(the entrance)
The Sensory Garden allows visitors to use their senses while exploring the gardens. Visitors can listen to the sounds of the water fountain, smell and see the beautiful plants, flowers and shrubs growing and there is a pebble boarder to guide people with sight impairments around the garden.
The Sensory Garden is named after Fred Hollows who was a passionate ophthalmologist who became known for his work in helping to restore the eyesight of countless thousands of people in developing countries and his passionate plight to improve Indigenous health here in Australia. In 1993 he lost his battle with cancer aged 63. (source: Blacktown City Council site)Thank you to That's my World! Tuesday team, Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and Sylvia for this meme.
