July Blog Sketch Challenge!

I was the lucky one who got to make an example for this month's sketch challenge and I decided to make a lay-out with the wonderful Take a Hike collection.

Here is the sketch:

I took this photo of a squirrel in Central Park last month and I figured that the Take a Hike collection was simply perfect for scrapping it.

I replaced the two square photos in the sketch by two Misc Me cards from the Take a Hike collection, which I added on the right side of my photo. I wrote my journaling on these two cards.

I stamped with the Wall To Wall Textures stamps in the corners of my lay-out for a vintage touch. I also created a cluster of chipboard embellishments in the right lower corner of my photo.

You can better see my title on this lay-out. I made it with the Alphabet Gold Foil Transfers. The title is in Dutch and means "sweet" in English.

1 Layout 3 Ways Goes Wild!

Hi there! Ulrika here today to show you 1 layout, 3 ways! A perfect way to start out clean and simple, and then add on some more... and some more...!

I started out like this:

Skogens djur (The Animal Of The Forest) by Ulrika Wandler

The pictures were taken by an amazing photographer called Lennart Johansson who should have all credit. He let me use his pictures, and I will send him my layout as a thank you.

When I wanted to add some more in the second step, I used some mist, some stickers and two diecut arrows from the Notewothy pack.

Here is the surprise! For step three I simply added a second page! It became a double layout.

Don't you just love that fox picture! What a beautiful animal...

Take A Hike With Misc Me!

Hello Everyone!

It's Denise here today to share some Misc. Me pages, using the fabulous and fun Take a Hike Collection and some Double Dot goodies.

Here's the first spread.

Misc. Me spread by Denise van Deventer using Take a Hike Collection and Double Dot Jewels

Recently my son went to a friends Birthday Party and they went to an adventure park called "Go Ape".  This Birthday outing was the perfect theme for using the Take a Hike Collection.

I kept the styling fairly simple and just used some stamping, stickers, doodling and some Double Dot jewels to add fun and embellishments to these spreads.

Here's a close-up of the stamping and doodling and fun use of Double Dot jewels.

I wanted Joe to be able to remember this adventure, especially when he gets quite a bit older and so took some info off the internet about "Go Ape" and added this to one of the cards.

The stickers, stamping and Double Dot jewels certainly add some flavour to the cards but without the bulk.

Thanks so much for stopping by the BoBunny blog today.  We hope to see you back tomorrow.

Take A Hike Down Under!

Hi There BoBunny Fans :)

Today is Party Day!! and I've teamed up Double Dot and Take a Hike to give you party ideas with a smidgen of a NZ twist! ;)

Double Dot & Take a Hike Party by Megan Gourlay for BoBunny

There's always sweet treats at parties but why not put a quirky hiking theme to them?  Like chocolate peanuts could be bear poop ;)  but in NZ I found huhu grubs at the lollie shop :)  Perfect for my party seeing as their indigenous to NZ and found in dead logs, easy to find when you take a hike ;)

First up, goody bags! So why not backpacks?!  I've used different colours and ranges of Double Dot Cardstock to make mine, using brads from the collection to co-ordinate and some misc. matching ribbon.

Marvelous Mixed Media Layout!

Hi There BoBunny Fans :)

Today I wanted to share with a mixed media layout using Take a Hike.

In the Southern Hemisphere we are heading into winter so the autumnal colours of this collection were perfect to scrap this photo of my wee fella Dougal romping around our back yard :)

Dougal by Megan Gourlay for BoBunny using Take a Hike

To create the foundation for my background I have ripped the edges of three sheets of paper and then adhered them to my base piece of Take a Hike.

Dougal by Megan Gourlay for BoBunny using Take a Hike

Here you can see the dimension of the long cluster. I've only applied adhesive to part of the banner so that I can curl the tips of the banner and give it a bit more oomph :)  After die cutting out all the leaves I used the die as a stencil and ink over the back of the die, onto the paper so that the leaves had all their little creases and lines which helps make them a little more real and defined.

A smaller cluster to the side of the photo ties the whole layout together :)

This close up shows you the different mixed media colours I've used.  I used the script stencil from the Brocade set, colouring the texture paste with gold glimmer spray, giving a creamy effect.  I created the darker green splatters by mixing Frost and Mint sprays with a drop of Bronze.  This was splattered randomly over the page as well as more splats of gold and bronze.  Some random stamping with my favourite stamps finished it off :)

Thanks for popping by today!

Forest Picnic by Ulrika Wandler

Welcome to join me on a picnic in the forest! The snacks are on me!

Forest Picnic Alter by Ulrika Wandler using BoBunny Take A Hike Collection

I decorated a plastic container with pieces of paper and some stickers. Maybe I can fill it with sausages to put on the grill?

No picnic without candy! Here are some bars we could enjoy after the sausages!

And no picnic barbecue without s'mores, right?! I packed crackers and marshmallows.

If we'll get thirsty, we have a bottle of lemonade!

I also decorated some cupcakes with flags. Feel free to grab one! ...or two...

Take A Hike Layout with Crackle Paste!

Hello everyone! Are you up for another layout from me? Today, I'm going to share with you all a layout which I've created using the cool "Take A Hike" collection by BoBunny.

Nestled In The Trees Layout by Irene Tan

Nestled In The Trees Layout by Irene Tan using BoBunny Take A Hike collection

This is such a cool outdoor themed collection. Love the earth tones and the prints of trees, leaves, animals and logs. Here are some close-ups of this layout.

On this layout, I've used a little mixed media techniques to create the crackled textures on its background. I used BoBunny crackle primer and paste to create the crackle and later, sprayed it with some bronze and mint glimmer spray.

Hope you all are inspired and have fun playing!

Adventure Awaits Scrapbook Page by Rhonda
Adventure Awaits Scrapbook Page featuring Take A Hike collection by BoBunny designed by Rhonda Van Ginkel with Mixed Media Accents

I am excited to share with you my project for today featuring the Take A Hike collection along with some mixed media accents. To begin, I gave my light beige "Campfire" paper a light coat of our White Gesso. It virtually disappears if you use a light hand. This allows your Glimmer Spray to move and blend instead of soaking immediately into your paper.

Next, I determined the placement for my photo and chosen embellishments, then marked lightly with a pencil to the corners so I could stamp and ink accordingly.

I added Silver Glitter Paste to the background using the "Oh My Stars" Stickable Stencil. Then, I grabbed my Glimmer Sprays and started creating a few ink splatters. Once done, I misted very lightly with a few spritzes of water and set it aside to dry.

This is one of my favorite toddler photos of our youngest son. He tossed his hat off of his head and took off on a little walk at Grandpa's farm. I wanted to accent the hat gently, so I used the Layered Chipboard titled "Wander". I feel it draws your eye to the hat where without that embellishment, it disappeared into the photo.

What are your favorite mixed media supplies? Are there techniques you would like to see more examples of? We would love to know.

1 Layout 3 Ways with Take A Hike!

Good Morning! Today I am sharing a really fun project! It's a layout that shows three different ways you can scrapbook your projects. Clean and Simple? Maybe a little more? Oh my gosh I can't stop? I think I am the last one! So let's take a peek at what I created.

The Boyz of Summer by Lynn Shokoples
Boyz of Summer One Layout Three Ways by Lynn Shokoples for BoBunny featuring the Take A Hike Collection.

Here are all three layouts in the different stages. I've had this photo of my son and our grand dog Jiggy since last summer looking for the right collection. Then along came Take A Hike! Perfect for those lazy days of summer out at the lake. Now let's take a look at the different layouts a little more closely.

Boyz of Summer One Layout Three Ways by Lynn Shokoples for BoBunny featuring the Take A Hike Collection.

For the first layout I added some Noteworthy Pieces, a little Chipboard and a few strips of the 6x6 Paper Pad. I used one of the cards from the Pocket Squares to use as a title. Done?

For the next step I added more paper strips along the side, backed my photo and added a few more chipboard pieces along with some Noteworthy. There are so many fun elements in the Noteworthy and Chipboard packs, I had a hard time stopping.. now are we done?

For the finished layout I added stamps, some Graphite Pearlescent with the Under the Sea Stickable stencil and a title from the Combo Stickers. I found the Icon and Emoji Stamps perfect for filling in those little spaces and it added some fun to the layout. See.. I have a hard time stopping! I am definitely the "I don't know when to stop" scrapper, always looking for another little spot for an embellishment.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you have a Scrappy Happy Day!!!!
