Belated Costumised Agenda

Hi there!

Today I want to show you my newly customized year agenda/planner. I have been wanting to create my own agenda for some years now, but didn't know what to put inside and never found the time. This year I thought I would use a ring binder so that I could add inserts or change whatever I wanted.
For the inside I used a free printable from El taller de TROCO, and started using it right away.
Only some days ago, I find some time and peace to be able to customize the ring binder, and with some fabric from old jeans I made with =)

Hope you like it

My Own Kind of Beautiful

Hi there!

Last week while helping my son find some inspiration to make a collage for his school homework and... an idea grew on my head. I had never used magazine cut outs in my art journal before, but... I decided to give it a try and this is what came out.

What you think??

In this spread I used:
Old book pages, gesso, watercolor effect crayons,  white gel marker,  swirl stamps and black ink pad.
Magazine cut outs, printed quote, posca pens, medium gel, PITT black markers.

Personalised Sandwich Containers for going back to School

Hi there!

Today I want to show you the personalised sandwich containers that I painted for my kids. We had never used them before, but thinking about reducing the amount of residues that we produce in the day to day, it seemed a good idea to use them. The problem, the difference in price between the plain ones and the ones with TV characters was for times the price of the former's, so... I told them I would craft they for them. If you are interested on the materials and layers that I used you can find the explanation further down.
Now, I'm not sure how long is this going to last... but so far it seems resistant and waterproof.

Hope you like it.

Rubber stamp from Kraftin' Kimmie.

Clear stamp from Penny Black with Mo's Digital Pencil images.

Now, for crafting this plastic containers,
first I used paper sand to prepare the area where I was going to paint.
Then, I used masking tape to protect the borders and added some layers of gesso.
I used Memento Luxe black ink for stamping my images on the background.
I realised that permanent ink would have been better but
I wanted to try with the supplies that I had in my stash.
Then I used Poska pens to colour the backgrounds, leaving the stamps in white.
Then I covered everything with a layer of gel medium.
It is now a good idea to use Copic markers on top of gesso because the tips absorb it and get ruined, but they are ok to use on top of gel medium, so now I am ready to colour my images.
Finally I covered everything with gel medium again to protect them
from the water and the rubbing that they will endure in their day to day use.

We'll see how long they last.,.

I also wanted to make something for the 12 Mixed Media Works of 2016 at Paperbabe Stamps and I was running out of time, so at the end this is what came out.

Magic Spring

Hi there!

Today it's the first friday of the month and that mean challenge day at Aliciabel Challenge Blog. This is challenge #17 and the theme is always Anything Goes but the theme that we use for inspiration was Spring. This week I used this gorgeous fairy stamp called Thoughtful Faery.
Now, I already mentioned some time ago that I went to a workshop with Vicky Clips'n'cuts in Pequeñus. Since then, they have created a permanent Vicky club where we meet once a month to follow Vicky's videos. So, this background was created following one of her videos, but I decided to leave it unfinished to add something of my own later. And I'm leaving you a link to her video, so that you can see what was on the original and what is different in mine.

Hope you like this =)

Cardboard Carving Love

Hi there!

If you are a frequent visitor, you will know that I have started experimenting with Art Journal and mixed media techniques. Last month I found out that Kim Costello, from Paperbabe Stamps was doing a 12 months Mixed Media challenge with great video tutorials, so I decided to join her to get some practice at the same time than still learning.
And oh man...! You can't imagine what is happening! It's like if Pandora's box suddenly got open in my head (or in my craft room).
For this month and after watching her tutorial, I decided to do something that I hadn't done in over 20 years. I decided to go and draw my own image to colour! :O
Hehehe. Ok, I know it's not nothing from another world but I'm very happy with the result.

Hope you like it aswell!

Believe in Fairy Tales

Hi there!

Like I already said, this year, I want to try some different techniques. I have already showed you some art journal spreads, and yesterday I decided to do a mixed media tag. I got inspired by this post on Paperbabe Stamps, called 12 Mixed Media Works of 2016, where you will find and interesting video tutorial.
The challenge for this month was to add "Layers of Tissue", which was a bit of a mess, because the more I tried to crumble if for some texture the more it broke and became a mess... But...

Judge by yourself =P

In this tag: Digital stamp by Sara Burrier from Crafts and me.
Tissue paper, gesso, gel medium, stencils, modeling paste, distress inks and liquid pearls.

Image coloured with Copic markers.

And yes, this is a picture of the tag with the tissue mess =P.

Hi there!

It's challenge at 613 Avenue Create this week. It's challenge #160, our theme is always Anything Goes with no optional twist this week. So for this week, I thought I would use as inspiration my first Art Journal page inspired on the videos and workshop by Vicky from Clips and Cuts.

Now, I have done a lot of experimenting in this page, and I've learned quite a few things, including what not to do the next time. However, I think overall I'm quite pleased with it, but I am interested in your opinions.

Cheers =)

Old book paper, black and white acrylic paint, gesso, distress reinkers,
medium gel, PITT pens, liquid pearls, clock mask, doilies,

Save the Turtles with Faery Ink

Hi there!

Today I wanted to show you an ATC that I made. I used mixed media techniques again. I have to practice :)
This time I used a digital stamp from Faery Inks that the lovely Amanda Byron is selling to collect money to donate to an organization that helps sea turtles and marine life. More info here. I love the sea and I love Faery Ink. And when I saw her I couldn't help but thinking I could have some fun!!

 Hope you like it :)
