I'm pretty damn sure that I was English in a past life (or maybe several) because ever since I was a kid (about 10 yrs old) I've been obsessed with all things British! I remember as a kid, asking my mom to pretty pleeeease take me to England! Most kids probably want to go to Hawaii or Disney, not me - I wanted to go to England!

And my obsession continues well into adulthood. Just ask Vanessa - I'm sure I drive her nuts sometimes with my Delicast UK radio *hehe*

Last year, my hubbs and I went to the UK for our 5th anniversary and after our trip, I can honestly say that if I could pack up my stuff and move there {like right now}, I would! I'm even MORE of a nutjob now that I know what a fascinating city London really is *sighhhh*

Aren't they just adorable?! Anyone who knows me knows about my little obsession with owls so I think I've just made it easier for my friends to get me something cute and inexpensive for my birthday!! Woot Woot! (or should I say - Hoot Hoot!)

Juju from Tales of Whimsy {she pretty much rocks!} showed us this AWESOME cover for the MacBook. I loveddd it so much that I wanted to share it with all our followers too!

Isn't it just....well, AWESOME?!

I don't have a Mac (I'm actually more of a PC girl), but if I did...you know that this would be on my birthday list. Vane and I both have Dell Notebooks and although they have some pretty nifty covers, nothing nearly as bad-ass as this one. You better bet your britches that I'll be keeping an eye out though ;o)

MY MOM ROCKS!

Let me explain ... there are MANY reasons why, but the main reason for writing it on this post is because, as you know, my iHeart for last week was an AMAZING necklace I found over on Etsy created by the uber talented Michelle of RecycledRings. Well, my amazing mom saw my post, contacted Michelle, and actually bought me the necklace!!!!!!! She's so cute, she bought it for my birthday (April 13) but couldn't wait so she gave it to me tonight!! Right on time for my iHeart Thursday, lol.

I took pictures of it in the box so you all can see how cute Michelle put it together, pink paper and all! She also put the necklace in a super cute black and white box and wrote a note to my mother. Don't you just love personal touches like that?!

So Wednesday has become one of my very favorite days of the week. Why?
Because it's our Wicked Wednesday Night Ritual {this is actually how we got the name for our post}. It is the night when I get together with my book soulmate and a few other friends, go to Barnes & Noble until they kick us out and chat it up about books and more over our favorite Starbucks beverage {which happens to be Venti Iced Black Tea with 7 pumps of Classic, now that's a mouthful! haha}

I found this beauty over on one of my favorite sites, Etsy. It's called Steampunk Antiqued Charm Necklace with Bourbon, Hearts, Mirrors, and Keys. (Now THERE'S a mouthful! lol) It's a shame I can't dish out a mere $55 right now. The necklace is sooooo worth it!

Not only do I love office supplies in general - I have about 10,000 pens, every color Post-It under the sun, and half a dozen journals & planners - but slap some damask on there and I'm one happy girl!

On Wednesday, I posted the ever so delicious & tantalizing new cover art for LOTU: Darkest Passion (Aeron's story). Well yesterday, Gena revealed the cover art for LOTU: Darkest Lie (Gideon's story). Unfortunately, he's not rockin' the blue hair that he does in the book but those muscles seem like a fair trade ;o)

I decided to make this my iHeart post because I truly iHeart these covers! They are to sigh for!

This weeks iHeart for me is my lovely NyQuil bottle. I have a terrible cold and this beautiful little nugget takes away all the sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, fever, so that I can get my "best-sleep-you-ever-got-with-a-cold".

I just HEART everything about this picture! There is something so romantic about it ♥

Old books are a thing of beauty for me. I even love that old musty smell from paper that's been aged for years & years. They are left-over pieces of a time where books were more valuable and admired than they are today.

I even love the bookmarks...how feminine & cute are they?!

I look at this picture and I can see myself sitting in a beautiful parlor, sipping tea with my closest friends while we read aloud.

Ok, so maybe this just goes to show that I really was born in the wrong time...lol!

These are the Staedtler® Triplus Fineliner Porous Point Pens, 0.3 mm, Fine Point, Gray Barrel, Assorted Ink, Pack Of 20. I bought them at Office Depot for $14.00. It may sound like a lot to some folks but trust me, $14 on a beautiful assortment of pens is NOTHING for me! I carry these pens with me EVERYWHERE I go, you just never know when you may need them. I ♥ writing in different colors and making little swirly's on everything. It just makes a page that much cuter, don't ya think?

iHeart Thursday 1.21.10

This is my idea of a PERFECT DAY!

I love everything about rain...the smell, the sound.
It makes me feel so peaceful!

Like me, my mom loves the rain. When I was a kid, we would open the front door of our house and just sit there curled up in a blanket together and we'd talk while we watched it rain. I know it sounds totally cheesy, but I promise it's true! {hehe}

And really, what is better than enjoying the sound of the rain slapping against your window while sipping a cup of tea and surrounded by a pile of books?
Nothing!

I truly believe that it's the simplest and quietest moments in life that are the most pleasant!

PS: Dangit, now I wish it was raining and I was home! Oh well...

I love them! I think they're the cutest! Whenever I see anything with owls I HAVE to have it!

When I get old, instead of being the "crazy cat lady", I think I'm going to be the "crazy owl lady". That's fine by me =)

I live in a 2-story house and never really thought about the empty space under the stairs. It's there, it's empty, oh well...

But someone, someone incredibly smart, decided to use their empty space for something truly ingenius!

Really, how awesome is that?!
Now if I an only convince my husband to let me cut out the wall by the stairs and add shelves.

iHeart [Music] Monday 11.23.09

Unfortunately, we were both having computer issues yesterday and weren't able to post this weeks "iHeart Monday" so here it is...

This week I am ♥ing Kings of Leon! I cannot stop obsessing over them! I have been listening to them for the past couple of months, but lately I've been stuck on one song in particular. I already went through the "Use Somebody" stage...and then came the "Sex on Fire" stage. Now, I'm on the "I ♥ 'King of the Rodeo' " stage! I absolutely ♥ that song! I play it over... and over...and over again. I love their quirky sound!

While on the topic of great music discoveries, I (Isalys) and ♥ing Phoenix! I heard them perform their latest single "Lisztomania" on SNL a while back and developed a quick crush on them! I quickly downloaded a bunch of their songs onto my iPod and have been enjoying them ever since...quite loudly I might add ;-)

♥ We Heart Book Fairs ♥

This past Sunday ( Nov 15th) concluded the 26th Annual Miami Book Fair in Downtown Miami. The Miami Book Fair is an 8-day literary party :) There is food, music and best of all books - lots & lots of books!! Yayyy...

During Street Fair weekend which was 11/13 - 11/15, more than 250 publishers and booksellers exhibit and sell books, with special features like the antiquarians, who showcase signed first editions, original manuscripts and other collectibles.

The first Miami Book Fair International, founded by Miami-Dade College and community partners, took place in 1984. Since then it has been recognized as the nation’s finest literary festival. In 2001, the Fair became part of the Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami-Dade College, a cultural and academic initiative that promotes the advancement and appreciation of literature throughout the year.
