This regional conservation area was established as Canada's first nature sanctuary in 1958. The park offers outdoor activities in a natural setting. The park was named for the frigate HMS Thetis, which had been assigned to Esquimalt as part of the Royal Navy's Pacific Squadron.
The park's facilities include several beaches, forest trails, parking, washrooms and a concession. Hiking trails connect to Francis/King nature centre and Mill Hill Regional Parks.
