KLOROS

The Kloros are a chlorine-breathing, colonial insectoid species which developed an expansionnist space faring civilisation. They resemble man-size insects with a number of small tentacles protruding from their chest, a long, slender neck and a diminutive head containing a somewhat triangular-shaped proboscis and a pair of huge bug eyes. Their central nervous system brain is located in the abdominal region, and their head acts mainly as a support for the sensory organs. Their blood is green. Oxygen is deadly for them.
Kloros  have a respectable sense of morale. They lack the concept of familial bond, but do have an analogous "group bond" to their colony and always travel with their groups.

SCORPIO

Planet of Origin: A planet in the Scoprio Cluster.
Scorpio are vaguely pink skinned highly intelligent insectoid humanoid sentient species with powerful psionic abilities including slight precognition and telepathy on an interstellar range. they have developed an highly advanced civilisation. Their life cycle includes at least two stages. Nothing is known about the first one, neither their shape nor if they are even sentient while it last. The passage to ther other state is made through cocooning and metamorphosis  during which they grow into their pink humanoid form.  This evolved form is let alone to make its way in life by itself without any social support from other of its kind apart from the gift of a Projector Vest left to the cocooning form, a device which enables it interstellar range teleportation.
Action figures of Scorpio weere commercialy released in 1968 as parto f the Major Matt Mason toyline. The following legend was given:
Scorpio's Cocoon snapped open and he tumbled onto the dry sands of his planet in the star cluster Scorpio. Although Scorpio would never know his parents as Earht children would, he was prepared to face anything from the moment of his birth. His keen mind would sense danger before it appeared. The strangeelectornic cells in his brain were programmed like computers. All the information he required came instantly!
He opened his eyes, and the began to flash ! he realized he could read minds! Suddenly a sharp sound-thought screamed into his brain. It was a call from a far-away galaxy. Scorpio's next sensation was the soft kiss of stardust, the whisper of space, as he blasted out and away from his home. The new planet where Scorpio landed was totally unexplored. Strangely, though, he could sense another presence. Quickly he strapped his vest projector. But before he could gather his search globes, he saw the alien. It was Major MATT MASON. Scorpio' senses told him that this was the creature that had called hi,. This must be a friend! Without a word, Scorpio turned and followed Major MATT MASON into a world of adventure!

FRANK R. PAUL'S EUROPANS

In 1940, science-fiction art pionneer Frank R. Paul did pieces showing what life could be on other planets. In his own words:

(Speaking of Europa) This member of the Solar System is only a bit smaller than Earth' Moon. Science knows little about it, and thus, lacking conclusive observation, our artist picture its life in imaginative style.
The city of Oor, on Europa, is built in plastics. Transparent and opaque plastics make this wonder city of resazt science. Transportation is by meand of giant domesticated insects.

Paul depicts  insectoid humanoids covered with chitin armor as the main sentient species of a planet which also has deometicated giant centipedes and bee-type flyers as well as some saurian lifeforms.

Note that another picture informs us that the planet has large bodeies of water on which Ether-Ship may navigate. (The following picture comes from http://www.davidszondy.com/. Please visit his awesome site! )

FRANK R PAUL'S MERCURIANS / INSECT MEN OF MERCURY

In 1940, science-fiction art pionneer Frank R. Paul did pieces showing what life could be on other planets. In his own words:

Mercury, being dangerously near the sun, is a planet of terrific heat. Life, says science, logically can only exist in insect form.

His pictures depicts sentient wide earred creatures covered with red protective chitin armor, moving on four limbs but being able to use all of them for prehensile tasks and living in honeycombed underground Quartz Ccities to protect themselves from the heat of the sun.

Despicte the hot and harsh climate, Mercury seems to possess a body of water, although chemically-polluted, on which boats using sheets of Mica as sails can travel.

SHANS / INSECT FROM SHAGGAI

Planet of Origin: Shaggai , a world that orbits twin emerald suns where the Shan lived in globular dwellings in huge cities. As worshippers of the Outer God Azathoth, they erected pyramidal temples containg "multidimensional gates" whereby "that from Outside" (an aspect of Azathoth called Xada-Hgla) could enter. Shaggai was also the one ofthe titanic Baoht Z'uqqa-Mogg, Bringer of Pestilence, a Great Old One similar to a colossal scorpion with huge compound eyes interspersed with antennae, an ant-like, venom-dripping maw, and gigantic wings which was often accompanied by a swarm of stinging insects. Shaggai was destroyed about a thousand years ago.
At last a shape appeared, flapping above the ground on leathery wings. The thing which flew whirring toward me was followed by a train of others, wings slapping the air at incredible speed... I could ... make out many more details... Those huge lidless eyes which stared in hate at me, the jointed tendrils which seemed to twist from the head in cosmic rhythms, the ten legs, covered with black shining tentacles and folded into the pallid underbody, and the semi-circular ridged wings covered with triangular scales... I saw the threemouths of the thing move moistly, and then it was upon me.
—Ramsey Campbell, "The Insects from Shaggai"
The Insects from Shaggai, or Shan, are a species of sentient pigeon-sized insectoid who developed an advanced civilisation with some space faring capacities.
The brains of the Shan have six lobes, giving them the ability to follow three trains of thought simultaneously. Most Shan have a phobia of sunlight because the electromagnetic frequency of the Sun's rays poisons their metabolism. As a result of contact with Azathoth the Shan developed the ability of Kirlian Phasing, allowing them to pass into the skulls and brains of organic life and mindcontrol them and feed  off the electromagnetic impulses in the brain .
Abut a thousand years ago, the Outer God Ghroth the Harbinger passed near Shaggai  and destroyed the planet. Only those Shan in their teleporting temples of Azathoth survived the catastrophe. The survivors teleported to their colony on the planet Xiclotl, where their brethren had enslaved the native inhabitants.
It is believed that the Mi-go influenced the path of Ghroth to instigate the obliteration of Shaggai or even that Ghroth awakened the local Great Old One, The Worm that Gnaws in the Night, destroying the planet.
The Shan remained on Xiclotl for some time, but upon discovering the frightening nature of their slaves' singular religious practice, they teleported to the planet Thuggon. A horrific find on this world prompted the Shan to flee once more, this time to the planet L'gy'hx, aka Uranus. When this world proved unsuitable, a small band of the Shan teleported to Earth arriving in the Severn Valley region of England sometime in the Middle Ages.
On Earth, they usually meld with humans. Once ensconced within the cranium of a human victim, they use telepathy to gradually dominate and control their puppet. The relationship is completely parasitic. As long as it inhabits a human host, the Shan has some control over the host's actions, and the longer it is there, the more control it gains. It can, however, be driven out by trepanation.
Other than a few heretics, the Shan are divided into two factions: Fanatical worshippers of Azathoth's avatar Xada Hgla that wish to eliminate all other sects and consider other deities to be inferior or false, and a faction of amoral hedonists whose main purpose is to discover new experiences, most of which involve cruelty or depravity. Their sadistic fancy is often implemented through a host, preferably a sentient one.
