My Vintage Vanity: Party Purses

I've listed some pretty cocktail party and wedding worthy vintage purses in my Etsy shop; The Sparkling Cocktail! Let's have a look:

My Vintage Vanity Bobbins and Bombshells

This 1970's La Regale woven cream raffia purse is timeless and a wardrobe essential. Even though it's woven straw, the colors are perfect for Autumn and Thanksgiving parties. Yes I said it! The holidays are right around the corner!

Perfect for Holiday parties or a Saturday night. This 1960's metallic gold purse can also be used as a clutch. I love the ruffles!

Vintage white beaded purses are a classic and great for weddings; either for the Bride or attendee. This one is no exception. This 1960's vintage beaded purse is covered in white seed beads with iridescent white bugle beads creating a pretty leaf motif. This can also be used as a clutch.

Which one is your favorite?

My Vintage Vanity: Telephone Plastic Coil Bag

Purses made out of telephone plastic coils or telephone cord became popular in the 1940's. During the war, there were tight rations on fabrics and leather. Plastic started becoming popular and coil bags became a resourceful alternative for the hip fashionable crowd.

Several variations were made from solid colors to two-tone to multi-color.  Different shapes were also available.

I've been lucky to come across one, as they are hard to find and rare nowadays. I have also put it for sale in my Etsy shop; The Sparkling Cocktail

My Vintage Vanity: The Perfect Beach Bag

I've mentioned my love for this vintage straw bag before that I bought almost two years ago in Phoenix. I have to highlight it again as I brought it to the beach last weekend and it made the perfect beach bag.
What do you use as your beach bag?

My Vintage Vanity: Winter White Embroidered Purse

*Take a peek into my vintage collection*

I love this vintage purse! I was so lucky to receive it as a Christmas gift last year. The winter white color makes it perfect for this time of year. Protected with a plastic layer the cross stitch and twisted yarns are safe from rainy days and keep it clean. It's also large enough to fit all my daily needs.
Can you see the glitter?

Complete with a pearloid handle and hinge top!

My Vintage Vanity: 1940's Dress

*A peek into my permanent vintage collection!*

One of my favorite dresses! This one is a 1940's floral printed rayon dress in teal, pink, white and black. Hard to see here but it has a gathered peplum at the waist. I bought it in Chicago at Very Best Vintage, a shop my wallet is grateful to be many many miles away! I am wearing the dress with my vintage smokey grey straw purse I bought in St. Louis, nude hose with black back seam, and Faryl Robin shoes I scored at DSW.
