Game On!

Hi!  This has been one of those weeks!  I've felt exhausted all week and every time I even thought about crafting I found myself on the couch in front of the TV.  But now the crunch is on and I have lots to do and little time to do it.  So before I go making new cards, I thought I should first blog one that was already finished - a birthday card for one of my co-workers.  I've actually known him since junior high school!  Funny, right?  Anyway, he's a hockey player so I selected Anime Hockey from KennyK to color up.  The image is colored with Copics and fussy cut.  Masculine cards are always tricky for me...  And I tend not to embellish them much since my go to items are usually flowers and bling.  Here I added just a Tim Holtz metal corner.  The image is popped up with foam dots on top of the Star Five Nestabilities (Spellbinders).  I used a sentiment from a Stampin' Up set called Sporting and punched it out with one of the SU circle punches.  A Martha Stewart border punch created the stars border.  Papers are Champs by Me & My Big Ideas.  The sketch I found over at Crafting When We Can (#68).

Hopefully my mojo returns tonight so I can crank out at least a card or two!  Hope you have something fabulous planned for your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Simply B Stamps 13 Days of Halloween: Day 1

Over at Simply B(etty) Stamps it's all about Halloween year round!  But during the month of October the fun really begins!  You already saw the fab goodies I received as part of their Secret Pumpkin Exchange.  Now are you ready for the 13 Days of Halloween?  That's right - 13 Halloween themed challenges over at Simply Challenged Challenges designed to keep you crafting all month long!  There is a prize for each challenge, but the grand prize for one lucky crafter who participates in all 13 challenges is a spot on the SBS Simply Challenged design team for 2013!  You don't need to use a SBS image to play, but you do to be eligible for prizes.

The challenge for Day 1 is Trick or Treat for a Tot.  Betty and the DT ladies want to see Halloween projects created for a child.  It can be anything - a treat holder, a layout, a card - as long as it's for a wee one.  I decided it was a good time to make a Halloween/birthday card for my friend's son.  He'll be 5, and I think he'll really enjoy this cute image of Batty Jude from the 2012 Teen Scene Halloween collection!  Jude is colored with Copics, fussy cut, and popped up with foam squares.  The sketch is from Crafting When We Can (#28).  Papers are leftover from last year's DCWV Midnight Spell stack.  For the corner element I used the Nested Bat Nestabilities from Spellbinders.  I also used the Pumpkin Circles Nestabilities.  I added a few black pearls and a fun sentiment from Studio G.

I can't wait to see what the theme for Day 2 is!  I love Halloween!  My decorations are already up and costumes are being planned and created!  I love to bake too so I'm planning "bloody" cupcakes and creepy finger cookies along with my homemade pumpkin bread!  Yum!

Thanks for visiting!  I'm off to get my small man ready for bed and then I have more crafting to do.  Have a fabulous evening!
