4-story Gothic-revival residential building originally completed in 1851 as a 3-story townhouse, very similar to the neighboring building at 52 Jane Street. It was remodeled in the early 1900s to provide a basement entrance, framed in orange brick. The rest of the basement is limestone, with red brick upper floors. The windows align perfectly, except for those of the parlor floor; which were raised to sill height when the stoop was removed. The original stone lintels remain, but the bracketed roof cornice was added later in the 1800s.
