    curls...

reliefs at ubin during 'free' lunch. ohps.

whoa its finally a day which i can really wake up at a time other than 6am. been doing it for the past 6 days. what a nice day except i am suffering from a slight muscle ache for not exercising for some time.

yup. the pre-session for cruls was yesterday when we met up woth our benefialries, those with intellectual disablity. before we interacted with our kids, we are a short lesson from a volunteer whom had worked at such organisations for years. its really a very enlightening lesson when we are taught how should we really be interacting with them and the part where i have one of my legs tied up and i have to hop around to make my way through those obstacles and the whole group aren't suppose to talk to pass on messages. i can really understand their pain physically and mentally. if i don't have my group members to help me out physically and encouraging me on the way to complete the task, its really going to be a very painful experience to really go through.

so after that session, i gain some confidence and was determined to really work well with my beneficialry. before that, i was already paired up with my kid aswad, who was like slightly bigger in size than me and look very frightening in a sense. so slowly i tried to engage him in conversations. it was pretty hard since he was always with his other friends in the group and we are suppose to keep an eye on them. and the worst case senerio happens. he went missing after lunch after i had a long talk with one of my friend. so i went with the leader of the group to look for him and luckily, we found him within 5 minutes. ahhh. made me quite worried actually. he ended up taking a walk with his friend from the other groups. omg. so we made him promise to inform us when he is leaving away from us.

and so we went off for kayaking. its hard to really coordinate our moves and i have to be really patient in repeating my instructions. but luckily it turned out pretty well. oh yeah. to form a raft, the other group members waited for us to complete 2 'orbits' before reaching the correct position. muahaha. but after that we were pretty quick after i took the back position and controlled the direction after learning the different tactics. a pretty nice experience actually. though it rained, the kayaking session somehow broke part of the barrier between me and him and we are slightly more comfortable with each other now. the fear just somehow vanished from me in interacting with other kids in my group.

this is really a very enriching experience which is very hard to express in words. waiting for the next session to come before the actual event near end june. next session is capsize drill. lets hope that my kid wouldn't be so tensed up. and more volunteers will be around this time. =) luckily my group have some of my other reliefs which really also helped me through this thing. don't regret taking part in this CURLs thing. its really challenge your limits. my limits to be more patient and overcome my fear of the unknown and also the beneficialries' limits to learn something totally new for them though they cant contain their excitement also haha. yeah man. a saturday burnt for something so meaningful and enriching. =) yup volunteer when you have the chance to. i shall perhaps look out for more volunteering then and also quickly master kayaking.

and today was also a pretty nice day. caught xmen3 with dai and free. though some main characters died, its quite an action packed show which somehow caught my attention. being someone who likes superheros since young when i watch basically power rangers every sat ohps, its really a pretty nice movie. was better than da vinci code in my opinion since the book is more engaging and poseidon too where xmen3 has a slightly better storyline. poseidon is a titanic-like show where its just climatic at every part to see them escaping though the father-daughter relationship is touching too.

and yeah i finally completed time crisis II! with 2 credits that is haha. what an accomplishment to me the freak who plays almost every week for half a year now muahaha. arcade freak i am. =) finished within 17 mins and ranked 6th. haha.

nice weekend. more meeting up to do. driving lessons starting. time to rest for school holidays and no more work. oh yeah! exercising time! =) lastly, guitar camp scheduled on 5th to 7th june. anyone interested to join in the hike or just go pop in? =)

    hols...

outside the shanghai famous tower with 1 of the olympic figure

woo hoo! finally school holidays are here. this means that my job is officially over as a relief teacher. lalala~

been a pretty nice day today with the usual 3 lessons with 3 different classes. going through test papers and questions and joking with them, letting them a bit no government in class haha. with them asking me whether its my last day or anything heh. though there are no gifts and so on, at least its nice to know that the sec3 class i took ages ago still remembers me haha. yeah given that i broke their chair. ohps. they give my friend a cake which wrote: do not share this cake with anyone! ps. anyone does not include ms mo and ms lim. muahahha. =P thats nice =) and my colleague got flooded with cakes and gifts today. at least for me memories is the best thing that i took with me for these 6 weeks of relief teaching. interacting with people, learning to be more patient and how to carry myself well and all those lifeskills actually. how people will look up to you, how to really gain their attention and respect and how really we should start appreciating the efforts of each teacher. teaching is really a challenging and tiring job but hey considering whether this path will be right for me. its a influential and protected job. given that i am quick tempered once things get out of hand, wonder this is a right path to take rather than those research or industrial job. will pretty need some guidance to decide on my future job.

visited the school next site, sajc back on wed when i was there to help arrange books for the trc since i had no lessons. now its pretty rv-ish with the building painted red and blue at some parts which includes water pipes -__-||. but its a pretty nice site actually. =) with now they going to have a track and the building is much better despite the smaller classrooms which have to accomodate 40 people. the science labs are pretty cool too. =) and library faces the track. thats going to be a nice place to hide around if i ever go back that is. very interested to see how the new site at boonlay will turn out in 2009/2010 given that they are going to take the land of 2 schools. omg. and my dear west coast site is given to css. hai. miss the reservoir. and yup suppose to publicise this 50th anniversary alumni dinner cum teachers' day dinner which cost 50 per person held at raffles city ballroom on 2 sep. interested parties please contact me.

having a volunteering thing tomorrow. a kayaking expedition! its called CURLs or challenge your limit. suppose to be paired up with beneficialry who is from like from the organisations and have a 5km kayaking trip from pasir ris to punggol i think. well since its like outdoors or something i sure it will be pretty nice. =) though i am not paired up with really those less fortunate people, at least i will still get a chance to interact with them and also know more people through this curls thing. =) san and da i am still waiting for a date to take our kayaking one-star. =P this should be really counted as my first time volunteering since they are mostly organised by school and so on, like somehow doing for the sake for the cip hours and perhaps this shall be something special to me. =) i shall see how it turns out tomorrow then. =)

well for now then, taking a good rest especially for my throat which is really overused these days and driving lessons next week for 3 times woo hoo! hope my instructor will be good then and i can get as many chops as possible muahaha. meanwhile i shall try and settle my final theory quickly. auto gear! =) signing up for student union camps for nus, who is going for that? =) have a good weekend ahead! =)

    status...

after 07 dinner at surf n turf. =)

just a status update after not updating for days. been too tired out by my work for the past week teaching stability, CRO, reed relay blah blah. i am dying out including those sec1 practicals. work energy power and logic gates coming up. i am so bored out by these chapters man though my sec3 class is pretty nice =) keep on seeing students everywhere i go in the west area. maybe i shall go visit the east area more often. =)

had a 07 dinner back then at surf and turf. this time all the gals turned up! then missing guys again. but nevertheless its been nice time meeting up with them, knowing how and what they are doing. more than half of them are heading to ntu now surprisingly. given that they mostly live in the east. but at least i will still have company in nus bah. looking forward to meeting more people in uni during those orientation and so on. =) nus sci fac! here i come! accepted online last night after thinking about it carefully between smu and nus. don't think that i will receive any scholarships for that course and somemore its just a too new environment for me to adapt in. somewhere where i will be forced to speak up even in times where no comments are required or snatching to speak up. that is just not so me to become like another max. and studying infocomm is well kind of difficult for me given that interest is not as strong as studying chemistry.

starting my driving lessons on the 29th! =) hoping that i can finish as fast as possible given the limited slots which i can book. some kiasu people just booked everyday of the week for the first 2 weeks of june which leads to a wide time gap. but anyway, lets hope that everything turns out fine and i don't destroy the gearbox haha. joked with my brother if i failed my test *touch wood!* i will step both the accelerator and the brake to destroy the gearbox for revenge. muahaha. that is so evil and bad la given a replacement of a gearbox requires thousand plus dollars =P. will be learning auto gear since now everything is going auto unless i go convert my license next time when required. hate clutch after reading through the final theory book.

for now, no more tv shows for me to catch anymore. survivor and amazing race is over and i don't really have time to catch more. thinking of whether to watch singapore idol since someone i know is in top28 i heard. whoa. =) for now, 1 more week to school holidays and end of my this 2 weeks of teaching! not that i don't like teaching but rather its tiring on a long term basis. teaching is more tiring than just sitting there and listening. imagine explaining 2 pages for more than half and hour. =X but satisfaction comes when they really understand the whole topic and working. =) should be my last job for now then. think i should decline the july job due to some personal reasons. =) awaiting for freedom to arrive. =)

    swim...

taken in couselling room. our color: red black white. =P
kudos to xueli the photographer. =P

whoa. back not long the next day i got an unexpected sms followed by a phone call on my way to the pool. reporting back to work on monday for another 2 weeks of work back at school again. blahx. so my nice break is disrupted but at least still getting the pay though i don't really work for money. just helping out. school is shifting in june to the sa site. another big shift till it shifts back to boonlay which is going to be extremely huge.

swim swim swim~ just keep swimming just keep swimming just keep swimming swimming swimming~ my favourite song from finding nemo. =) been trying to hit the pool as often as i can since i can't really run and weather not really that nice. now record 32 laps aka 1.6km. trying to improve till 60. love my current tan. =) though yb says i look like a fillipino maid from the back with my tanned skin. =X san we must go and swim more. =)

finally caught a movie after ages with vick and yb. also some catching up and crapping haha. caught poseidon which just released today. pretty reminded me of titanic which i caught back in p3 i think. just that this is the more unromantic one due to the lack of love stories. but there's also the touching part where the dad sacrifice for the daughter and his future son-in-law. imagine the love and bonding between them though the daughter is like always afraid and tensed up whenever she talks to her dad who is an ex-mayor, someone who is protective and decisive. despite really the lack of communication and understanding which is eventually reached, but still the love for his daughter really touch me down inside. just to let his daughter to be with her loved one, he went on a non-returnable journey which eventually saved others. wouldn't release too much details but hey time to reflect whether we have been nice to our parents. =)

haha so after that decided to be nice and waited for almost slightly more than an hour for my mummy to go home and have teabreak/dinner with her. =) asian kitchen was not bad. =) wanted to treat her but oh well she paid for it. maybe i should start looking for stuff for her for mothers' day as well as her birthday coming up. =) though we didn't like really talk much like what i do with my dad but at least well i did try and spend more time with her before i start on my working hectic life again. *gasp*

and yeah had my basic theory test today. horrible system down. did the old style of OAS shading. omg. waste of my time when we waited half an hour for them to fix the system to no avail and i completed the test in like 10 to 15 minutes for 50 questions. then still must wait for 3 days for the results, halting me from my booking of final theory test and practical lessons just in case *touch wood* i failed. but hoping the practical lessons will be kind of fun. =)

well perceptions of things and understanding of the person is certainly important to prevent any misunderstanding and also the way of expression of your idea. imagine if one just mention things in a matter which is so unlike of him/her, others will just get the wrong perception. but it boils down to the understanding of the person on a long term basis. first impression are normally not accurate of course. inaccurate perceptions of the person and the issue hence arises. it really takes time to know the person well enough. so a third party is required to help clear misunderstandings if any occurs. misunderstandings, impressions, perceptions, interpretation. thats still something for me to grasp well i suppose.

class outing tommorrow! =) happy vesak day everyone! =) shall start counting down again to the start of my job again. =X long weekend ahead! =)

    shanghai...

    the napfa pe teachers! =D

oh yeah! i am finally back dudes! =) finally uploaded the pe napfa teachers photo! well this is from the ubin trip on may day! it was extremely great! rented bikes and went through those sandy routes which are bumpy. so bumpy till i cant really see and control my bike till i have to stop haha. my specs can't seem to just stay in 1 place. woot! with great company comes great trip oh yeah. though it rained and we have to bike back quickly to the shop, we had fun taking the photos especially the one where gorilla and kingkong took with the pap poster. muahaha. thanks wenyou, ziyang, marco, choonfatt, xueli, huimin and cindy for such a wonderful trip! steep slopes, rushing down the slopes, maxicabing from jurong east to changi ferry terminal, the evil lunch, great. =) evil kingkong took uneven route for my group and make me running almost gear 1 throughout the journey muahaha. =) miss ya guys! rockclimbing or mountain climbing next? =)

and yeah back from shanghai just today. it was pretty okie though i didn't really enjoy myself much with the horrible traffic and the people weren't really that nice. the smoke and all those stuff. but at least i still manage to visit all those stuff which i should really visit. shopping is done too though i didn't really buy much haha. and the food is great! my 3 weeks of exercise is just wasted within these 5 days. =X think the best part should be taking the ferry down the huang pu jiang. =) though its really freezing and the river arent that clean, its just a pretty nice experience for a 1 hour right. and the dong fang ming zhu tower. great view. =) though i was starving and starving at that time and was hungry and cold, its still a pretty good experience. =) a free and easy tour is so different than a group tour. but still at least i spent 5 nice days with my family since it has been ages i went overseas with them due to studies or whatsoever. =) and best food eaten: jacks place in shanghai muahaha. followed by the famous xiaolongbao at chenghuangmiao. oh yeah =)

and now back in s'pore. holiday for me till my next job comes in july. time to quickly settle my driving and speaking of it my basic theory test is coming! wish me luck. =)
