FOREIGN POLICY MAGAZINE COVERED UP SEX JIHAD IN SYRIA
Raymond Ibrahim writes about how Foreign Policy denied that Muslim women were going to Syria to serve as prostitutes for jihadists, and explains exactly why it's not a news magazine worth buying and reading.

MURDER WITH AXE IN JORDAN VALLEY
Yet another murder by jihadists, this time with a sick form of weapon:
An IDF reserve colonel Sariya Ofer was killed on Thursday night and his girlfriend wounded in an attack in the northern Jordan Valley region, an IDF spokesperson confirmed for The Jerusalem Post. The housing minister has called for the state to stop direct talks with the PLO, and they should.
According Ofer's partner, Monique Omer, the couple, both in their 50's, heard noises outside their home, located near the West Bank moshav Shadmot Mehola.
Upon leaving the house to investigate, the man was attacked and killed by what the woman said were two Palestinians wielding an ax and iron bars.
The two attackers reportedly tried to grab the woman as she fled from the scene and stopped a passing car on Route 90 to call security forces, Israel Radio reported.
HMMM: NYTIMES: SNOWDEN BEGAN EFFORT TI SPY IN 2009 WHILE WORKING FOR CIA IN GENEVA

Just as Edward J. Snowden was preparing to leave Geneva and a job as a C.I.A. technician in 2009, his supervisor wrote a derogatory report in his personnel file, noting a distinct change in the young man’s behavior and work habits, as well as a troubling suspicion. The C.I.A. suspected that Mr. Snowden was trying to break into classified computer files to which he was not authorized to have access, and decided to send him home, according to two senior American officials. But the red flags went unheeded. Mr. Snowden left the C.I.A. to become a contractor for the National Security Agency, and four years later he leaked thousands of classified documents. The supervisor’s cautionary note and the C.I.A.’s suspicions apparently were not forwarded to the N.S.A. or its contractors, and surfaced only after federal investigators began scrutinizing Mr. Snowden’s record once the documents began spilling out, intelligence and law enforcement officials said.THIS MAKES ME MORE SURE THAN EVER THAT SNOWDEN IS NOT A WHISTLEBLOWER, BUT A SPY - PROBABLY WORKING FOR PUTIN AND PROBABLY RECRUITED WHILE HE WAS IN SWITZERLAND.

OBAMA'S WATCH AND THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT
From the Washington Times:
Just last week, I saw my liberal neighbor, long an Obama supporter, throw out lots of those official White House ornaments. An interesting symbolic gesture. Maybe he's gotten a look at what his 40-something son's health insurance premium will be under ObamaCare.
Christmas spirit dies on Obama’s watch; ornament-hawking White House gift shop goes bankruptIt's no wonder. People in general are fed up with politics.
In another sign of the tough times in Washington these days, the White House Gift Shop, long run by a nonprofit group that helps uniformed Secret Service officers and their families, has gone broke.
The Secret Service Uniformed Division Benefit Fund, which traces its roots to the 1940s and for years did business as the official White House Gift Shop, lists more than $600,000 in liabilities in a pending bankruptcy petition in Washington....

THE MOSQUE MURAL IN TORONTO THAT PROMOTES JIHAD
A mosque in Toronto has drawn up a mural that promotes jihad against non-Muslims:
Interesting that a Muslim would be the one concerned here, and he even has the audacity to acknowledge that the Koran has some very vile themes inside.
Here's an extra report on INN.
TORONTO - The city is investigating a controversial publicly funded mural which critics say promotes a holy war against non-Muslims.Poor fool. I figure he's another sloppy researcher who bought into taqqiya hook, line and sinker. Assuming he really doesn't know what the authentic texts in Arabic say, he'd do well enough to translate them and be honest and transparent about what they do say.
The city-funded piece of art on the wall of a building housing the Al-Tawakal mosque, in the city's east end, incorporates a verse from the Qur'an, which is written in Arabic and scrawled in modern, urban-style graffiti. [...]
Salim Ahmad, a member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, has launched a petition calling on Mayor Rob Ford to remove the contentious image.
"It's an excerpt from the Qur'an, (and) it is used as a slogan when you're fighting a jihad," he said.
In the petition, Ahmad claims the verse is used by both the Taliban and al-Qaida.
Adrian Hayles, a non-Muslim artist commissioned to come up with the mural, said Tuesday he chose that Qur'an verse because he was attracted to the look of the Arabic script and felt the English translation conveyed a positive message.

FRENCH REPORTER FACING CRIMINAL TRIAL FOR QUESTIONING ISLAM
He's being prosecuted under an antiquated 1881 law that needs to be abolished already (via Jihad Watch):
A French journalist is facing a criminal trial under the country’s strict press laws for remarks made during a radio debate about the influence of Islam. This cannot be allowed to stand any more than the persecution of Phillipe Karsenty. Riouful needs all the help he can get.
Ivan Rioufol, 61, believes the way he is being treated is an example of how writers are criminalised when the state is able to control the media.
He was summoned to court under strict press laws which date back to the 19th Century following a complaint from a pressure group called the Collective Against Islamophobia in France (CCIF).
‘In seeking to undermine liberty of expression, a sacred principle of our civilisation, the Collective against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) takes the risk of appearing like a menace to democracy,’ said Mr Rioufol.
‘This is essentially what I hope to be able to explain in court, because I will have to appear in a few months before the 17th Criminal Court in Paris.’
Mr Rioufol, who has written for Le Figaro newspaper for almost 28 years, made some allegedly defamatory remarks on November 15th 2012 during an RTL radio programme called ‘We Reshape the World.’
Mr Rioufol particularly objected to a CCIF poster campaign which showed pictures of predominantly bearded and veiled Muslims under the slogan ‘We are the Nation’.
The journalist said that this was against the spirit of France’s inclusive, secular republic – something which CCIF objected to.
Mr Rioufol said that France’s 1881 Press Law was being used to ‘penalise criticism, intimidate journalists, censor the media’ and even ‘to reintroduce the offence of blasphemy’.
The 1881 law was nominally meant to guarantee the ‘freedom of the press’ but in fact criminalised a range of journalistic behaviour.
So called ‘press offenses’ ranged from insulting the President of France, to defaming private citizens through comment.
Mr Rioufol said about the case’s first hearing: ‘The judge reminded me that he himself had no opportunity to verify the existence of the alleged offense, the procedure - Press Law 1881 - leading automatically to court, where the case will be considered on its merits.’
Mr Rioufol said the law was ‘easily manipulated’ by those who wanted to persecute journalists.
RABBI OVADIA YOSEF, 1920-2013
The spiritual leader of Shas, rabbi Ovadia Yosef, has passed away after illness and hospitalization at age 93. He certainly got quite a lot of people visiting his funeral too.
But while I offer my condolences for his passing, that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore any of the bad things he did during his career mixing up religion with politics...and leftism. Let's take what this writer at Bloomberg says about him as an example of why I found this man a colossal embarrassment:
Now, here's the money paragraph:
And, 6 years ago, Yosef even said IDF soldiers die because they don't observe Shabbat, which is offensive because they were facing deadly jihadists, and how could they perform customs if they were in battle anyway? I'm sorry, but what he said was simply out of place.
Yosef's attack on rabbi David Stav, apparently because he's not Haredi and because he disliked his wish to make Judaism more welcoming for people who find Haredi-dominating beliefs alienating was another inexcusable error he made, and he never apologized for that either. Sure, I realize that Yosef was an old man and probably not in full control or understanding of his actions, but it's still no excuse for his irrational behavior.
A most appalling thing that's taken place now is that some of his followers have exploiting his funeral for attacking political rivals: during a condolence visit, deputy religious affairs minister rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan was attacked at the funeral. And David Yosef told Benjamin Netanyahu that drafting Haredis for the army hurt his father more than his ailments. For heaven's sake, is this the time to complain about politics they don't agree with? All they're doing is making themselves look exploitive.
Based on this, it's hard to appreciate a man who espoused beliefs that were harmful even to his own community, and otherwise did little or nothing to help the country.
But while I offer my condolences for his passing, that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore any of the bad things he did during his career mixing up religion with politics...and leftism. Let's take what this writer at Bloomberg says about him as an example of why I found this man a colossal embarrassment:
Although he viewed the Israeli state with ambivalent engagement, Yosef was a harbinger of Israel’s epochal transformation from a secular nationalist Jewish state into a religious nationalist state -- in other words, a country much more like its Middle Eastern neighbors than it otherwise would be.Is that some kind of an insult? Though there is a very legitimate argument to be made that Haredi customs do damage along with their useful idiots among secular males and females.
Yosef’s willingness to serve in the official governmental post of chief rabbi differentiated him from the European-origin, or Ashkenazi, leaders of ultra-Orthodoxy in Israel. Those men were either skeptical of the Zionist project or outright opposed to it, and traditionally believed that the Jewish people should not attempt to exercise political sovereignty until a supernatural messianic age brought it about. They viewed the state of Israel as secular and therefore illegitimate, and felt the chief rabbinate office gave a false religious patina to an essentially nonreligious polity.I gotta wonder what the point is here. After all, Yosef wasn't all that different from his Ashkanazi counterparts of Haredi background, and he supported socialist concepts as much as they did, right down to opposition to army service. And even religious courts can be extremely corrupt, especially when they did whatever they could to prevent women from serving, something that's only now being overcome better. So I don't see what was so great about disapproving of litigation in secular courts.
In contrast, Yosef was willing to meet the state halfway: to insist that a truly legitimate Israel would be based on Jewish religion, not Jewish nationalism, while still engaging with the state’s political institutions. In one remarkable decision, he opined that it was prohibited for an observant Jew to initiate a lawsuit in Israel’s secular courts because their status was comparable to that of non-Jewish courts in the diaspora. Yet at the same time, he refused to call himself a non-Zionist, pointing to his service as chief rabbi.
Now, here's the money paragraph:
Most significantly, Yosef in the 1990s issued a highly controversial judgment that it was permissible as a matter of Jewish law for the state to exchange territory for peace with Palestinian negotiating counterparts. This ruling, far more lenient than that of other prominent ultra-Orthodox rabbis who have considered the subject, captured Yosef’s distinctive mix of legal acumen and flexible statecraft. And we all saw how that worked out, what with terrorist bombings that cost hundreds of lives, even 2 in my neighborhood. What he did was obscene to the victims, and he never actually apologized for his own role in any of that. Sure, he may not have actually met in person with vile filth like Arafat, but that he would approve of negotiating with monsters who belong in hell and do not deserve to be politicians was a betrayal of even his party's own voters and much of the public he supposedly supported.
In recent years, Shas has crept to the right in the Israeli political spectrum. But the real political legacy of Yosef’s career is that, by making a religious party into a mainstream, non-rejectionist national actor, he helped move Israeli political culture from secular nationalism to a more religiously-informed model. In a rough parallel to the rise of Islamic politics in Arabic-speaking countries, the politics of Jewish religion, not just Jewish nationalism, is now an enduring part of the Israeli landscape. The analogy here is ludicrous, and a party that otherwise opposes army service and whose members say nasty things about communities that aren't Haredi is hardly what I'd call non-rejectionist or going to the right, even though these labels are ultimately meaningless. According to this op-ed, Yosef offered support during the 1970s for Ethiopian Jews, but his son David Yosef did not learn the same lesson, and again, Yosef's politics during the 90s were a betrayal of even the black community in this country.
Annie Lennox calls for pop video ratings
BBC:
Pop star Annie Lennox has described the sexualised imagery of modern pop videos as "dark" and "pornographic". "I'm all for freedom of expression," she told BBC Radio 5 live, "but this is clearly one step beyond, and it's clearly into the realm of porn."I AGREE.
"How do you stop your kids being exposed to it? It's so powerful. You don't want to see your seven-year-old girls twerking all over the place."The singer has called for pop videos to be rated in the same way as films.
TURKEY'S LURCH TO TOTALITARIANISM
Michael Rubin at Commentary's written about Turkey's shift to autocracy:
I’ve now spent almost a decade writing about the transformation in Turkey. A decade ago, Turkey was a Western-leaning democracy, however flawed, with a largely free even if cantankerous press. Now, Turkey leans firmly toward the Arab world and China, has a prime minister who seems a blend of Vladimir Putin and an Ottoman Sultan, and has not only cracked down on press freedom, but now also seems to be penalizing “thought crime.”Depending on one's view, Tayyip Erdogan's even worse than Putin. It's high time for anybody who recognizes the evil sweeping Turkey to avoid putting money into their pockets by not investing in their businesses at all.
MUSLIM HONOR MURDERS INCREASED UNDER PLO THIS YEAR
The Algemeiner reports that besides terrorist attacks, there's also been a rise in Muslim honor murders this year:
According to the Palestinian NGO Women’s Center for Legal Aid Counseling, a total of 25 Palestinian women have been murdered this year in honor crimes, compared to 13 women killed in 2012.They are as guilty as sin of encouraging this kind of sadism. And so long as they're allowed to govern Gaza, it'll continue.
The latest honor killings took place in September, leaving two Palestinian women dead. A 33-year-old mother from Deir al-Ghusun village in the Tulkarem district was found strangled on September 21, according to a report by Maan News Agency. Her father allegedly admitted to killing his daughter, Thamar Zeidan.
Zeidan had been married before she turned 15, and had gotten divorced four years ago. She had two children, according to Palestinian media reports. Prior to her murder, extended family members signed a public statement hung on the door of the local mosque and on village homes condemning Thamar for “disgraceful and outrageous acts.” According to the Middle East news source Al-Monitor, the statement also accused her father of failing to uphold family honor, stating that the Zeiden family had disowned him, “absolving itself of any tribal or legal obligations regarding him.”
Abdel Rahman Zeidan, a Hamas deputy in the Legislative Council, also signed the public condemnation.
Despite general statements condemning honor killings, Hamas has been accused of incitement in Palestinian media reports.

9-YEAR-OLD GIRL INJURED IN TERRORIST ATTACK AT PSAGOT
More fallout from the jihad process as a 9-year-old girl was wounded by a jihadist at the town of Psagot. The prime minister condemned the incident:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday condemned the incident in which a nine-year old girl was allegedly wounded a day earlier in the West Bank settlement of Psagot.Did it ever occur to him that releasing terrorists from prison led to some of this? As some Knesset members have made clear, the PLO is also responsible for encouraging this. MK Yoni Cheboun said:
In remarks made at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, the premier called the incident "a heinous attack."
"This past year has been the quietest in over a decade, but lately we have noticed an increase in the number of terrorist attacks," Netanyahu said, pointing an accusatory finger at the Palestinian Authority.
"I must say that the Palestinian Authority cannot shirk its responsibility for these kinds of incidents as long as incitement there continues," the premier said. "The murderers must understand that this won't help them."
On a visit to Psagot Sunday afternoon, MK Yoni Chetboun (Bayit Yehudi) said that the release of terrorists by the government would only encourage more terrorism.According to this report, the government is reconsidering:
Chetboun was in the town in the wake of the attack on 9-year-old Noam Glick. Glick was shot Saturday night in the neck at close range. The girl was badly injured, but is in good condition after surgery. [...]
“Terrorism is rearing its head, and it is impossible not to see this in the context of the two previous shootings in the past few weeks,” Chetboun said, referring to the shootings of two IDF soldiers by Palestinian Authority (PA) terrorists in recent weeks.
As Glick was shot and the soldiers were killed, Chetboun said, the government was busy negotiating Israeli concessions with the PA. “The State of Israel has been reminded yet again that while we have been discussing peace, our “partners” are discussing war,” he said. “Releasing murderers has acted as a 'lubricant,' an encouragement, to the motivation of terrorist organizations. Terrorism will not be stopped with gestures, but with deterrence. When the State of Israel freed murderers, terrorists feel free to act. It is our responsibility as Members of Knesset, to stop this folly of releasing murderers; unfortunately we are seeing the results blossom in front of our eyes,” he said.
Energy and Water Minister Silvan Shalom, who is a member of the ruling Likud faction, told Israel Radio on Sunday that more attacks like the incident in the Psagot settlement that left a nine-year-old girl lightly wounded would prompt the government to reconsider its decision to free Palestinians who served lengthy jail sentences for violent crimes committed against Israelis.I'm afraid this is a limp response. The terrorists shouldn't be released at all as punishment for the current acts of violence. They have to cancel the decision immediately, otherwise they just send the signal that they're not brave enough to do it.
California Paves The Way For Islamic Misogyny/Polygamy: New Law Says Children Can Have More Than Two Legal Parents
From the Blaze:
Democratic California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a piece of legislation into law Friday allowing children in the state to have more than two legal parents.
The measure, authored by a Democratic state senator, was aimed at upgrading the law to reflect supposed modern changes in the family structure. For instance, same-sex couples who use a member of the opposite sex to produce, would fall under this category.
“Courts need the ability to recognize these changes so children are supported by the adults that play a central role in loving and caring for them,” Sen. Mark Leno (D), who authored the bill, said, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The immediate impetus of this may have been INFLUENCED by the situations of same-sex couples and their unnatural reproduction habits, but the real end of this law will be fully realized when Polygamy is legalized so that Muslim men may own whole harems full of women.

IRANIANS ARE STILL CHANTING "DEATH TO AMERICA"
Even after their latest head honcho's so-called outreach at the UN, there's still a lot of anti-Americanism running rampant back in Iran:
Update: even the White House press secretary Jen Psaki admits that Iran still has their nuclear plans in place. And John Bolton wrote about how Hassan Rouhani is playing Obama.
TEHRAN, Iran — Iranians chanted “Death to America” and burned the U.S. flag after weekly prayers in Tehran on Friday despite their new president’s outreach to the West and promises of moderation and easing of tensions with the outside world. What groundbreak? The man's a taqqiya specialist, and is still building nuclears, so the AP Wire is doing nothing more than paying lip service to a tyrant. How pathetic.
The chants, customary after Friday services in the Iranian capital, reflect the challenges facing President Hassan Rouhani as he tries to build on the groundbreaking exchanges with Washington that included a telephone chat last week with President Barack Obama — a gesture aimed at ending three decades of estrangement between the two countries.
Update: even the White House press secretary Jen Psaki admits that Iran still has their nuclear plans in place. And John Bolton wrote about how Hassan Rouhani is playing Obama.
BIZARRE SHOOTOUT AT WHITE HOUSE?
Who knows what prompted Miriam Carey, with a child passenger, to try to drive into the White House and subsequently lead police on a chase with deadly consequences for herself? Was she just deranged? Was she a terrorist probing security during the government shutdown? Or was she the Presidents lover? Is the child President Obama's Lovechild? We may never know...
MORE ABOUT WHAT THE AL-MADINAH MADRASSA IN DERBY IS LIKE
In an update for this earlier report about the madrassa in Derby, Soeren Kern at Gatestone Institute has more insight:
Girls as young as four are required to sit at the back of the classroom, behind the boys, regardless of whether they can properly see the chalkboard. Girls must also wait for all the boys to get their lunches before they can eat.So what have we here but pure abuse of the public's tax pounds. And it's not just Haredis who demand that women sit in the back of a bus. Here, it's a case of Muslim girl students being ordered to sit at the back of a class, and even prevented from getting their lunch before the boys do. Truly awful.
When teaching children the alphabet, staff are prohibited from associating the letter 'P' with the word "pig." Female staff are banned from wearing jewelry and are instructed to avoid shaking hands with male teachers to prevent "insult." Naturally, all non-halal food is outlawed at the school.
The revelations about the un-British goings-on at the Al-Madinah School -- some staffers have compared the working conditions at the school to "being in Pakistan" -- are fueling outrage over what some are describing as underhanded attempts to establish a parallel Islamic education system in Britain.
Critics say the school -- which originally marketed itself as an "inter-faith" school in order to qualify for taxpayer monies -- promised that at least 50% of its students would be non-Muslim. Now that it has obtained £1.4 million (€1.7 million; $2.25 million) in government financing, however, the administrators of Al-Madinah are switching gears by operating the school according to Islamic law, apparently to ensure that the school will be 100% Muslim.

PERVERTS TRIED TO PROFIT FROM LETTER WRITTEN BY NIDAL HASAN
A disgusting scandal involving a letter written by the Ft. Hood jihadist came up:
Update: in related disgusting news, it turns out that Hasan gave his wages away to "charity":
Sparked by the recent online sale of a letter signed by Fort Hood, Texas, shooter Nidal Hasan, a U.S. senator from Texas has proposed a law against selling items linked to famous killers, dubbed “murderabilia.”What kind of crackpot would dare to make blood money off of an abomination written by a murderer? Such items are for criminology research, not for profiteering. It's bad enough that the government turned its back on Hasan's victims. We don't need felons making money selling to other people who could be very vicious in turn.
A prison letter from Hasan to a criminology student recently sold for $2,000 on darkvomit.com, a self-described gallery of macabre and outsider art.
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, introduced a bill Sept. 19 to block high-profile criminals from profiting from the sale of artwork, letters and other memorabilia by serial killers, mass murderers and others convicted of heinous crimes.
“Every day, the family members of victims are forced to re-live their tragedies as prisoners attempt to make a profit off of the notoriety of their case by selling these items on gruesome web sites,” Cornyn said in a statement.
The idea of Cornyn’s bill is to stop a criminal from being able to mail an item with the intention that someone, somewhere makes a profit — not necessarily just the prisoner himself, the Austin American-Statesman reported.
Update: in related disgusting news, it turns out that Hasan gave his wages away to "charity":
Nidal Hasan collected nearly $300,000 in his military salary while awaiting trial for the 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, but his attorney said nearly all of it has been given to charity — likely making it impossible for his victims to get any of it.I wouldn't be surprised if it went to Islamic institutions, who don't deserve it. This illustrated perfectly how vile a creature Hasan really is.
An Army spokesman said the military can’t get back the money because Hasan, like any other service member charged with a crime, continued to receive his military salary until he was convicted last month.
“The great bulk of his income has been donated to charity,” said John Galligan, Hasan’s civil attorney. Galligan wouldn’t disclose any information about the charities or proof that donations had been made. “There’s really virtually no money in any bank that I’m aware of,” Galligan said. “There’s really no property holdings.”
[...] Reed Rubinstein, an attorney helping victims sue the government, said he was exploring ways to get any money or assets he could out of Hasan. But he acknowledged that those efforts might not succeed.
“We have no way of knowing what he did with that money,” Rubinstein said. “It’s quite possible and likely that the money is long gone.”
CHANGES IN AMERICAN JEWRY THAT AREN'T FOR THE BETTER
According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, 1 in 5 Jews in America say they no longer feel any attachment to the similarly named religion. But the most galling part comes at the end of this article:
The poll says that Orthodox Judaism could be growing in the USA. Unfortunately, this poll overlooks something that, as any realist would admit, is not good news: the "Orthodox" they speak of could very easily include Haredis like Satmar, Bobov, Skver, and even, worst of all, Neturei Karta. If there's anybody allegedly Orthodox who could be especially negative towards Israel, it's them. Why, they could even be the exact reason why anybody left the Orthodox stream, as their isolationist, negative-to-women/abuse victims approach can make abundantly clear. After reading about what some former members went through, I can't blame most defects for becoming disillusioned with Judaism. Even non-Haredi Orthodox aren't saints and have made terrible mistakes that could rightly or wrongly discourage people from religion. They have a chance to change that, and they'd be advised to do so ASAP.
An interesting find in the polling also says that:
Unfortunately, going back to an earlier point, some of the pollees have a very poor grasp of reality:
And again, based on what I've stated above, for anyone who considers Orthodoxy the most recommended sect, is this good news that it could be growing in the USA? The sad answer is "no". The Satmar, to name but some, are giving Judaism/Orthodoxy a bad name, abusing tax dollars and villifying victims of child abuse, proving to be potentially worse than the Reform. It's kind of ironic that the Satmar may not like the company of the Reform and vice-versa, because their opinions on Israel coincide. I suppose that's the only good part of all this, that their dislike for each other's MOs might be what keeps them from collaborating in their efforts to delegitimize Israel. Then again, it would surely be naive to think they couldn't.
Perhaps the most important discovery lies in a little detail about how Jews see themselves. The following data point reveals just how far Jews have come in the U.S., not only in terms of their own position, but in terms of their ability to think critically and compassionately about other minorities: “Jews think several other minority groups face more discrimination than they do.” More than 70 percent of respondents said gays and lesbians face a lot of discrimination in American society, and an equal number recognized that Muslims are also discriminated against. But fewer than half—only 43 percent—said they believe Jews face a lot of discrimination. They may have left religion, but not their leftist politics. I have a hunch that, if this polling has any meat to it, they would never even dare suggest Muslims would discriminate against gays and lesbians.
An interesting find in the polling also says that:
According to the Pew results, among those who define themselves as Jews by religion, just over half consider Jewish identity “a matter of ancestry and culture,” with a majority considering belief in God to be unnecessary to be considered a Jew. Belief in Jesus as the messiah, however, still constitutes a disqualification for being described as Jewish for most respondents. If this means they feel their race should come first and their religion second, that's actually a worthy way of viewing things. Personally, even I've pondered that a sufficient distinction is needed even on matters of being of the Jewish race and its founding religion.
Among those polled as a whole, 62% said “being Jewish is mainly a matter of ancestry and culture,” as opposed to only 15% who considered it a “matter of religion.”
Unfortunately, going back to an earlier point, some of the pollees have a very poor grasp of reality:
Seven in 10 Jews said they considered themselves either very or somewhat attached to Israel, and over 40% of Jews surveyed stated that they had visited the Jewish state. Not the other way around? In that case, I'm almost wondering if I should really care about people who think Islamofascists are even remotely worth concern.
However, just under 40% consider Israel to be making “sincere” efforts in making peace with the Palestinian Authority.
