Weekend...

Brrrrr! Its been freezing in Sydney! Even Lily and Molly have been curled up inside.... Took these photos yesterday.

Chocolate brownies...

I made these delicious brownies for my lovely grandfather, whilst not too pretty to look at, they oozed chocolate and were out of this world. We had 3 pieces left to enjoy with coffee on the weekend whilst checking samples, making choices, checking off things on my to do list. Kellie xx

Peony joy!

We popped into the flower markets on Saturday and couldn't resist all the gorgeous varieties of peonies that were available. You can see how many there are and the actual size of some of the flowers compared to Lily and Molly. So beautiful! Kellie xx

Weekend Dessert!

I made vanilla panacotta over the weekend and instead of passionfruit, i used mangoes and strawberries for a change. This dessert is one of Luke's favourites, and best of all, it takes about 5 minutes to get mixed up to be popped into the fridge. I just love summer fruits, i cannot wait for peaches and plums to come into season.

This morning

First bunches

Here is our first bunch of hydrangeas from the garden. They are little but nonetheless I find it very satisfying picking them for the first time. Also picked, were some lovely sweet peas that popped up after last year - such a wonderful surprise. Fingers crossed for more gorgeous blooms! Kellie xxx

Weekend cupcakes

Whilst things are busy at Ada & Darcy HQ's, it's never too busy to bake! I decided to make some cupcakes for a friend who has been telling me for weeks she would love one.

I intended to make lemon coloured icing until i realised that it had tipped out everywhere (oops) then thought lilac would be pretty. Sadly after putting too much pink in i think i kind of saved the colour from being quite revolting to this somewhat soft, muted tone! Its a bit of a funny colour but hopefully by throwing on a few sprinkles no one noticed! Kellie xx

Baking Time! Raspberry & White Chocolate Friands....

I quickly made these delicious raspberry and white chocolate friands yesterday afternoon whilst trying to work through a to do list that just seems to be getting longer! Ignore the chunks of icing sugar, i couldn't quite find the sifter so i had to improvise!

My lovely friend Tamara who is quite the baker always makes these and why they weren't anywhere near as good, Luke and I aren't too fussy and enjoyed them anyway. I'm not too good with following the recipe and these had about double the amount of white chocolate than they were supposed to have!

The recipe is below if you would like to try it.

Recipe:

125g fresh or frozen raspberries
185g butter, melted
6 egg whites
100g packet almond meal
1/2 cup plain flour
1 1/2 cups icing sugar mixture
100g white chocolate, chopped

Preheat oven to 180°C.

Lightly grease 8 x 1/2 cup capacity loaf friand pans.

Crush 1/2 cup (75g) of the raspberries, place in large bowl with butter, egg whites, almond meal, flour, sugar and chocolate, and mix until combined.

Pour evenly among prepared pans. Scatter with remaining raspberries.

Bake 25 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Stand 5 minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool.

Dust with icing sugar.

Bunches of blooms ...

Our lovely, what were little geraniums suddenly became out of control and needed a big trim. Consequently after a whole lot of cutting back on Sunday, i was left with lots and lots of gorgeous little bunches of flowers, I found all the little glass vases I had and popped them around our home... Below is a couple of bunches on the end of a side table with other bits and bobs.

I also noticed that our first hydrangea flower has come out! I was very excited to see it as our back garden feels a bit green, not too long before the green should turn into a whole lot of gorgeousness. It also means that many of my other favourite flowers will be almost available at the flower markets - spring/summer is always my favourite time of year!

Geraniums...

I was very excited to see over the weekend our gorgeous two geraniums have lots of blooms all over them. They are the most delightful tones of pink.

I have picked lots of bunches and placed them into little mismatched vases all around our home in interesting places. Here is a few bunches on our dining room table. Makes for a lovely look. Have a wonderful Tuesday. Kellie xx

Simple things...

Such a simple thing, chocolate and strawberries but absolutely delicious nonetheless. I made quite a few for Luke and I to enjoy yesterday and they were just what we needed after a busy day of shopping and doing quite mundane "stuff". Kellie xx

Early mornings

Couldn't sleep so moved some things around this morning, nothing like taking pictures early in the morning light, it always makes things look extra pretty. Shame I don't see that hour too often, i've become a terrible morning person. Kellie xx

My world...

Here's a few snippets into my world this past week.

Our room was such a mess. It was at the point where I couldn't find shoes, clothes, face products etc... I'd been meaning to do it for a while but it was so out of control i was putting it off. Bags and bags of clothes for vinnies later, I had have lots of organisation and space and my shoes were back in order. Amazing how such a horrid task can make you feel so good! Now I can wear two shoes that match!!

Yes, our room, much represented this kind of disorganisation!!



I'm getting a bit sick and tired of our white door. Pondering other options...

Darling Orchids ...

My fabulous Pop grew these darling orchids and sent this beautiful bunch home from me. Love them in my favourite Samantha Robinson vase. Always extra special when they come from someone so amazing in your life isn't it. I have so much to thank my grandfather for who has been a wonderful inspiration and support for all my dreams. Something old, something new

This gorgeous chair that I had updated for our home just arrived back from the polisher/upholsterer. This was a very old dark timber antique chair, the fabric was in tatters, it was missing 2 of the 3 tall detailing in the back of the chair. With a bit of TLC it has come up looking beautiful. Im so happy with it! The turquoise and gorgeous bold stripes are such a lovely look to a quite a traditional chair. Look at the before shot - yikes!

Time for baking...

It has felt of late, Ive been so busy that I haven't had a chance to bake a thing! The extra long Easter weekend provided some extra time so I quickly whipped these little cupcakes up! Delicious! Kellie xx
