VENUSIANS / YMIR

 
Primitive but not-aggressive unless provoked, the Ymirs are oviparous green skinned two meters tall  reptilian scaly bipeds with a long forked tail and a sagittal crest that extend into a long ridge running from the top heir head to their tail. They have a humanoid torso. Both their arms ans feet are clawed and three-fingered. Their lower legs are turned backward and their face has vaguely simian features, with jowls hanging from their cheaks. They have large nostrils, pointed ears and a pair of eyes surrounded by protective ridges. They have no heart or lungs but a "network of small tubes throughout (their) entire body" and breathes through 'fiberous filtering elements" that protects it from airborne poisons. They breathe sulfur. Under otherworldly conditions, Ymirs are known to be able to grow to much exotic proportions than their native one. On Earth, for instance, they have been known to grow up to 7 meters.

MARTIANS / IT THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE


Planet of origin: Mars
This martian creature is a savage and possibly non-sentient humanoid reptilian species which nurrishes itself with the fluids of other creatures, preferably animal, sucking them dry. Standing two meters tall,  It has large three fingers hands and a large mouth with big pointy teeth. To survive the martian environment, it has developed a remarkable strenght and endurance, its thick scaly skin protecting it from most kinetic harm.
Contact was made with one of these creature in 1973 when a first manned mission to the red planet was decimated with only one survivor who was resued by another expedition aboard which ship a creature was able to stow away, killing part of the crew before they managed to throw it out the airlock.

NEPTUNIANS



Planet of Origin: Neptune
Neptunians are a green skinned reptilian humanoid species supposedly native to the planet Neptune or one of its moons.They are amphibious with four fingers palmed hands and feet, have large yellow eyes on each sides of their head whihc gives them an excellent line of sight. Their body is covered in scales. Although their level of civilisation still remains unknown, they are known to have developed sewing craft as their use of clothing demonstrates.
Note: In 1975, the Mego toy company produced the so-called action figure doll as part of their Star Trek aliens toy line although such a creature never appeared at any time inside the  franchise.

OUTER SPACE MEN / MEN OF JUPITER / JUPITERIANS / JOVIANS / COLOSSUS REX


Planet of Origin: Jupiter
The Jovians are sentient heavy and scaly reptilian humanoid which seem to have developed a civilisation in zones of the planet Jupiter where life could emerge.
Men of Jupiter action figures where commercialised in the sixties. Their story was told at the back of their blisterpack:
From the huge red spot near the equator of the giant planet Jupiter, a great ship travels forth. On board is the mighty warrior Colossus Rex, strongest of the strong. The colossal strenght needed merely to survive the crushing pressure of the atmosphere and enormous force of gravity on his native Jupiter make him a veritable superman on other worlds. Invulnerable to attacks, invincible in battle, brute strenght is his only weapon. Yet no power in the galaxy can defeat him. We hope his mission is only to explore the universe and not conquer it.

FRANK R.PAUL'S NEPTUNIANS / REPTILE MEN FROM NEPTUNE

In 1940, science-fiction art pionneer Frank R. Paul did pieces showing what life could be on other planets. In his own words:

The man from Neptune lives on a world of great density, and he is forced to fight a grim environment. Tremendous gravity, an unstabloe surface, probably liquid with little land area, dense atmosphere, all present great problems.

Paul depicts the Neptunians like tailed amphibian reptiles with some batracian and lemurian features which have developed a primitive society, living in domed huts near bodies of water, whenever possible in underground areas.

SLANN / SLANNI

The Slann evolved from amphibians. Their hands are long as well as webbed with cool, moist skins, along with large heads and protruding eyes. They are able to draw oxygen from water or other poorly oxygenated atmospheres directly through their skin and are also quite comfortable in watery surroundings. Skin colour tends to vary a great deal, with blue and green being the most common, yellow being well-represented, and other tones being rarer such as albino as well as melanistic forms. Slann that are brightly pigmented tend to be extroverts, talented or noteworthy in some manner. On some occasions, their skins tend to be mottled, striped or otherwise marked (though among certain Slann worlds, such as primitive ones, these tend to represent tribal divisions). In terms of height, Slann tend to be fairly consistent, with adults reaching two meters high whilst females tend to be slightly bulkier and larger.
Although Slann worlds can be found throughout the galaxy, their society remains closed to other races. Some worlds are highly advanced while others have fallen back to a primitive state. Wahtever their their technological advacement, they rarely ever trade with outsiders and even prove to be unpredictable due to the fact that there is little that the Slann need or want. As such, any traders encountering a tribe of Slann feel as if they were being watched or studied, with no interest in any exchange of goods.
They hold no equals in the realm of psychic-philosophy or mystic-technology as they fulfill themselves by the study of spiritual lifeforces along with the secret powers of other realities, believing that the object of life is to perfect the mind in order to become an immortal spirit.
They are bleived to be either degenerate sbjects or descendants of the Old Ones.

OLD ONES

The Old ones are a peaceful reptilian spacefaring speceis which developed an interstellar civilisation which was at its peaks some 60 millions years ago, becoming practically immortal and able to undertake great works of psychic engineering.  With a slow, cold blooded wisdom,  they built a network of Warp Gates connecting the worlds of the galaxy, seeded on them new intelligent species and reshaped thousands of worlds according to their environmental and geographic criteria.
Upon meeting the Necrontyr upon their space journey, a war erupted between the two species, which was quickly over due to the Old Ones superiority. But later on, the Necrontyr allied themsleves with the C'Tan, a powerful non-corporeal species and managed to push the Old Ones to their limit and caused them to unleash powers they were unale to control, forcing them to retreat, their empire in ruin.
The Old Ones left behind species they had helped mature and others they had created but from that point on remained absent from the Milky Way.
Among their children races were the Eldars, the Jokearo, the Rashan and K'nib, the Korks and possibly the Slann who might also be a descendant or subject species.

ICE WARRIORS / NATIVE MARTIANS / GREENIES


Planet of Origin: Mars, the fourth planet oribiting the Sun. After having struggled and adapted aritifically to their homeworld's dying ecosphere, the Ice Warriors abandoned it to relocate on other worlds in other star systems.
The Ice Warriors are a race of sexuate sentient reptilian humanoids which developed an advanced agressive civilisation built upon a strict code of honor which developed space faring capacities millenias ago. Standing around 2 meters tall, they have thin both strong bodies, three digits clawed hand, sharp fangs and large red eyes.
In order to survive harsh environments, they created  heavy suits, partly biological, partly cybernetic, which serves as weaponry, armor, powersuits and life system and which are considered dishonorable to remove. Thus they only did so under the most extreme circumstances, and if so, could  summon them back remotely.
The Ice Warriors are capable of engineering planetary ecosystems to better suit their needs; for instance, they deployed seeds on a planet which altered the environment and made it a world that would suit their needs. Such an attempt was made on Earht in the mid-21st century.

TOGONS / VENICOBANS

Planet of origin: an earth-like planet orbiting Venicoba Centauri in the Milky Way galaxy.
Togons are a sentient bipedal reptilian species which developed an agressive industrial civilisation on one continent of a planet orbiting Venicoba Centauri. They are constantly at war with the peaceful humanoid community which established themselves on the planet's other major continent, the Sharbakan. The only thing preventing the humanoids, somehow related to the Aktarkans, from being decimated by the Togons is the presence of a disruptor field around their continent.
The togons are covered in yellow scales and sport as red crest on theit head. They like to ride Zrills, pink ostrichlike reptiles with a strong sense of smell.

XI'AN

 

The Xi'An are a long lived (several hundred years) reptilian-looking humanoid species which developed an expansive interestellar civilisation which occupies at least fourteen systems in the Milky Way galaxy. While not inherently aggressive or expansionist in their nature, the Xi'An history is rife with civil war and power struggles with the result that all X'ians, military or civilian, are apt fighters. However, they prefer subtlety and manipulation to overt conflict.
Their political system is based on hereditary monarchy.  The emperor has a High Council of Advisers, each representing a facet of the government. Each colony emulate this structure with every planetary council member reporting to their respective counterparts on the Emperor's Council.
The Xi'An Empire had first contact with humans in 2530 and this encounter immediately escalated into a 259 year cold war (2530-2789).

ORULS / ZOOLIANS


Planet of Origin: Zool, a planet with a very large moon and surrounded by a lot of asteroids, situated in the Milky Way galaxy.
The Oruls are a sentient bipedal lifeform that has developed a preindustrial civilisation.Vaguely humanoid, they possess two opposable digits on their hands and feet. Their head sports two eyes, two nostrils and one mouth and they have turtle-like shells on their back and head. They were clothing and know how to work some metals.
They have been studied by the Kroons.

Note: This story is based on the Smurfs character created by Peyo. Although it figures in the same media as the Smurfs, its canonicity in the official Smurf franchise remains debattable. Given the rarity of this story, which has to our knowledge, never been republished, it nevertheless remains, by the incredible amount of visual and text informations it delivers in the two pages it lasts, a very cool piece of pop culture. YIRBEK


Planet of origin: Yirb, a planet in the Bek star system in the Andromeda galaxy.
They Yirbek are reptilian bipeds which developed an spacefaring civilisation and built a small interstellar empire before being conquered by the Skrulls some centuries before the third millenium. They have since then been used by their masters as mercenaries in minor galactic conflicts.

GOLDILOCKS ALIENS / BATTLESHIP ALIENS


Planet of Origin:Goldilocks planet, in the Milky Way galaxy
The Battleship aliens are a sentient species that developed an advanced civilisation with space faring capacity.
The are vaguely humanoid. Their hands have four opposable finger and their feet have clawed tows. They sport both mammal and reptilian features, Their face is vageuly humanlike but with less pronounced features, They are blad but possess a set of spikes all over their chin that looks that is reminiscent of a goatee beard. They are sensitive to bright lights and dislike daylight such as we have on Earth.
A scouting party came to Earth in 2012 in response to a signal from mankind had been received on their homeworld. Their goal was to establish if the planet was worth settlement. This invasion force which landed near Hawai was disposed off by the humans.

MAKLUANS / KAKARANTHARAIANS

Planet of Origin:  Kakaranathara (Aka Maklu IV), the fourth planet orbiting the star Maklu in the Milky Way galaxy.
Makluans are a reptilians species which has developed a highly advanced and peaceful democratic interstellar space faring society. 
A Makluan spaceship crashlanded in ancient China. Makluans are said to have been seen on Earth at the time as far as Camelot around the same time, and possibly other places as well. Makluans's  shapeshifting abilities made them able to walk among men without being recognised.
Makluans can function both as biped and quadruped; with green skin that average 32' in height when upright, reptilian scales, dragon-like wings, an elongated neck with rows of spikes running down the spine & tail, antennae, fan-like earlobes & clawed hands & feet. Their metabolism grants them rapid healing & the ability to regenerate certain of their body parts, entering a hibernationary state to accomplish this. Makluans are able to survive in the vacuum of space or under water for extended periods. Their lifespan is counted in centuries.Their wings endow them with flight capabilities under the speed of sound. They exhibit limited telepathy and  have natural shape-shifting abilities which allow them to assume a multitude of forms, able to alter not only their physical appearence but also their size, weight & mass by many orders of magnitude. If these polymorphic abiliites are inherent ot the species or has been artificially acquired s is unknown but it has been observed that individuals are able to transfer their life essence into the body of another living entity in case of death or serious injury; having done so, they are often able to transform the possessed body into their true form via their shape-shifting abilities. They can also exhale a corrosive chemical mist from their mouth, resembling fire, with varying degrees of intensity & accuracy.

SCARRANS

Planet of Origin: Scaran Homeworld, in the Milky Way galaxy
Scarrans have developed a technolgically advanced agressive and expansive space-faring civilisation that goes back more than 12 000 years. Bipedal sexuate reptilian species with a humanoid body structure and skin ranging from pale white to dark gray in skin colour. They thrives in heat. In cold temperatures, their body heat drops rapidly. The species is split into two classes - the ruling caste and the soldier class.The head for the ruling caste and upper class appears to be flatter in shape, with well formed humanoid mouth, eyes, nose and chin while the head on the lower class is more horse-like in shape, with a protruding mouth, less developed eyes and slits instead of nostrils, with little or no nose potrusion. They are capable of huge amounts of brute strength. Their thick skin makes them impervious to small arms, though explosives in bodily orifices has proven fatal. This, coupled with  the razor-sharp claws on the Scarrans' hands, makes them formidable in combat.Still, Their main weapon is their natural heat projection. In this, Scarrans are able to blast large amounts of heat from their hands, redirected from their bodies.
Their main weakness is their dependency to strelitzia flower or the "bird of paradise flower" (as can be found on Earth) which they must keep consuming in order to maintain their high intelligence and remain intellectually competitive with other sentient races such as humans. They will only expand on planets capable of growing the crystherium plant. It is believed that it is this plant that mutates a Scarran's features, creating the distinction between upper and lower caste Scarrans. Naturally, the upper caste Scarrans would consume more of the plant, as it is also one of the race's delicacies.
The Scarran race is intensely interested in genetics, trying to splice DNA from other species into their own.
They have also mastered the art of creating replicas of people, known as bioroids. While being programmed, These replicas can carry only the memories of the original subject.
The scarans were onceat war with the sebaceans but the eidelons managed to put an eand to it. This truce held as long as the Eidelons were there but fell apart after their disappearance. Lack of knowldege of the adversary prevented an all out war but left the two warring factions in a stateo f cold war.
The Scarrans control at least two other species. The Charrids, used as grunt soldiers, and the Kalish (a sebascean sub-species)  as technicians. While the Charrids do not seem to mind being under the thumb of the Scarrans, the Kalish dislike it. As of the beginning of the 3rd millenium,  Kalish resistance has been formed, though its objectives and how they will obtain them are unclear.
The Scarrans have an imperial system and a body of government known as The Hierarchy, to which even the Emperor has to answer to and be judged by.

VEIL


The Veil were a reptilian humanoid species which developed a space faring civilisation. They are known to have conquered several worlds long before humans appeared on Earth. At some point, the Veil homeworld was turned into a ball of ice when their sun was extinguished
They had scaly skin and horns of various size protruding from their head and shoulders. They also had a long tongue which it could flail and retract at will. They had special biological powers that allowed them to hide in the bodies of other beings and stun them as well through simple contact. The veil species has no genetic reference to the Earth's reptiles.

SELAYS / SELAYANS


Planet of origin: Selay in the Beta Renner star system, in the Milky Way
Selays are carnivorous reptilians that developed a space faring civilisation as of the 23rd century. They resemble upright bipedal serpents with two arms.
They evolved in the same system as the Anticans and their civilisation developed as about the same pace, with a similar level of technology. They entered hostilities as soon as they discovered each other. After several decades of contained war and unconstrained hatred, both simultaneously applied for Federation membership in 2366 after having made contact with it in the early 24th century. Federation mediators were able to resolve the conflict and both inhabited worlds were added to the Federation.

KANASSANS / KANASSAJIN


Planet of Origin: Kanassa, a rocky and barren planet with 3 moons.
Kanassans are a race of reptilian humanoids. They are said to possess psychic abilities, including being able to read minds and see into the future. The interstellar dictator Frieza ordered their extermination out of paranoia that they could become a threat to him.

SKALLORANS / PROTECTONS / TERRAKORS



Planet of Origin: Skallor
Skallorans are an advanced species of diminutive reptilian bipeds whcih developped as two conflictual civilisations et sub-species, Protectons and Terrakors, both highly on the verge of the interstellar age when their sun entered a period of intense activity some 3 millions years ago.
Protectons and Terrakors were forced to set aside their hostilities. While the Terrakor leader planned to use the Protecton super computer Compucore to launch his ship, the Terrastar, to transport a select few off the planet to safety, Compucore itself suggested the use of underground stasis tubes to preserve the entire population. Compucore's plan was chosen and the whole population was put in stasis. However, when a radiation leak threatened their lives, Compucore was forced to transfer and store their essences into itself. When the radiation levels finally subside to normal 3 millions of years later, It transfered the essences of four Protectons and four Terrakors into the Robotix, giant machines created to rebuild Skalorr but the conflict between both factions resurfaced.

SAKKRA



Planet of Origin: A world orbiting Sssla
The Sakkra are a reptilian species which developed an aggressive and expansionnist space faring civilisation. Knowing a quick demographical growth, they are always looking for new planets to colonize. They are very advanced in planetology and good at terraforming. Their enemies include the Alkari, Darloks, Klackons, and Meklars, and especially the Mrrshan. They did like the Humans, however.
