New Parts Kits for Benjamin 392/397 Multi Pump Air Rifles.

Archer Airguns has introduced a new range of parts kits for Benjamin 392 and 397 multi pump air rifles. These kits make it easy to find the parts you need to repair or reseal an old Benjamin multi pump pellet gun.

The first products are a seal kit and a screw kit. There's also a replacement valve available.

These kits fit Benjamin 392 and 397 air rifles manufactured since 1997 that have plastic trigger assemblies. They also fit “Phase 1” air rifles manufactured between 1995 and 1997 with the old style trigger.

These kits do not fit the old “soldered valve” models manufactured before 1995.

The Archer Airguns 2X Seal Kit for Benjamin 392 and 397 Air Rifles contains the following parts:

2 x Bolt probe O ring, .22 cal, Part 970-028
2 x Bolt Probe O ring, .177 cal, Part 397-062
2 x Valve O ring (front), Part JTX-080
2 x Valve O ring (inside), Part 397-037
1 x Check Valve, Part 1322-056
1 x Exhaust Valve Assembly, Part 397-038
2 x Valve O ring (rear), Part 397-036
1 x Piston pump cup/seal, Part 397-025

The Archer Airguns Screw Kit for Benjamin 392 and 397 Air Rifles contains:

2 x Windage Screw, Part 397-031
1 x Elevation Screw, Part 397-030
2 x Screw, Part 397-061
1 x Bolt Locking Lug, Part 397-044
2 x Screw, Part 38-117
2 x Cam Face Screw, Part 397-059
1 x Stock Screw, Part 397-041
1 x Stock Lug, Part 397-042

The Valve Assembly for Benjamin 392 and 397 air rifles is a current production Crosman Part Number 397B032.

This valve fits most models manufactured since 1995, including the Phase 1 models, having a separate, non-soldered valve. Generally, if your air rifle has a plastic trigger and trigger guard, this valve will fit. This valve can be used as a direct replacement for valves with part numbers 397A032 and 397-032.

Fiber Optic Front Sight Repair Kit Fits Many Air Rifles.

New at Archer Airguns is a repair kit for fiber optic front sights.

If you have broken fiber optic front sights or are worried about them breaking, this kit could be for you!

This repair kit provides parts and instructions for repairing broken fiber optic front sight elements on many air rifles. It has been tested to work with most Umarex air rifles such as the Octane, with most Ruger air rifles including the Air Hawk, with Beeman RS-2 air rifles and many Crosman air rifles such as the Optimus and 760 models. It also fits the QB78 Deluxe.

The photo below shows the typical appearance of front sights that can be repaired with this kit.

Nine fiber optic rods are included as - given the exposed nature of these front sights - it’s likely that their fiber optic elements will be broken repeatedly!

The high quality fiber optic rods included in this kit are much brighter than the factory originals. They also make it possible for you to change the color of a fiber optic front sight if you don’t like the factory color. Red, orange and green rods all are included in this kit.

Note that each rod will be suitable for making two repairs on short front sights, such as those fitted to the Ruger Air Hawk and Beeman RS2 air rifles.

The only tools required are a controllable heat source, such as a lighter, and small end cutters.

With the Archer Airguns Repair Kit for Fiber Optic Front Sights, you will be able to change quickly and easily from this...

to this, with bright red, green or orange fiber optic elements.

Genuine Benjamin Air Rifle Slings Now Available

Wow!!! Apologies for the long time since the last post. The Christmas rush was incredible and it lasted into January...

We also have some new products added to the Archer Airguns online store, one of which is a genuine Benjamin air rifle sling.

This Benjamin sling fits directly to Benjamin break barrel air rifles featuring a forward loop mount and rear swivel base.

Constructed of 1-inch wide black synthetic webbing with a wide padded section bearing the Benjamin logo. This sling makes carrying an air rifle in the field much easier and safer.

The Benjamin air rifle sling can be used with Marauder air rifles with the addition of a set of 1-inch sling swivels. (Actually, you only need one sling swivel as one is supplied with this sling).

There's more new stuff coming shortly. Thanks for your patience!

Now it's Easy to Reassemble Benjamin Marauder and Discovery PCP Air Rifles

One of the biggest problem when resealing a Benjamin Discovery or Marauder air rifle is how to prevent the valve and gauge port O rings from being clipped during reassembly.

It's almost impossible to prevent this damage as the new O rings swell out into the gauge port hole in the tube and then are cut in that area as they push further into the tub past the hole. These cuts almost inevitably lead to leaking - which is often why the gun was taken apart in the first place, of course!

Now Archer Airguns offers a solution to this issue. It's the Filler Plugs for Benjamin Marauder and Discovery air rifles.

In the factory, Crosman uses a jig that closes the gauge port hole when the valve and Gauge Port are installed. This prevents damage to these O rings during assembly.

These new Filler Plugs provide a much simpler - and cheaper - method of achieving the same effect.

The Filler Plugs are precisely-sized, er, fillers that are used to close the gauge port hole during reassembly.

Above, the Filler Plug for Marauder Air Rifles.

The Filler Plug is simply held in place by hand when reinstalling the valve and gauge port, keeping the O rings depressed as they are pushed down past the gauge port hole. Simple but effective!

There's one Filler Plug to fit the Benjamin Marauder Air Rifle, a second version fits the Benjamin Discovery and Crosman Challenger 2009 air rifles. They're identified by an embossed "M" or "D" in the underside of the Filler Plug.

Above, the Filler Plug for Discovery.

The illustrations shown here are CAD files of the parts. The real ones are solid black and very difficult to photograph!

You can see the Marauder Filler Plug here http://www.archerairguns.com/Gauge-Port-Filler-Tool-for-Benjamin-Marauder-p/mrodfillertool.htm

The Discovery Filler Plug is at http://www.archerairguns.com/Gauge-Port-Filler-Tool-for-Benjamin-Discovery-p/discofillertool.htm

New Benjamin Marauder Parts Kits From Archer Airguns.

In the past few weeks, Archer Airguns has added a number of new products to it's increasing coverage of Benjamin Marauder parts kits. These new kits are for the Marauder air rifle, some of them are listed here for your interest...

Now we have complete Crosman factory valves for the .25 cal Marauder air rifle. These valves can also be used in the .22 and .177 cal Marauder air rifles as a way to increase the muzzle velocity of the gun- although of course, they suck up a LOT more air with every shot and your shot count will fall.

The .25 cal valve should be used with the corresponding high flow transfer port sleeve. These Marauder high flow transfer port sleeves are also now available.

Also new are Marauder air rifle screw kits. These fit the "first generation" Marauder air rifles. Yes, I know that we mentioned them before, but here's a second airing as they are proving very popular with Marauder parts buyers!

Marauder Screw Kit A includes many of the "internal" screws for the Mrod. including:
4 x Trigger Side Plate Screws, Part 1763-056
4 x Trigger Assembly Retaining Screws, Part 1763-035
1 x Hammer Setscrew, Part 1763-022
1 x Bolt Catch Retaining Screw, Part 1763-024
3 x Valve Securing Screws, Part 1763-019

Marauder Screw Kit B has a number of the most useful "external" screws for original Marauder air rifles, including:
2 x Breech Locating Screws, Part 1763-027
1 x Stock Screw (blued) Screw, Part 1763-029
2 x Barrel Band Screw, Part 1763-023
2 x Barrel Setscrews, Part 1763-021
1 x Shroud Setscrew, Part 88-089

And don't forget Archer Airguns aftermarket single shot trays for the Benjamin Marauder air rifle! These are available for all three calibers and you can see more details here.

New Screw Kits and More Parts for Benjamin Marauder Air Rifles

Archer Airguns has recently introduced several new parts kits for Benjamin Marauder air rifles.

Among these kits are two sets of screws for the Marauder. These are for the "version 1" or "old model" of the Mrod, not the guns with the latest synthetic stock. We find these screws handy to have around as part of our Reseal Service for Benjamin Marauder air rifles and I'm sure that the same will be true for the many people who enjoy working on their own guns.

Screw Kit A for Marauder Air Rifles
comprises screws associated with the trigger assembly, the valve securing screws and a couple of others.

There are:
4 x Trigger Plate Side Screws, Part 1763-056
4 x Trigger Assembly Retaining Screws, Part 1763-035
1 x Hammer Set Screw, Part 1763-022
1 x Bolt Catch Retaining Screw, Part 1763-024
3 x Valve Securing Setscrew, Part 1763-019

The photo below shows these parts.

Screw Kit B for Marauder air rifles, has mainly screws associated with the breech assembly, together with replacement stock and barrel band screws.

These are:
2 x Breech Locating Screws Screws, Part 1763-027
1 x Stock Screw, Part 1763-029 (blued)
2 x Barrel Band Setscrews, Part 1763-023
2 x Barrel Setscrews (fit in breech), Part 1763-021
1 x Shroud Setscrew, Part 88-089

Also now available as spare parts are a complete Marauder trigger assembly, this also fits the Crosman Chellanger 2009 PCP air rifle.

But wait, there's more! There's also the Marauder Gauge Adapter. This fits the Benjamin Discovery as well.

More Parts Kits Available for Crosman and Benjamin PCP Airguns

A variety of new parts kits are now available from Archer Airguns to help you fix Crosman and Benjamin PCP airguns that are in need of a little TLC.

Now in stock is the Crosman Challenger 2009 PCP Air Rifle valve assembly. This comes complete with the two O rings and valve stem seal assembly. This is Crosman part number CH2009-030.

Also for the Challenger 2009 is a kit of the tiny stainless steel balls and very delicate O rings that are used in the T Handle of the Challenger 2009. These parts are very easy to loose when working on the Challenger - trust me, I know! - and this kit provides a simple way to acquire two sets of these parts. Two bolt probe O rings are also included. The Archer Airguns T Handle Repair Kit for Challenger 2009 PCP Air Rifles looks like this...

The Benjamin Discovery Valve Stem Assembly - Crosman Part 1761A140 - fits the Disco as well as the Challenger 2009.

And last, but not least, there's the Valve Stem Assembly for Benjamin Marauder Air Rifles and Pistols. This fits all models of the Marauder, including the first and current (synthetic stock) model Mrod air rifles.

Hopefully these parts kits - in addition to the others already available - will be useful for those of you working on your Crosman and Benjamin PCP air rifles.

Happy Labor Day to all!

Single Shot Trays Now Available for Benjamin Marauder in .25 Caliber.

New from Archer Airguns is a .25 caliber single shot tray for the Benjamin Marauder air rifle. This allows the .25 caliber Marauder to be fired in single shot mode, without the need for a clip. It fits both the original and new model Marauders. You can buy yours at Archer Airguns.

The illustration above sis a CAD image of the tray, for clarity of illustration.

These trays are manufactured from a nylon 12 material called "Duraform PA". This was selected for its durability, precision and capacity for repeatable use. Manufacturing is undertaken using a high end "additive manufacturing" process.

The color is flat black and the caliber is marked on either side of the tray for ease of identification in use. The design also includes a built-in "safety ring" that mitigates the issue of pellets falling back into the hammer assembly by accident.

Please note that this tray fits from the left side of the breech (the opposite to the Benjamin OEM part).

Archer Airguns single shot trays for Benjamin Marauder air rifles are also available in .177 and .22 calibers.

At Last! A Degassing Tool for the Benjamin Discovery is Finally Available.

For ages, there has been no commerically-available degassing tool for the Benjamin Discovery air rifle.

Now this omission has been rectified with the appearance of Archer Airguns Degassing Tool for Benjamin Discovery.

Again, it's easy to safely and conveniently release the pressure from your Benjamin Discovery air rifle if required for storage or when changing "fuel" from CO2 to High Pressure Air (HPA) or the reverse.

This simple tool allows you to de-gas (depressurize) your Benjamin Discovery air rifle. It fits both .22 and .177 cal. models. It's supplied complete with instructions, which are reproduced below...

First, Simply engage the screw thread of the Degassing Tool in the threaded hole in the rear of the Discovery’s Tube Plug (Part 17 in the Crosman parts diagram for the Benjamin Discovery).
TIP: A drop of light oil on the threads in the Discovery’s Tube Plug before inserting the Degassing Tool will make rotation much easier!

Next, Rotate the degassing tool clockwise until you feel pressure (about 2 1/2 inches of thread depth into the tube).

Now, further rotation of the Discovery Degassing Tool will push the hammer forward against the valve stem and release the pressure in the gas tube. You will hear a loud “hiss” as the air exhausts from the gun through the muzzle (with the bolt closed, or through the breech with the bolt open).

Rotate the Degassing Tool clockwise a little more until no more hissing is heard.

Now check the pressure gauge in the underside of the Discovery to confirm that all pressure has been removed from the gun.

Rotate the Degassing Tool counter-clockwise until it can be removed from the gun.

Point the air rifle in a safe direction, cock the bolt and pull the trigger. The gun will go “click”, confirming that there’s no remaining air pressure in the Discovery.

That's it! Your Benjamin Discovery is now depressurized.

New Archer Airguns Universal Muzzle Brake for Airguns With 15mm Diameter Barrels.

Just introduced is a new, improved muzzle brake from Archer Airguns, with two setscrews for more secure fixing.

This universal muzzle brake is CNC-manufactured from solid steel with a deep blued finish. The length is 4-inches and outside diameter is 0.855-inches. Weight is approximately 6 ounces. It's supplied with 2 setscrews and a hex wrench.

Apart from looking very cool, this muzzle brake usually makes a significant improvement in accuracy of an airgun by reducing barrel harmonics when the gun is fired.

This solid steel, blued muzzle break fits a huge number of air rifles and pistols having the very common 15mm diameter barrel (15mm is .0590 inches, approximately 19/32-inch), including the following models:

- Beeman 1073, Grizzly, Kodiak and similar air rifles.
- Ruger Air Hawk and Blackhawk.
- Crosman Optimus, Quest and Phantom air rifles.
- Stoeger X10 and X20.
- QB78 Deluxe, QB79, AR2078, AR2078A, AR2079 air rifles.
- Tech Force TF79, TF89, TF78T and TF78GS air rifles.
- Benjamin Trail NP air pistol.

Installation may require an existing front sight to be removed from the barrel, so it’s suitable for use only if a scope or red dot sight is fitted to the airgun. Many plastic sight assemblies can be removed by first backing-out the clamping setscrews (if fitted), carefully warming the part with a domestic hair dryer (NOT a heat gun) and driving off using a piece of soft wood as a drift.

The Archer Airguns Universal Muzzle Brake is NOT a silencer or suppressor. It makes no change to the report of the airgun. It's in stock now for immediate shipment.

New Low Cost Adjustable Buttplate for Benjamin Marauder Gives Improved Cheek Weld.

For those of you wanting a low cost solution to improving cheek weld with the first generation Benjamin Marauder air rifles, this new Marauder adjustable buttplate may be of interest.

This kit is a direct replacement for the factory rubber buttpad on the original Marauders (Models BP1763, BP2263 and BP2563). It just screws on. Our testing has found that it gives much improved cheek weld - and hence enhanced practical accuracy when shooting.

Here's some photos.

Please note that the original buttpad is attached to the stock before the wood is finish sanded. Obviously our adjustable buttplate for Marauder cannot benefit from such treatment and so there will inevitably be a small mis-match against the profile of the wood - as is the case with other aftermarket buttplates. But, the match is actually very good and it's most of our testers have found it very acceptable. The photos give a good idea of this.

And the price? It's just $19.99. Definitely very acceptable!

Archer Airguns Repair Center Provides Test Results

Every CO2 and PCP air rifle resealed by the Archer Airguns Repair Center is returned to its owner with a comprehensive repair docket signed by the repair specialist undertaking the reseal. This repair docket outlines every step of the repair that was undertaken, together with the results of the post-repair testing and comments on the internal state of the gun. A sample is shown above.

One interesting finding to date is the amount of corrosion being found during Benjamin Marauder PCP air rifle repairs. Surprisingly, this is not corrosion to the gas tube, but is most usually most evident on the non-ferrous gauge block inside the tube. Conversations with owners strongly suggests that this corrosion is being caused by humidity in the fill air, usually by filling from a hand pump with no moisture trapping capability. In the worst cases, we have felt it best to replace parts because of this - with the customer's agreement, of course. All replaced seals and parts are returned with the resealed gun, giving the owner further confidence in the quality of the repair.

So, if you're filling your Benjamin Marauder from a hand pump, it's clearly the best policy to choose a pump having a moisture trapping capability, particularly if you live in a State that has high humidity levels in the air.

Archer Airguns is also an authorized Crosman Service Center specializing in repair services to Marauder, Discovery, and Challenger PCP air rifles.

Uniquely, Archer Airguns repair services can be ordered online without the need for tedious telephone calls and estimates. We offer transparent pricing and a guaranteed turnaround time for repairs.

The standard turnaround time is 15 working days (3 weeks), but if it’s vital you receive your airgun back as soon as possible, there’s also an Expedited Service option that provides a 10 working days (2 weeks) turnaround.

For full details, please check out the Airgun Repair Services section of our website.
