Chapter 4, Problem 1P, An amplifier has a gain of 15 and the input waveform shown in Fig. P4.1. Draw the output waveform.

Expert Solution & Answer
Check Mark
To determine

To draw:

The output waveform using input waveform and gain of the amplifier.

Explanation of Solution

Given:

Amplifier has a gain of 15 and input waveform shown below.

Basic Engineering Circuit Analysis, Chapter 4, Problem 1P , additional homework tip 1

Calculation:

For an amplifier, output voltage is product of gain and its input voltage.

  vo=Avin

  Wherevo=Outputvoltagevin=InputvoltageA=Voltageamplifiergain

In the given figure, calculate the output voltage by the above formulae at different time to form a graph.

At t=0 ,output voltage will be

  vo=15×(0mV)=0mv

At t=0.5s ,output voltage will be

  vo=15×(50mV)=750mV

At t=1s, output voltage will be

  vo=15×(150mV)=2250mV

At t=1.5s, output voltage

  vo=15×(50mV)=750mV

At t=2s, output voltage

  vo=15×(0mV)=0mV

The output waveform for the given input is shown below.
