The Corrosive Challenge #163 - Anything Goes
It has been a busy holiday weekend here with shopping and decorating! I also got to enjoy a second Thanksgiving dinner yesterday as my mom is finally feeling better. I haven't really had time for much crafting. Too wrapped up in untangling lights only to plug them in and find half the strand dioesn't work! But when I saw this adorable snowman freebie from A Day For Daisies on Friday I knew I would have to color him up for my Corrosive Challenge project! ADFD is our sponsor after all! This challenge, the last one for 2012, is "Anything Goes". After that the Corrosive Challenge team will be taking a well-deserved and much needed hiatus for the holidays! We will be hosting a design team call in December, however, and we'll see you December 9th with all the details on that!
As for this fellow, his name is Snowball Scott and can be found HERE on ADFD's challenge blog. He is a generous freebie for their current challenge, which is simply to use this cute guy to make something! I couldn't resist! So I colored him up using Copics and Prismacolor Art Markers, and popped him onto the current sketch from The Sweet Stop (SSS186). Papers are My Mind's Eye - Christmas Traditions. I added a couple of flowers, bling, a punched snowflake, and some glitter letters to dress it up. The sentiment is punched with an oval and comes from the My Favorite Things set called Cool Yule.
Please head over to The Corrosive Challenge to see what the rest of the design team gals have created for this challenge and why not join us for your chance at winning a fabulous ADFD prize while you're there!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend! I'm off to Target shortly for more lights...

The Corrosive Challenge #162 - Flutter By
November! Can you believe it's almost Thanksgiving, followed closely by the joyous holiday season?! Around here a new month means a new sponsor at The Corrosive Challenge, and we'd like to welcome A Day For Daisies!
A Day For Daisies (also known as ADFD) provides themed categories of over 1000 digital illustrations, including fairy tales and magical mermaids, cutie kids, vintage illustrations, sentiments and lovely designs for all occasions. Be sure to check out what is available in the shop, and head over to the blog for some awesome inspiration!
Tammy at ADFD is offering a $12 gift voucher to our monthly winner! That's the equivalent of 3 images! We definitely appreciate her generosity! Each member of the team was even able to select an image to work with for the challenge! Speaking of challenge, the theme this fortnight is "Flutter By". So basically anything with wings qualifies! I chose Beautiful Pixie for my project. She is colored with Copics and cut with the Labels Twenty-One Nestabilities from Spellbinders. I added a liberal amount of Crystal Stickles to her wings! I used a lot of die cuts, and a couple of punches, on this one. The doliy is French Pastry from Cheery Lynn Designs. The swirl is a Magnolia Doohickey. The snowflake border is Frostyville from Memory Box. Both punches (snowflake and snowflake border used inside) are Martha Stewart. Papers are Winterland by Fancy Pants Designs. A few flowers, some pearls, and a Tim Holtz Christmas muse token finish off this wintry holiday card.
Please head over to The Corrosive Challenge blog to see the stunning creations the design team has to share with you! Perhaps inspiration will strike and you'll play along!
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
Markers used: Copics (E11, E21, E00, E79, E37, E23, BG10, BG13, BG15, YG91, YG93, R81).
Challenges:
- Delightful Challenges: Let It Snow (Snowflakes)
- Paper Play Challenges: #45-Snowflakes
- Flutter By Wednesdays: #213-Anything Goes (with a butterfly or fairy)
- Paper Shelter Challenges: #89-Fairies and Elves

The Corrosive Challenge #136 - With a Flourish
I know Halloween is tomorrow (and I still have cards to make), but since we're in the middle of a freak autumn Nor'easter here that is supposed to dump a foot of snow on us this weekend, I thought I'd make a wintry card for the new Corrosive Challenge. Our theme for this fortnight is "With a Flourish". That means we want to see you incorporate a flourish into your project. It can be die cut, chipboard, sticker, bling, stamp, paper, whatever. The type of flourish is yours to decide! I opted for bling since it is one of go-to embellishments. My gorgeous angel image is courtesy of one of our fabulous sponsors for this month, Karen's Doodles. Isn't she pretty? She is paired with some designer paper from Stampin' Up.
You would think being snowed in I would have gotten a lot of crafting done... Not the case. I spent a majority of yesterday on the couch watching TV or playing with the small man. It was nice to just relax and watch the snow swirl around outside. There is always something magical about the first snow fall, even if it could put a crick in our trick or treating plans for Monday! Welcome to New England! lol
I hope to get some crafting and baking done today. I also plan to make my home-made stuffed shells for dinner. It might be a bit ambitious, though, as I'm sure I will spend some serious time shoveling later today. My son has new boots and snow pants, both acquired just this past week, so we will get bundled up to brave the elements.
Be sure to stop over at The Corrosive Challenge blog to see what the rest of the design team has to show you in way of inspiration and, of course, to play along. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #54 - New
Hello my crafty friends! I am sitting on my couch and waiting for the snow to begin. They are predicting 12-18", accumulating throughout the day tomorrow. So I am anticipating a snow day! I figure I can stay up past my bedtime now because there will be time to nap in the afternoon! I am stocked up on essentials (I stopped for coffee and adhesive refills on the way home!) so I am ready for the white stuff! The impending wintry weather was my inspiration for the above card. My goal was to incorporate all of the current Sassy Studio Design challenges, including DTBST and sponsorships, in one creation. I also manage to sneak the Mojo Monday sketch in there (though I flipped it)!
I used a SSD digital image called First Snow as my focal point. She is an older image, but new to me as I won her as part of my prize for being the winner of their DTBST Challenge #51 . I have more Sassy news to share as well, but that will have to wait for just a bit. What I do want to do is remind you about their new release this weekend! January 15th will see some fabulous and fun new images from the talented Lindsay! Be sure to check out their blog Saturday morning for details. I may even have a sneaky peeky for you later this week if all goes well...
The challenges I entered this card into were as follows:
~ Sassy Studio Designs - Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #54 - New

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #51 - Snow
Merry Christmas! Can you believe it is only 3 days away?!?! Where has this month gone? Never mind that... Where has this YEAR gone? lol The countdown is on and there is so much left to be done so this is going to be a brief post. Not only do I have more cards to make and goodies to bake, but I have a sick baby to take care of it. It's just a cold, but I have been home from work with Kayne the past two days so that we don't pass it on to the other day care kids. He has been super snuggly, and I find myself feeling guilty for enjoying it since he doesn't feel good. Still, it is nice to know that I am his source of comfort. The best present of all that I could receive is time with him and I'll take it however it comes! He is finally asleep in his crib so I am going to try to get some of my To Do list taken care of.
It has been a while since I blogged, even longer since I participated in a Sassy Studio Designs challenge, but I was excited to treat myself to one of their new holiday images this week. They held their design team call and even though it is a crazy busy time of the year, I made sure I got my submissions in by the deadline. I enjoyed my guest spot earlier this year and would love to be chosen. I am up against some talented ladies, though, so we will see. This card, using their Frostina image, was one of my entries and it also fits the criteria for this week's Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge, which has a snow theme. If you want to play along you still have a few hours to post your creation.
I am looking forward to time with friends and family this weekend! My son may be too young still to truly be excited about Christmas, but nevertheless I am looking forward to the delights of Christmas morning with him! I send warm holiday wishes to you and yours and hope that Santa is good to everyone! ;)
