Have a Spooky Night

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!

Our theme this month is PURPLE, BLACK, GREEN and ORANGE.  Show us your creativity using those four colors in your creation!

We are a JUST FOR FUN challenge and I hope you will play along for your chance to proudly display our Winner or Top 3 Badges.

This slimline card was created using Slim Line Have a Spooky Night Word Die by Picket Fence Studios. I started mixing Distress Oxide Inks (Villainous Potion and Spiced Marmalade) on mixed media paper then lined up the die cut and ran it thru my Big Shot machine.  I ran the die through the machine using black paper 3 more times then glued all the layers together.

I sprayed black cardstock with gold shimmer spray then scattered bat die-cuts overtop and ran thru the machine, I did the same with ghost die-cuts on vellum.

The background was created using Black Soot and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide spritzed with water.  When it was dry I gold shimmer spray and black acrylic paint spray overtop then set to work assembling the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you hop over to Get Creative Challenges for some inspiration from our fabulous Design Team!

Frankly ...

I love Hallowe'en and I love poking through my Hallowe'en images to find ones that I forgot I had, and this image is one of those.

I wish I knew where it came from, I've had it for so long I just don't remember so if anyone out there knows, I'd love to hear from you.

I colored Frank with Copics and decided to do something CAS with him. I used Twisted Citron and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide Inks to create the background and used a star stencil to brighten up the background.  I added the sentiment from Monster Mash by Sugar Pea Designs and used my trusty toothbrush with black paint and water to create the splatter, a few sequins and it's done.

I have a couple more images from the same line and will follow suit with this design and create a few more cards, easy peasy.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!

It's time for another fun and fabulous challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Anything Goes and our sponsor for this challenge is Dr. Digi's House of Stamps!

Since I LOVE Halloween, I chose to work with Spook (Boo) for this challenge.  I colored the image with Copic markers and added glossy accents to the eyes and mouth.  I went to work fussy cutting around the image (I really don't like fussy cutting) then started putting my card together with some black twine and Trick or Treat banner from Doodlebug.

Spooky Tree

A new month brings a new challenge at Get Creative Challenges!

Our theme this month is Black and Purple.  Show us your creativity using only those two colors!  You will have until October 31st to add your creation!

I started with using Multi Media Paper and Distress Oxide Inks (Black Soot, Shaded Lilac and Villainous Potion) to create the background. After that was done I spritzed with water and when it was dry I used Sheer Simmer spray in Gold.

The stamp set I used is from Darkroom Door called Twisted Tree. I stamped the images in VersaMark with black embossing powder.  To finish it off I added some sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by and make sure you hop over to Get Creative Challenges for some inspiration from our fabulous Design Team!

A Bit Batty

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is Anything Goes!

Our sponsor for this challenge is SheepSki Designs and Andrea has graciously offered 3 images to the lucky winner, thank you Andrea!

I chose to work with Bit Batty for this challenge since it's soooo close to Hallowe'en (my fave).  I used my Silhouette to print and cut the image and used Copic markers to color.  Next I created my background using the following Distress Oxide Inks, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Hickory Smoke, and Black Soot.

After blending the inks I sprayed with water then let it dry.  The sentiment is an old one and really didn't stamp that clear, the letters kinda run together.  Anyhoo .. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, sprinkled on the black embossing powder and went to work heat setting. After sticking the image on the card, my final step was spraying the card with  Frost sheer shimmer spray.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a safe and spooky Hallowe'en!

EEEEEK!

Ready for a new challenge over at Creatalicious Challenges?  Our theme as always is Anything Goes with an optional twist ... "Black & Purple".

Our sponsor for this challenge is CAS-UAL Fridays Stamps and the lucky winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to use in their store!

I have had this image for so long, I have no idea where it came from.  Honestly, I've had a page of Hallowe'en digis floating around for a couple of years that I had colored but never made them into cards, until now.

Copic markers were used to color the image then framed it with black cardstock.  The purple background paper is from the Candy Carnival collection by Doodlebug Designs and the striped paper is from my stash.

The sentiment is computer generated and cut out using Fishtail Die-cut. After assembling the card I added some sequins and one giant button with baker's twine.

Now it's your turn to show us your Back & Purple creations!  Make sure you check out the Design Team's creations for some inspiration.

Happy Meow-lloween

Well hello dear friends, time for another challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Since Hallowe'en is just around the corner, our theme for this challenge is Purple Black Orange Green.

Our fabulous sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps and Jodie has graciously offered a $12 voucher for the winner, thanks Jodie!

The image for my cards is Goofy Cat Halloween Pumpkin and goofy it is!!  In keeping with our theme, I used Copic markers to color the pumpkin green, goof cat orange and the itty bitty spider purple.  I used a chevron embossing folder on white cardstock, sprayed black mist on the front then started to add washi tape. As for the sentiment, I have no idea where it came from.

I hope you have as much fun with your creation as I did with mine and I look forward to seeing your creation!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios and oh my, she has some adorable images!

This image is Halloween Moon and I'm in love with this too cute image.  If you've been following, I've just started experimenting in creating my own backgrounds with distress inks and I am extremely happy with how this card turned out.  After removing the masking from the image I colored the two figures with Copic markers I created a sentiment banner with stamps from Hallow-scream by Close to my Heart.

I hope you join us, I look forward to seeing your creations!

Embossing Challenge at Creative Knockouts

It's time for another fab challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is EMBOSSING ... any kind of embossing!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Fabrika Fantasy and the lucky winner will receive 3 images of their choice!

I chose to work with Little Witch for this challenge since it's soooo close to Halloween!

Not only do you receive black and white .jpg and .png files, you also receive colored images in both .jpg and .png.  I decided to play with the color files for this challenge.

I placed the image in front of some Halloween subway art and printed it off.  I used scissors to cut around the image and and printed the October 31 sentiment and used distressed ink to give it an old vibe.

I used a chevron embossing folder on the black layer and attached the image and sentiment with foam squares.  To finish it off, I added some ribbon and a couple of Halloween embellies.

Here is another version of the colored image paired with digital Halloween paper.  There are so many things you can do with these images!

Have some fun and start creating, I'm looking forward to seeing your design!

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team and remember to leave them some love!

Fall Challenge at Creative Knockouts

The weather is changing and Fall is upon us with the beautiful colors and crisp weather, Autumn is my favorite time of the year!

Nice segue into announcing our new challenge at Creative Knockouts!  Our theme for this challenge is "Fall".  Our sponsor for this challenge is Sweet N Sassy Stamps and the lucky winner will receive a $10 gift certificate!

This cute little image is Cocoa's Candy Apple.  Back in the day when we went out trick or treating, we would often chant "Halloween Apples" at the door so when I saw this image my Halloween memories came flooding back.

I used my Copic markers to color this cute little image and added glossy accents to the bow and finished it off with a spray of pewter shimmer spritz.

Make sure you check out the amazingly creative creations from our Design Team then it's your turn to start creating!

Halloween Challenge at Digi Haven

It's Halloween Challenge time at Digi Haven!  I LOVE Halloween and am already planning out my decorations, I just wish my youngest would hurry up and plan his costume.  It was so much easier when they were younger and you just dressed them up in what you wanted them to be!

Okay, on to our challenge ... our sponsor for this challenge is Dilly Beans and Megan has graciously offered to provide the winner with 3 digis of their choice!

This image is Teeghan's Spider Frame 2 by Dilly Beans and I have fun working with this image, there are so many possibilities!  I colored her up with my copic markers then added glossy accents to the bow, spiker and her eyes.  I also added some purple rhinestones over a few of the black dots ... I'm thinking I should have used a brighter color.  The black and green/black dotted ribbon is from my stash, as well as Mr. Skeleton face!  It's kinda hard to see but I stamped "eek" on the bottom of the card and used silver embossing powder ... black just didn't show up very well.

For some wild inspiration, make sure to check out the Digi Haven's Design Team creations, you won't be disappointed!

Our sponsor for this challenge is MyGrafico and they are giving away one stamp set to the winner!  Make sure you check them out, they have a great collection of digital images, as well as a freebies!

The two colors I chose were purple and black, pretty obvious I know!  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out this coffin card.  I went through my Hallowe'en stash and found some purple and black netted ribbon as well as the rest of the embellies I used.  For something different, I used some googlie (hmm, is it googley?) eyes for the centre of the flowers and the charm is from The Charm Barn.   The label in the centre is from the Vintage Halloween Labels by MyGrafico.

My Grafico - It's not just for Digital Images, they have a whole sidebar full of wonderful things to enjoy. Grab a cup of coffee and a snack because you will find yourself spending some quality time at My Grafico.

Guest Designer & FREEBIE Challenge

Spooookkkkyyyy .... it's freebie time at Dude Time Doodles !
Not only do you get to get Billy Bat for FREE you will also have a chance to become a Guest Designer for a month! Make your way over to DTD for all the details on how to enter and while you're there, make sure you check out the Dudette Design Team's spooookkkkyyyy creations.
As I do every year, I create some sort of treat bags for my son's class. I'm afraid this will soon be coming to an end as I'm not sure if I can get away with it when he hits Grade 5, boo hoo.

I thought Billy would be cool for Grade 4 so I colored him up with my Copics, applied glossy accents to his eyes, red gem for his necklace, attached some ribbon and found Dracula brads in my stash that works quite well! The bat paper is by Funky Hand.
Of course, the most important thing is the candy. I used small plastic ziploc type bags from the dollar store and filled them up with some goodies. I make sure to punch thru the top of the plastic bag before putting it all together then fasten it up with the brads.

You know, the sad thing is that the kids (well, mainly the boys) don't even pay attention to the wrapping, they just wanna get to the candy!
I will be entering this treat "bag" in the following challenges:
Pile it on - Layer It
Lollipop Crafts - Eyelets or Brads
Scrap-Creations - Unique Fold
Ribbon Carousel - Get punny
Fab 'n' Funky - Bingo (Digi, Ribbon, 3 Layers)
