I love love love these ladies. Love. They are the best friends a girl could ask for. They each have qualities I strive to have. They each have taught me something (many things) that has enriched my life.
And they will forever be in my heart.
Tonight we said 'see ya later' to our dear friend Jeni. She is moving onto another fun adventure with her little family...clear across the country to DC. I am so sad (and shed many tears) that she's moving, but seriously so excited for her...and a little jealous of this fun adventure :)
This is awful picture quality...
...the mama will play!
Since Ava's school doesn't start until after Labor Day, she was able to go to a little birthday party today. So I just had Lia with me. And what would you do with only one kid and a couple of hours?
Shop...right?
To bad Lia cried the entire time. Only having one kids with you is supposed to be easier right?
Since Lia's hair is getting longer, she usually wakes up looking like this:
The first couple of days after school had started, I needed to run errands. By Wednesday Ava had had it with the errands and asked:
"can we have a fun day today?"
Such a sweetie.
So we went to get frozen yogurt, and that counts as a fun day :)
Look how cute Ava's hair is...I found the idea on Pinterest.
...our cereal boxes never looked like this:
Awesome.
The start of school, and the end of summer, is turning out to be a sad time for my kids and me. I think we were all in denial that today we had to get up and get ready for the day. Boo.
But the day has come, and now he's off to school...with the big kids.
We've had lots of talks about making good choices, hangin with good friends, being a good example, and being kind to others. And I have no doubt that Max will do all of those things. He's just a good kid.
Sportin a new lunch box!
Dave stayed home in the morning, because our Lia is sleeping until 9:00 AM these days and I didn't want to wake her (she didn't know we were now on a new schedule). Plus, I wanted to take Max to school alone so I could give him all the attention he needed.
Oh, and I wanted to take pictures :)
On the way to school he said:
"mom, I'm a little excited and a little scared." So sweet. I remember feeling that way when school was starting.
Seeing familiar faces always helps calm the nerves.
I held it together all morning. Trying to put on a brave face. And was pretty proud of myself. Then the girls and I were on our way into the gym and Ava said:
"the gym is no fun without a brother"...
Oh boy, the tears started flowing then. I tried holding off, so Ava wouldn't see me crying and wonder why. Then on the elliptical, texting Davey to tell him what happened, and crying my eye's out.
We missed him all day. We talked about him all day.
I prayed for him all day.
And we were early to pick him up.
Ava couldn't wait to see her best buddy!
And the smiles told us, today had been a GREAT day!
Lia too was SO excited to see Max.
{melt my heart}
