This OLD MAN...........

This "OLD MAN"
he played six, he played knick knack with some stix
with a Knick Knack paddy wack
give the dog a bone
this OLD MAN came rolling ("stumbling") home

Does anyone else remember that or did I just show my age?

MOXIE FAB is hosting a "Stamping with Markers Challenge" and I am hoping to WIN the new "E" set of Copics. Want to play along? You have until March 16

This old man from "You Know You're Old When" by Gina K Designs is one of the funnest stamp sets to color with my Copic Markers. I have so much fun shading, highlighting and making their wrinkles look as realistic as possible.

I wish I had taken a photo of the fun beer assortment that I put together for this gift; they had some fun labels. I'm not a beer drinker but my recipient loves Beer so I hope this is the perfect gift

CHALLENGES I AM ENTERING
Moxie Fab World: Stamping with Markers Challenge
One Stitch at a Time: Anything but Square
Paper Sundaes: Masculine Colors (does not have to be masculine)

....................Supplies I used....................
Stamps: Gina K (you know your old when, beautiful backgrounds by Nina Brackett)

Moxie Fab Jewel Tones Challenge

MOXIE FAB WORLD

is celebrating Card Maker's Week
" JEWEL TONES COLOR CHALLENGE "

Sugar Cookie, Sunshine, Pansy, and Blue Calypso
The challenge is to use only these colors in a New Project

COMPLETE DETAILS
-----> HERE <-----

I have no clue why I cannot seem to take a decent photo to save my life!! I actually held my cardstocks up to this computer monitor before I began to verify that my colors matched! They DO, however, my photos LIE!!!

Here is a close up of the clouds I created out of FOAM. I got the idea to cut them out using the Spellbinders Scalloped Oval Dies from Jacilynn. I then embossed them with one of the Stampin Up embossing folders. Pretty cool huh? The large cloud is popped up on foam squares. My SUN was created using a Spellbinders "Lacey Circle" Die

How PERFECT was this Gina K "Friends" Sentiment for the inside of my card?

CHALLENGES I USED:
Moxie Fab: Jewel Tone Color Challenge
Crafty Creations: Heat It Up (I'm thinking warm sunny thoughts)

.................Supplies I used.................
Stamps: Paper Trey Ink (scattered showers ), Gina K Designs (friends sentiment stamp set)
Ink: Momento (tuxedo black)
Cardstock: Stampin Up (pacific point, elegant eggplant, very vanilla, so saffron)
Tools: Stampin Up (big label die, Ttxture plates backgrounds 1), Spellbinders (lacey circles, lg oval scallops, lg scallops squares)
Misc: Ribbons from my stash

Don't Open 'til Dec. 25

Popping in with another fun project that I created using the new stamp set

"" WINTER MITTENS ""

by
Nina Brackett

available at

Gina K Designs

I used a total of 5 different stamps to create this card

Large and Small Snowflakes were stamped using white ink onto the front & back of my Kraft cardstock, Something Special Sentiment stamped in real red onto a scalloped tag, the Oval Snowflake text box was stamped onto white cardstock and cut out using an oval die. I used a red Copic Marker to put a tiny red dot onto each scallop. I then stamped the Do Not Open Until Dec. 25 Sentiment inside the text box

Can you tell that the red package and the Something Special Tag are both 3 dimensional?
They were mounted using thick foam squares

Here is a closer look at the tiny Gift Bow that I created
(so simple that I will never again purchase a flimsy store bought bow)

CHALLENGES I USED:
Crazy 4 Challenges: Christmas
Fresh Brewed Challenge: 2 or more Patterned Papers
Cute Card Thursday: Anything Goes
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday: Just Do It = Christmas Cards
Mark's Finest Papers: Use Snowflakes
Sweet Stampin: Snowflakes
Totally Gorjuss: Traditional Christmas Colors

Now this is "FUSSY & FANCY"

This week's Fussy & Fancy challenge is a bit of a Recipe. We're looking for the 3 S's, (get your head outta the gutter), we are looking for
"" STITCHING, SPARKLE & SCALLOPS ""
(click on blinkie for complete challenge details)

WHEW, where do I even begin on this project?????? Maybe some CLOSE UP's ???

HERE you can see all 3 S's and my idea of "STITCHING"...... In my world the thread qualifies as "Stitching". Keep in mind that I am still sitting in an empty house so I've improvised.

The Fan images were FREEBIES from "Vintage Image Crafts" (get ready for MORE FREEBIES from them as we gear up for their next Challenge). I printed them out and then did some serious distressing. That beautiful Scallop Stamp if one of the Vintage Image Background stamps that Nina Brackett designed and is sold HERE at Gina K Designs

Remember my lifetime supply of homemade cotton Ribbon? I've wrapped some around one of my Antique, Italian Spools. Here is a photo of the lot I purchased at the Antique market in Sicily. Aren't they to die for?
Believe it or not, I even saved some room on the inside to write my own message if I ever decide that I could part with this. Finally an image to show that if placed in a padded envelope, it could easily be mailed.
CHALLENGES I USED:
Fussy & Fancy: Scallops, Sparkle & Stitches
Sew Many Challenges: Anything Goes

...............Supplies I used...............
Stamps: Gina K (Vintage backgrounds)
Images: Vintage Image Crafts (fan images), random girl image from internet

University of "Miss U Rock"

What do you think? I did create these as a second entry into
Gina K's Movie Inspiration Challenge
but I didn't actually use them as an entry.
"FAME
or
"SCHOOL OF ROCK"
O Well, they were super fun to create and YES THIS IS MY IDEA OF ASSEMBLY LINE creations !!!! For the life of me, I cannot bring myself to create exact replicas. My brain is switching channels way to quickly. I'm surprised I get anything accomplished.

Here is how this project started tuning in to "Channel #1"
Then I switched to "Channel #2"

Finally, "Channel #3" I love that STAR, I created a large sheet of the white polka dots stamped on Raspberry Fizz.

Here is a photo of the "previous Life of my "vintage" tag" along with
"I'M TOO INPATIENT to STAMP NEATLY"
(hence the cover up) I am totally addicted to the new "Vintage Background" stamps. I believe that I have reached for them in every single project since they arrived. Don't you just LOVE VERSATILITY?
CHALLENGES I USED:
Gina K Designs: Movie Inspiration
Cupcake Craft Challenge: Buttons (I used 3 on one of my cards)
Cute Card Thursday: Someone Special (created for my son's teachers)

Inspired by Driving Miss Daisy

Gina K Designs announced a very fun challenge today and a chance at being the "Center Stage Spotlight Designer" for May. The challenge is to choose your favorite movie and create a project using one of the brand new April stamp sets that is inspired by your movie choice.

WOW, I couldn't have picked a better opportunity to show off Nina's Brackett's "Vintage Background" stamp set and this Funny old lady zoomin' around in her VW bug has always reminded me of the movie "Driving Miss Daisy".

The second I heard about this challenge, I visualized exactly how I was going to use the "Vintage Background" stamps to create my scene. As you can see, I get a little zealous when I start creating my own patterned paper, which seem to make their way inside the card and onto the envelope. Absolutely perfect for ME, who does not ordinarily complete my cards. I can proudly say that this one is even stamped on the back.
Can you count how many different stamps I used on the front? SIX
(4 from Vintage Backgrounds (polka dots, tire tracks, small script, little leafs) (2 from You Know Your Old When (old lady & sentiment)

Take a peek at the inside "Sentiment".....
Challenges I used:
Gina K: Movie Inspiration
The Pink Elephant: Yellow, Designer Paper & Buttons (I hope they don't mind that I created my own "Designer Paper")
Simple Doodles: Your On My Mind (My mother-in-law was on my mind since her birthday is coming up)

.............Supplies I used................
Stamps: Gina K Designs (Vintage Backgrounds, You Know Your Old When)
Card Stock: Gina K Designs (Autumn pack: fresh asparagus, chocolate brown, sweet corn), Stampin Up (confetti naturals, yellow label was cut in 1/2 from designer paper pack)
Ink: Copic Markers, Stampin Up (close to cocoa, baja breeze, so saffron, rock, always artichoke, grey), Momento (tuxedo black)

May Day Basket

Challenge #10 "BASKETS"

Creating little containers, gifts and altering items are some of my VERY favorite projects to create which is why I have been in "CREATIVE HEAVEN" this week. (I have a wooden Vintage box posted below this) Love challenges that really cause us to think "outside the box" and break out of a creative rut. Check out FUSSY & FANCY for complete details

20% off of Everything
(hurry sale ends Sunday, May 9)

This basket was created by using the large Spellbinders Scalloped Squares. I then dry embossed each square. Here is a closeup of the "Crafty Secrets, Bouquet of Joy " image that I colored with Copic Markers. I can't get enough of the new "Vintage Background" (GinaK by NinaB) stamps either. How beautiful is that lacey/eyelet stamp in white ink on always artichoke cardstock?
Closeup of the flowers & Ribbons that I attached at the base of each handle. The Handle is attached with a large brad so it moves back and forth.

Top view to show that I got a little carried away and decided that this would make a wonderful "Teacher's Appreciation" or "Mother's Day" gift so I completed the basket by creating
3"x 3" gift cards.

And Finally a peek at some of the little cards:

CHALLENGES I USED:
Fussy & Fancy: Baskets
Creative Card Crew: April showers bring May Flowers
The Pink Elephant: Mom

KL Stampin N Scrappin: Inside Out (I think creating the little cards for the inside of my basket qualifies???)

Grannies Gone Wild

Just another Manic Monday so I thought I would spice it up a bit........... Far be it for me to be naive, however, I thought this "tongue in cheek" sentiment from My Favorite Things, was talking about a DANCE POLE..!!!! My husbands seems to think otherwise (surely you can figure out what he was telling me that it was insinuating?) I would be interested to hear your thoughts and help us settle this little debate..............

Is that Granny not the funniest? I just love this image by Gina K Designs (You know your old when) and I have not a clue as to why I have not played around more with this funny images. There is also an old man with bushy eyebrows, some false teeth, Fun Stuff... The DP is just scraps that I found in my stash. I heat embossed the sentiment to give it some dimension and shine. The black border was punched using a Martha Stewart edge punch. Which brings me to:

After participating in Laura Frederickson's blog celebration I headed over to Julie Koeber's blog and decided to play along with her "Blogebration" (I just made that up, pretty cute huh). Just like Laura's challenge, Julie is also asking for us to find one of her projects and case it. Afterwards you load it up to SCS using CEL300J as your key word then go back to her blog post (HERE) and link it up using the Mr. Linky Gadget so that you can be entered to WIN a prize.......... So what that I never win, It is the thrill of a little friendly challenge and the "Chance to win" that gets my MOJO pumping.

So there are two great Divas with challenges and opportunities to win some goodies. Don't forget about Jen Tapler who is celebrating her Blogoversary with a large amount of goodies to be had by one lucky participant.

But wait that's NOT ALL....... The Ladies with Attitude "Twisted Thursday" challenge is still going. It would thrill my heart if you were to come out and play with us.
