Love Challenge at Craftaholics R Us

Hello Everyone,
Welcome back. It has been a busy week around here, but it seems no matter how much you do there is always more. My "to-do" list continues to grow, but checking off items gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Today's goal is to get at least 50% of it completed.

The challenge at Craftaholics R Us began yesterday. I prefer not to double post if I don't have to. Since I didn't have anything else scheduled it worked out nicely. You still have plenty of time to join. Let's get crafty!

This Week's Challenge...
~ Love You Cards ~

Here is my Design Team project...
When I think of love, the color red comes to mind first. I pulled out two Christmas paper stacks and selected a few of the red and white sheets. You can't even tell the papers are from the holidays.

I used the following sketch from Cheerful Sketches Challenge Blog.

The stamped sheep is by MFT ~ Ewe Are the Best set. I used a Chameleon marker to color the heart, the sheep's face, and his feet.

The black stitched circle and the word love are cut from a black glitter foam sheet. Even though the material is slightly thicker than cardstock, it still cut in the Cuttlebug without difficulty.
Hope you will join us at Craftaholics R Us this week for our "Love You Cardschallenge. Be sure to check out the other crafty creations.

February Sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas

Hello Diva Fans,

Today I am sharing the new challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I hope you will join us this week since you any theme you want as long as it includes a die cut.

This Week's Challenge...
~ February's Sketch ~

Here is my Design Team project...
Valentine's Day is approaching quickly.

I cut the elephants from SVG Cutting Files on my Cameo. The stitched rectangles were created using a MFT die and the sentiment is part of a stamp by Whimsical Designs.

Since I am now on the Eyelet Outlet and Brads Design Team I added one of their products. Not only do they carry brads, but they have a variety of other embellishments too. I used theses sticky back enamel hearts (they come in four different shades).
Other Materials:
grey and black card stock
My Mind's Eye pattern paper
VersaFine Onyx Black ink

Other Challenges:

Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "February's Sketchchallenge. Be sure to check out the other design team interpretation.

Do You Love Trying New Products?

Happy Friday!
Although it is Friday the 13th and a full moon, today is going to be fabulous. It's a three day weekend, hubby said he wants to watch football Saturday and Sunday (which means crafting time), and we are going to Jacksonville on Monday to see my daughter.  Like I said, it's going to be a terrific day.

The other day I pulled out my new Ken Oliver Color Burst powders. I found a few You Tube videos to watch about the product. The first one by Ken's Kreations had six different techniques. The second one was by Sparkle N Sprinkle. I chose only one color to begin with because I had Valentine's Day on my mind...Alizarin Crimson.

First, I used MFT dies from Blueprints 20 to cut the background mats. I used watercolor paper and spritzed it with water using a Tim Holtz mister. I sprinkled a few drops of Color Burst powder and spread it around with an acrylic block. Warning: this can be messy and can discolor your fingers.

These are my new MFT Pierced Hearts. I got them last week during a Blitz Wednesday sale. Love to save so I can get more! I cut white foam instead of card stock to add dimension. Then I used clear  glitter Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to each heart. The word love came from a crafty friend, Karen at Little Scrap Pieces ...Thank you Karen!

A big black bow to finish it off.
Hope you are not too superstitious and can enjoy your Friday!

This is Huge! Miss Kate Cuttables Daily Post

Hello Everyone!

Here is my Design Team project...
An adorable elephant that has lots of love! I created the background with Tim Holtz distress inks...chipped sapphire. Then I used a MFT stamp (distressed patterns) to add the splattered dots in mustard seed.

This stamp is from an old set by My Pink Stamper, but it was perfect for this elephant.

Yellow skittles by Carri at DoubleClick.

Inside sentiment is by Jaded Blossom ~ Valentine Treats stamp set.

Hope you are almost ready for Valentine's Day! Miss Kate Cuttables has lots of files to choose from if you need to make more projects to show your love!

This Jar is Filled with Love

Hello Crafty Friends,
Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by!  It's Wednesday, which means it's time for the DoubleClick Skittles Challenge.

This Week's Challenge...
Valentine/Heart

Here is my Design Team project...
I bought this jar stamp at Michaels a few weeks ago and I just finally used it. I really like it, but I wish it had a die to match (would be so much easier). I had to fussy cut it, but I think the edges look okay. The scalloped background is from My Favorite Things ~ Blueprint 20.

I used sparkle red skittles in the lower left corner. The hearts were cut from a Martha Stewart punch.

Although this picture is a little brighter than I would have liked, it captures the specks of glitter on the lid. I used a Wink of Stella brush (silver) to add some sparkle.
Now, I hope you will  join us this week for the "Valentine/Heart" challenge at DoubleClick Skittles. Go share some love with the other Design Team members!

Thanks again for stopping by!

Sending You Some Love

Hello!

This week sure has been hectic... much more than usual.  One of my fellow 5th grade teachers had an emergency and had to be out for the entire week, so I have been pitching in and doing a little more than usual. We have a great team and helping each other is what we do! I sure will be glad when my teammate can come back , but until then I need to share some love!

What better way to send some love than with a mailbox (actually, I have a pair)! How else is it going to be delivered?!?

The mailbox on the left is by KaDoodle Bug and I made it into a shape card. The one on the right is from SVG Cutting Files.

The stamped sentiment on the inside is by Scrappy Moms Stamps ~ With All My Heart set. The stamped sentiment on the band is by Jaded Blossom ~ Valentine Treats set.

Doesn't this set put a smile on your face?!?! Who are you going to send a Valentine to?
Looking for a challenge to enter? How about DoubleClick Skittles? It is Anything Goes this week! You can create and share anything...how fun!

Thanks for stopping by!
Can't wait to see what you are making!

Oink! Oink! It's Amore!

Hello and Happy Sunday!

Today I am sharing a Valentine card I made. This cute Valentine pig is by Miss Kate Cuttables. I use my Cameo to cut all the layered pieces. There are 10 other animals in this series if you like this one.

All the layers line up nicely and adhere easily. I inked all the edges with a dark pink ink to make it pop a bit more. My pig is also mounted on foam dots to add dimension.

The tab is from MFT Blueprints #15 and the stamped sentiment is an oldie from K Andrews. A little twine and a few raspberry enamel dots are in the corners.

The stamped sentiment on the inside is by Jaded Blossom ~ Valentine Treats set.
Challenges:

Hope you have a great day. Be warm and safe! I am hoping to get a few projects completed and then I have a mountain of notebooks to grade.

Have You Been Struck By Love?

Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome back to Carson's Creations and thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate you visiting and seeing what is new.

We went to Animal Kingdom for a few hours yesterday morning and really enjoyed seeing all the animals on the safari tour. Then my daughter and I had to run a couple errands once we returned to town. Our shopping trip was very productive...we found some Webkinz stuffed animals at Michaels for her HOSA Cancer Kits (she is filling bags for Shands pediatric oncology unit as a Senior project) for a really good deal ($1.50 each, so we bought 20). And, I finally found another Tim Holtz ink case (it was sold out in numerous stores). After that trip...I really was in a loving mood!

I wanted to use my Tim Holtz distress inks (dusty concord, seedless preserves, milled lavender, and picked raspberry) and this week's sketch from My Favorite Things. The watercolor paper was cut with Blueprint 13 to get the stitched edge.

Here is this week's sketch...

I used my Cuttlebug (sometimes this is so much easier than using an electronic die-cutting machine!) to cut the banner from Blueprint 12, had a felt heart in my stash, and the Grape Fizz twine is by Trendy Twine. I used double-sided tape on the backside of the heart so the twine would stay in place. When I flipped it over it looked like a flower rather than a random swirl.

I used Recollections raspberry tinsel embossing powder (picked it up at Michaels during our shopping trip ~ 50% off) for the sentiment. The sentiment is from MFT stamp set called Right on Target (part of the bundle I bought after returning a Christmas present).

I added raspberry skittles by Carri at DoubleClick in the lower right corner.

Tweet! Tweet! Anything Goes with This Bird!

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back and thanks for stopping by on this terrific Tuesday.  Today I am sharing the new challenges at both Die Cuttin' Divas and Miss Kate Cuttables. Hope you will join us this week for both challenges!

This Week's Challenges are...

Here is my Design Team project for both challenges...
A lovely bird card that could be for Valentines or maybe an anniversary.

I used the Winter Bird file from Miss Kate Cuttables. The wing is mounted on a pop dot to add some dimension. Instead of the snowflakes that come with the file, I used hearts. I distressed all the paper edges with the Zutter DIA.

I used two different stamps to create the banner. The first half is by Whimsical Designs ~ With Love set. The second half is by Craftin Desert Diva ~ Simply Said set.

Brown crinkle ribbon and a country heart tie all the colors together.

Be sure to stop by Miss Kate Cuttables for the free file of the day!
Hope you will join us at Die Cuttin' Divas this week for our "Use a Birdchallenge and Miss Kate Cuttables for "Anything Goes". The other design team members did a fantastic job with this one. Be sure to check out ALL the variety!

Thanks for stopping by!
