Cards, Cards, Beautiful Cards!

We are teaming up with Leaky Shed Studio's this month as most of you know I love to work with chipboard so this was heaven for me. For both my cards I was inspired by cards on pinterest.

Have a very merry Christmas by Amy

I really wanted to make some kind of pocket card using BoBunny packaging. The tag below is made out of a brads packaging really fun and super easy.

You know I love to stitch I always do that on my sewing machine. A tip: only sew trough one layer of paper otherwise you sewing machine will die on you.
The Leaky Shed Studio chipboard was treated with embossing powder and ink.

Still in love with the gorgeous BoBunny flowers don't you just love the dimension they have.

BoBunny Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Caroling, Flurry, Glad Tidings/Christmas Collage
Brads: Christmas Collage

Blossoms: Harvest Orange Daisy, Natural Earth Daisy, Buttercup Pansy, Wildberry Pansy

Warmest Wishes by Amy

For my second card I wanted to use the gorgeous "Altitude"collection I have to say I think this is by far the prettiest collection made by BoBunny ever. As you see I love different shapes of cards and purple & blue are my favorite colors to scrap.

Don't you just love the snowflakes by Leaky Shed Studios? I have to say this was made in 15 minutes. Also on this card I used white embossing powder and later treated it with the silver glimmer paste to make it sparkle.

I hope I inspired you to make some pretty cards.

Merry Christmas Misc Me

Happy Holidays BoBunny fans! Today is my turn to share with you all some Misc Me pages which I've created using Christmas Collage collection and Leaky Shed Studio's beautiful chipboard pieces.

In today's post, I would like to share a little on how easy it it to alter these intricate chipboard pieces using BoBunny's mixed media mediums. Before that, here are some closer look on these pages.

To alter or rather add some colors and textures to the chipboard frames and snowflakes, I've first sprayed them using BoBunny's glimmer sprays. I've used a few colors such as Sugar, Gold and Bronze.

Then, I randomly dab some glitter paste onto them for more sparkle. I use the gold and copper glitter paste. For detailing, I use Butterscotch pearlescent, some jewels and brads.

A Merry Misc Me Christmas!

Welcome to another day of inspiration with BoBunny and Leaky Shed chipboard. When I looked at my stash with photos, I noticed that I still had quite a lot of Christmas and winter photos from last year that I hadn't scrapped yet. Since I didn't want to create a separate lay-out for each photo, I decided to record them in my Misc Me life journal. I just love this BoBunny journal system and it enabled me to create a pretty documentation of my Christmas photos and memories.

For my Misc Me pages, I used a combination of the Candy Cane Lane Misc Me cards and the Christmas Collage collection. Some of the Candy Cane Lane cards had a vintage look that matched the Christmas Collage collection just perfectly.

On my second page I incorporated a beautiful corner flourish from Leaky Shed. At first, I wanted to cover it in glitter or heat emboss it, but in the end I decided to keep it natural. The brown tone of the flourish actually matched the vintage colours in the Christmas Collage collection quite well.

I used the chipboard embellishments and buttons from the Christmas Collage collection to further embellish my pages. As you can see on the photo above, I added some of the embellishments on the page itself (inside the sleeves) and some of them on top of the sleeves. This allowed me to incorporate as many layers as I wanted.

On the page above, I used the Christmas tree from Leaky Shed. Again, I didn't decorate it with any mediums, but just kept it as it was. I loved the chipboard piece with the text "Eat, Drink & Be Merry" as it suited the photo of me and my boyfriend just perfectly. It was taken at Christmas dinner last year and represents just how we felt at that moment.

A few days before Christmas, my boyfriend taught me how to ice skate. I hadn't skated for at least 7 years and was pretty afraid to start doing it again, but it turned out that I actually wasn't as bad as I expected to be. We had a wonderful time. I scrapped this photo in my Misc Me December pages as well. As you can see on the photo above, I used some of the pre-made Candy Cane Lane journal cards, but also hand-cut a few cards from the Christmas Collage papers.

Christmas Misc Me!

Christmas's are such special, family times for me and so I wanted to start documenting these special festive times.

Past, Present and Christmas's still to come by Denise van Deventer

I started with the year before my son was born as it was quite a special time for me, because he was already in my tummy and I remember thinking how different our next Christmas would be.

I love that there are always photo's with such spontaneous expressions....and these are certainly in that category.

It is also a little sad for me to see that some of my family members are much older now and are a little more fragile than what they were before.

8 years does not seem a very long time, but looking back at these photo's, they were certainly a walk down memory lane. I really do want to document and capture these moments for my son and nieces.

I did layer and raise some elements, but not unduly so, as I did not want the pockets to be bulky. I also did some stitch stamping to add interest.

I heat embossed the Leaky Shed Studio chipboard with gold embossing powder, as Christmas is all about something shiny and a little bit of bling!

I will share more of these spreads and the cover of my Misc. Me Christmas album on my blog.  So you are welcome to pop over and have a look here.

Fantastic Pearlescents Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today, I wanted to share some fun ideas of different things you could do with the new Pearlescents. They are absolutely amazing - a thick, shimmery paint that keeps its shape and comes out of a tube. I LOVE them, which is why I'm always pulling them out and playing around with them. So you're in for a lot of pictures today and several cards I created using Pearlescents in various ways. If you want to see two more New Year's Cards I created using Pearlescents for accents, you can check out my blog HERE.

Fun with Pearlescents by Ilene Tell

1. Stencil

Use a snippet of a makeup sponge. Add Pearlescents directly to sponge and dab on top of stencil. The result will be a shimmery image.

2. Dots Around Edges
Pearlescents tutorial by Ilene Tell using BoBunny stencils
Adding dots around the edge helps give the paper interest and the edges more definition. I love to use this technique on my cards and layouts! Simply express a tiny dot onto the page. In the image above, you can also see how the stenciled image came out - it reflects the light beautifully.

3. Cover Naked Chipboard

Here is the card using the stenciled doily and the dots around the edges. I used a Leaky Shed Studio laser-cut chipboard Christmas Tree and covered it with Pealescents in gold, and the stump in brown. Pearlscents is absolutely perfect for covering laser-cut chipboard and Bo Bunny wooden embellishments. It's very easy and since the paint is so thick, it stays put and creates a raised effect, giving the embellishment shine and even more dimension.

4. Painting

Since the Pearlescents are so thick, you could easily dilute them with water or your BoBunny Glimmer Sprays and paint using a paintbrush. Another option is to "paint" right from the tube, using the thickness to work for you. Here, I started by covering the Leaky Shed chipboard with the Pearlscents.

After letting the chipboard dry, I filled in the empty spaces with the Pearlescents.

As you can see in the detail image below, when used as paint and applied in a thick layer, you can see swirls of shimmer inside, which creates a stunning effect.

5. Stamping

Stamping and Pearlescents tutorial by Ilene Tell using BoBunny Altitude

For this technique, stamp your image first. I stamped a swirl design using Bo Bunny stamps and ink. Then, simply trace the design with the Pearlescents. You can see the example of the result below.

6. Icicles
Pearlescents are wonderful for creating a very realistic and beautiful icicle border. Simply add in a line, and create icicles by applying the Pearlescents downward at random intervals, making sure it's thicker at the top and thins out as it stretches down. Super easy!
Here is the completed card with icicles and the painted swirl from above.

7. Pearlescent Molding Paste

Molding Paste tutorial by Ilene Tell using BoBunny Pearlescents

Use the Pearlescents to color Molding Paste. This is a thick substance that is sold in arts and crafts stores, and comes in white. Keep adding and mixing in the Pealescents until you get the color you want. Then you can apply it to your project - it's easy to apply with a pallet knife or an old credit card, and can be applied directly to the page or over a stencil. Below is an example of using the Pearlescents mixed with molding paste, and applied over a Bo Bunny circles stencil. You can see the gorgeous, light blue, transparent effect that was created.

Tip: For mixing the paint, use discarded packaging.

Tip: Have a box of baby wipes handy where you scrapbook. When done with your stencil, simply wipe off the excess paint.

8. Paint Embellishments
In order to paint embellishments, first cover them completely with gesso (white primer found in arts and crafts store). Then color it with Pealescents using a paint brush. Easy!

Winter's Best card by Ilene Tell using BoBunny Altitude

Here, I painted the Bo Bunny flower with gesso, and then painted over it with Pealescents. You can see the shimmery result that you get - so perfect for this wintry card! I also used the Pearlescent molding paste technique on this card, combined with a BoBunny script stencil. Because the Pearlescents are so thick, I was able to add the faux pearl to the center and let the Pearlescents act as glue to hold it in place.

Well, I hope you liked some of the ideas I shared today on how to make the most out of your Pearlescents. These ideas are all very easy to execute and a lot of fun to try. Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to share any Pearlescents ideas you have in the comments :)
