a different look. Notice the little bumble bee too.....that's from the Tiny Wings with Things set, and finally I've used the small fairie lace wing butterfly from the same set. All the pearls are from Viva Decor pens. A lot of dies on such a small card, but I think it creates a lovely scene.
