My new favorite. It looks even better hanging from my neck.

These three friends have this etsy shop called the r house couture where they make fantastic necklaces and other jewels. Soon they will also have onesies and t-shirts that have great sayings like "I (heart) adoption". You should check out their little business. Leisha brought my necklace to me when we hung out last week. I fell in love instantly.

I met Leisha through blogging. She was kind enough to help out this poor uncreative blogger (me) when I posted this. Then we met irl at this. Now we are good friends and our kids adore each other. We went, with our families, to Hee-Haw Farm on Monday and had a very dirty - I mean good time. We can talk and laugh for hours. She is uber-creative and talented - insert my jealous face. Love her!

So there is, yet again, another reason for blogging. You never know what friends you will meet out there is cyber-land.

Borrowed Blog

My blogging brain has been on vacation, well actually my whole brain. I have not been able to piece together enough coherent thoughts to form a blog post. So, I have been searching for inspiration. My friend did not let me down. Here are some thoughts from Leisha:

"We are often asked where we are in the adoption process (which is definitely a process) but in all honesty, we are always in the process. If not officially approved and "waiting" we are always hoping and praying that our children will find their way to our family. That their birth mothers will have the strength and courage to first choose life and then choose adoption. That our family and friends all know that we are always open to adoption and that they will be adoption advocates. Not just for us, but for all of the families hoping to adopt and for all of those who find themselves or someone they love in a situation with an unplanned pregnancy.

We want adoption to be a
positive option.

Our adoption journey is just that a journey, one that we are always walking. One that we are always on. And we will be until we feel like our family is complete. We will constantly be hoping, dreaming, wishing and praying for
another miracle."

Thanks for saying it for me, Leisha.

I made it . . .

After driving for two hours in a snowstorm (is it January?) I finally made it to Good Things Utah. The show started a 10:00 and we were supposed to be in our seats by 9:30. I walked in at 10:02, remember people, two hours of drive time. I was afraid they wouldn't let me in. But with a few batted eyelashes and some major charm, the lady was smitten and let me pass. It was great. It would have been nice if the segment was longer than 2 minutes, but Mrs. R and Myra did a great job and the adoption word got out. I'm glad I went - snow, traffic and all. I had fun sitting in the crowd expressing the appropriate claps and woos.

I love adoption - just in case I haven't made it clear. I love the people I find through adoption. I got to meet this fun lady, a blogger/adoption friend/blog fixer, in person today. I also met this cute girl for the first time and this great lady, whose blog I have loved for a long time. They were so nice, they invited me to go to a yummy lunch at Five Guys - ever heard of it? Fabulous burgers and fries cut from Idaho Potatoes. It's tough to beat a tater from the gem state. So there I was, at lunch with a group of ladies I just met, and I couldn't have had a better time. I just might have to make a trip a up north and crash their craft night some day :)
Thanks girls! It was a great day!

HELP...

OK, I am breaking down and asking all of you blogger experts for much needed help. I am trying to create an adoption blog - one that birth parents can go to and find out all about my crazy little family. I thought I had this blog thing down, but I am struggling. I am on my knees begging for someone to make this easier on me. I have many questions. Questions like - How do I make my posts have no date or time? I know how to change it, but I can't get rid of it. Can I arrange the order that my posts show up on my page or is it always in chronological order? I know these things can be done, because I have seen other adoption blogs with exactly what I would like - I just can't do it. Please I need a sensei, an expert, or just someone out there that is smarter than me (that would be most of you). I know it is probably all very simple and I am just not looking in the right place, but I am frustrated and tired and sick of looking at my computer screen.

Oh yeah - and if any of you out there have any good ideas of fun things I can put on this blog that would help show prospective birth parents who we are as a family. I am open to suggestions!
