Long-Lasting Gradient Lips Tutorial

At some point in our  makeup application, we have tried gradient lips after seeing how gorgeous they look on K-Drama actresses.

I am definitely one of those!  But after going through various application techniques, I can't seem to create a similar one like those on K-Dramas!  Mine would look great after application but blotchy after an hour or so!  It is because I have extremely dry lips and I ended up licking my lips or lot or applying lip balm in between multiple times making my gradient lipstick effect slide down the drain!

After several tries, I finally created one that lasts longer, looks good and non-blotchy and I can finally say, long-lasting!

You don't need to use the same products I used but the same layering of products could be the same!

Simple Makeup Look for Mask Wearers

Hi AMW Friends!
I have done an FB Live for Make Up For Ever to do a makeup for mask wearers.  I used all Make Up For Ever products back then and this was actually done using random products I own at home.

Meaning, you can do this makeup look using your existing makeups!  You don't need to use the same makeup products I used but please watch the video and follow my simple steps!

a before and after photo of Simple Makeup Look for Mask Wearers

As much as eye makeup is the vital part of this type of makeup, I've decided to make it subtle still as a lot of you do not find applying makeup as a priority in these days and times.  As for me, I felt more confident covering my undereye circles and felt even more confident if I have a wash of color on my lids!  I picked a brighter eyeshadow makeup for this particular look because....everything has been gloomy since COVID-19 started.

I have never been so addicted to a powder puff in the past!  I always use the ones included inside the compact and just throw them away after I use up the product.

Yes, I don't keep memories with them, but I'm starting to see some attachment and love story between me and the Beauty Blender Powder Pocket Puff!

#ASKAMW Damp Sponge or Dry Sponge?

I was asked so many times on #AskAMW DM what's the difference between and damp sponge and dry sponge!

Finally, shared it on video the difference with demo how a foundation would look if you applied it WET or DRY.

Now, tell me, are you Team Damp or Team Dry?

Beauty Blender sponge was used on video, feel free to use any sponge!

How to: Quick and Easy "Glass Skin"

Glass Skin is now a craze!  I have never thought of getting into the bandwagon of creating one because who really appreciates Glass Skin?  Those living in North Pole and South Pole maybe?  Those who don't mind piling on serums, moisturizers, oil on top of that, adding more "glowing" makeup products to create that clear, luminous and glowing skin!

Then, recently, I've noticed that my makeup application is creating more "glow", I even caught a lot of you sending DMs to me over Instagram asking me to do a tutorial on "How to Create Glass Skin."

Baka "Accidental Glass Skin" is what you mean.  As I never intend to really have that Glass Skin effect, I'm just one busy gal who wants to cut-short my makeup routine and thus, created something really nice as an effect!

Would you believe that you can create Glass Skin with skincare (long term) but you can fake one with makeup?  I DID!  And best of all, it was a combination of Skincare + Makeup so my skin gets benefited from it!

My Version of a Glass Skin!

And you don't need gazillion products to create one!  All you need is a ---
1. Matte Foundation.
2. A Whitening Cream that gives instant whitening effect.

The products I picked to create this tutorial is The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation  and my newfound perfect-looking skin discovery - Esfolio Snow Whitening Cream!

Eureka Moment! The Original BeautyBlender is HERE!

8 years ago was the first time I touched the Original Beauty Blender when I was doing a shoot for a make up school I attended.  My foundation application has changed (for both myself and clients).  Through the years, I have this in my KIT and even repurchased this several times even with all the new brands coming in.

The Original will always be the original and mark my words for it!  It feels different and I can tell the difference even when blindfolded!

8 years after, imagine the happiness when The Original Beauty Blender is finally here in Manila?  Guys, not from resellers but officially distributed?  I was able to get 2 and they actually have other shades available!  (if you don't believe me, check out BeautyMNL!)

Unsung Hero: Benefit's Play Stick Foundation

I've done so many works for the brand Benefit Cosmetics.  And mind you, I know all their products by heart!  If you ask me, I have a lot of favorites and not-so favorites!  But I realized, there's one Benefit Product I felt didn't get the attention "it" deserves!  I've used this product so many times on shoot and on myself but realized I haven't done any proper review!  So please let me know if this is also the first time you heard about the product!

AMW Wore Her Favorite Benefit Product --- any guesses?
Definitely not hair product though my hair looks darn full in this photo!  *laughs*

AMW Reviews: Revlon PhotoReady Airbrush Mousse Makeup

The first ever airbrush (in a can) product that I came across with is called the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Spray.  I even wished they came up with something for the face!

And Sally Hansen did, unfortunately, it was never available in the local market.

Finally, a drugstore brand Revlon came up with one and it's readily available locally!

After weeks and weeks of usage, I'm ready to share my thoughts on this!

AMW Version: Fresh, Natural Look

Yay!  First AMW Version for the year 2011!  It has been taking me time to create tutorials lately because of the same reasons!  So before I go on blabbing, I've created a look perfect for office meetings or just regular day at work!  A fresh and natural look that spells "Prepared, Organized, Ready-to-face-the-day!".

This type of eye makeup I've done does not alter the shape of your eyes, there's no corrective styles done, instead, just played with neutral colors to give a well polished look!

AMW Diagram

Prior to eyeshadow application, I choose to brighten up the undereye area with The Body Shop's Lightening Touch.  You can choose to use your preferred eyeshadow base, in my case, since I don't have oily lids, I chose NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Yoghurt as an eyeshadow base!

Step 1:
In this tutorial, I am using all the colors of L'Oreal OpenEyesPro Palette in Beige Harmony.  Using a fluffy eye crease brush, I applied the lightest shade over the entire eyelid on top of my NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Yoghurt base.

Step 2:
Using a flat shader brush, apply the e/s (as pointed with the brush on photo below) onto the crease with a patting motion to create depth and dimension.

Step 3:
Using the same crease brush or even a smaller version of the brush, apply the pointy tip on the outer-V corner of the eyes!  Blend out harsh lines.
Step 4: (optional)
Since the L'Oreal OpenEyesPro palette is very shimmery and natural in person, I wanted to create more depth on the outer-v, in doing so, I am using MAC Mineral Eyeshadow Odd Bits (from MAC Colour Craft Collection). Adding more as  go on.

Do not forget to apply the same eyeshadow shade on the lower lashline.

Step 5:
Using the sponge applicator, I pat a bit of the gold shimmer on the inner 1/4 of the eye for that "wide awake" and "bright" look!

Step 6:
Apply ELF Cream Eyeliner in Black on the upper lash line.  You can choose to wing your eyeliner but I chose to make it  more natural.

Apply Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 1L on the waterline.

Curl your lashes and apply coats of your favorite mascara.  I am using my favorite Etude House Proof 10 Henna Fix Mascara in Black.  Fill in your brows with your favorite brow powder or pencil.  I am using Tears Line and Mode Autobrow in 04.

Other products used on the rest of my face

For the Face:
Avon Ideal Shade Liquid Foundation in Nude
with HD Makeup Blender Sponge.
Avon Ideal Shade Loose Powder to set

For the Cheeks:
DiorBlush #839 Vintage Pink - using the brush that comes with the palette
Clinique Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator - applied using fingers on areas I want to highlight (bridge of the nose and cheekbones)

For the Lips:
Daiso PE-3 Lipstick  - though drying, I am seriously in love with this shade! So Unique!
LipIce Color Gloss in Summer Pink

Show your best smile and you're ready to face any day!

Note to self: "I will, try to do more AMW Version!"
Hope this helps!  I am sure there's a whole lot of better versions out there!
*sigh* Life is fun with so many choices!

Enjoy Thursday!  I can sniff Friday like a dog!

Askmewhats Version: "Back with a Green Vengeance"

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I know I know!  I woke up on the different side of my bed because after 1 million and 1 years.... I've finally created the long lost "AMW Version".  A version of my own looks base on the current makeup I own!  I've had readers asking me about this and I'll say it for the last time, I got stuck with very important things since a very challenging trials that happened in my life last year!  That's the reason for the absence of "AMW Version", but now, it's back!  I'm not promising this to be a weekly thing, but it's good to finally do this again!  It was fun!

Back with Green Vengeance, I used green eyeshadows because I wanted to be back with an eyeshadow color that complements my natural eye color!  Most Filipinas can get away with a nice moss green shade!

I hope my diagram is still as nice as before!  I hope even better!

Step 1:
Primed my lids, extending to the rest of the products to the eyebrows and lower lash line with my newly purchased Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer.  Once dry, drawn my brows using Paul & Joe Eyebrow Pencil no. 4.  Applied The Body Shop Kajal Liner in Evergreen on the outer thirds of the lids blending with my ring finger.

Applied TBS Eye Colour no. 43 onto the lids going a bit beyond using my MAC's 217 brush or any blending brush.

Step 2:
Using a larger blending brush, blur out lines using Maybelline EyeStudio Light Peach eyeshadow from the Gold Nuggets Palette.

Step 3:
Using the same MAC's 217 brush, apply a deeper shade to "deepen" the crease area.  I applied MAC Heatherette's Cloudburst e/s on outer v for that "larger" eye look!  Make sure to blend in harsh lines.

Step 4:
Using the sponge applicator from the Maybelline's Gold Nuggets Palette, the white eyeshadow to highlight the browbone area and do not forget the inner corner of the eyes for that "bright" and "awake" look.

Step 5:
Using any gel liner/liquid liner of your choice, in my case, I am using Makeup Masala Gel Liner in Black on my upper lashline winging it a bit.

Applying Lancome's Le Crayon Khol in Noir eyeliner on the waterline and used Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencil in Yeyo near the tearduct area.

Open up your eyes, stand back and check your refection if you are happy with the look.  You can always apply more or blend more if needed.

Curl your lashes and apply coats of mascara.  In this tutorial, I used the new GlamBox Mink Lashes (which I will be reviewing soon).

Note:  If you have long and thick lashes, you can skip the falsies!  If you need to and you're afraid to try, click THIS LINK to see my tutorial on how to apply falsies.

What's on the rest of my face?

For the Cheeks:
Contour with MSF Natural in Dark
NYX Blush in Pinky on the apples of the cheeks

For the Lips:
MAC's Viva Glam V Lipstick

Okay, this may look natural on photos but this is not my regular makeup on office days!
But it's nice to play with makeup again on my own face after a long time!  I've been too lazy!  I'd rather put makeup on other gorgeous faces than plain 'ol boring mine! :)

So how do you like "AMW Version's" Comback?
